Sunshine, beach, palm trees.
Sports cars, beautiful women, bikinis.
“The world of the rich, it does have its attractions.”
“What are you looking at?”
“I’m looking at that streetlamp, it has a real artistic vibe.”
“That’s a streetlamp from the last century.”
“Is it? Quite nostalgic, it does look a bit like something from a nineties film.”
Lu Zheng shook his head, pulling his gaze away from a curvaceous, blonde, blue-eyed woman in a bikini, and began commenting on the streetlamp beside her.
“That sea area is at the junction of the Bahamas, Cuba, and Lighthouse Country. Although it’s international waters, any disturbance would definitely attract the attention of the other two countries.”
Lin Wan said, “Especially since that ship is Spanish, and Spain is notoriously aggressive about its historical treasures. So, even if Lighthouse Country got the treasure map, they probably wouldn’t act immediately.”
Looking at Lu Zheng, Lin Wan smiled, “How do we get there? Are we diving again?”
Back in Qiong Province when they rescued someone, Lu Zheng had used his water-repelling technique to take Lin Wan underwater, revealing yet another of his skills.
Water-repelling!
Lu Zheng shook his head, “Of course we’re renting a yacht. That sea area is quite large. We’re here for treasure hunting and a holiday. Going underwater would feel like work, wouldn’t it?”
Lin Wan pinched Lu Zheng, “Good to know you remember you’re on holiday with me. Where are your eyes wandering now?”
“I’m looking at the advert on that bus. I really didn’t expect Lighthouse Country to have gun adverts everywhere!”
Lu Zheng shook his head, retracting his gaze.
The bus passed, revealing a convertible sports car parked by the roadside, with a brown-haired woman in a sundress inside.
Lin Wan chuckled, knowing Lu Zheng’s cheeky nature, and didn’t mind. She smiled and asked, “Have you got the yacht licence?”
“Got it,” Lu Zheng nodded, “It was simple enough.”
“But the question is, does Lighthouse Country recognise China’s yacht licence?”
“You’re so out of touch,” Lu Zheng said with a grin, “Traffic rules vary by country, but there are no traffic rules on the open sea, so yacht licences are universally accepted.”
“Oh, really?” Lin Wan genuinely didn’t know this.
Lu Zheng nodded, “Of course, as long as you have a deposit, you can rent a yacht to play around with.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Lin Wan asked eagerly.
“Now?”
“Now!”
…
Half a day later, on the yacht.
After setting the autopilot, Lu Zheng and Lin Wan appeared on the deck.
Lu Zheng was shirtless, wearing only a pair of colourful shorts.
Lin Wan wore a rather sexy bikini, her smooth skin as delicate as milk.
A small bottle was handed to Lu Zheng. Lin Wan smirked, “Come on, put sunscreen on me.”
Both Lu Zheng and Lin Wan knew they weren’t afraid of the sun.
So, Lu Zheng eagerly took the bottle, and Lin Wan comfortably lay on a deckchair.
…
It took a full two hours for Lu Zheng and Lin Wan to finish applying sunscreen mixed with some unidentifiable liquid on each other.
By then, it was afternoon, the sun at its fiercest.
They lounged on deckchairs under a parasol, sipping drinks and watching seagulls circling overhead.
Lin Wan suddenly said, “They say this sea area isn’t exactly peaceful.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Drug trafficking, smuggling, illegal immigration,” Lin Wan said, “Poor people from the Caribbean sneak into Lighthouse Country for a better life, while poor people from Lighthouse Country sneak into Cuba for medical treatment. Then there are drug smugglers from Mexico and Colombia trading along the coast.”
“Hasn’t Lighthouse Country already legalised that stuff?”
“Only one type is legal, and small amounts of high-potency products are allowed, but large-scale high-potency trading isn’t legal yet.”
Lu Zheng shrugged, “It’s only a matter of time. No turning back now.”
“Flutter, flutter—”
A seagull folded its wings and landed on the yacht’s railing, holding a shiny silver fish in its beak.
Tilting its head, it swallowed the fish in a few gulps, glanced at the two strange creatures, then spread its wings to take off.
“Come here!”
Lin Wan reached out, her blood qi surging, creating a small vortex and an air pressure wall.
The next moment, the seagull was involuntarily pulled into Lin Wan’s hand.
“Not bad, Dragon-Capturing Technique?”
Lin Wan grinned, “Pretty much anything martial arts in novels can do, I can do too.”
The seagull looked bewildered. After landing in Lin Wan’s hand, it tried to flap its wings and escape, but when Lin Wan’s blood qi surged, it froze like it had met its natural predator.
“It feels nice to touch,” Lin Wan said, stroking the seagull’s feathers.
“Dinner’s grilled seagull?”
Lin Wan nearly choked, rolling her eyes at Lu Zheng, then tossed the seagull back into the air.
The seagull hurriedly spread its wings, steadied itself with a strong flap, and flew off in a panic.
“Alright, alright! There’s plenty of food in the yacht’s fridge. We’ll have steak tonight.”
…
A yacht sailing on the open sea, truly a world for just the two of them.
After a romantic night, the yacht reached the designated sea area by the following afternoon.
“We’re here!”
Lu Zheng stood up, checked the navigation, and compared it with the parchment map on his phone. It was indeed the same location.
Of course, a single point on the map covered a vast sea area, not to mention potential errors in the first mate’s memory.
For treasure hunters, even with clear clues, finding and salvaging a shipwreck could take a year or more.
But Lu Zheng had no such concerns.
He stopped the yacht and set it to automatically adjust its position.
Looking around, the sea stretched endlessly to the horizon.
“Let’s go, into the sea!” Lin Wan said excitedly.
Lu Zheng nodded, wrapped his arm around Lin Wan’s slender waist, and cast a water-repelling spell.
Into the water!
Without a single splash, they slipped silently into the sea.
The water was pushed back a metre, and Lu Zheng and Lin Wan dove deeper, soon reaching a depth where sunlight no longer penetrated.
“It’s so dark!” Lin Wan said.
Back in Qiong Province, following Sha Dun’s yacht, they had stayed only seven or eight metres below the surface, where sunlight was plentiful. Now, nearly two hundred metres down, it was pitch black.
“Should we get the night vision goggles?” Lin Wan asked. She had bought two pairs in Los Angeles and given them to Lu Zheng, perfect for now.
Lu Zheng shook his head, patted his gourd, and a fist-sized pearl floated out.
Lin Wan was stunned to see the pearl emitting a soft glow.
“A night pearl?”
Lu Zheng nodded, wrapping the pearl in his true qi, suspending it above their heads, then channelling more qi into it.
The next moment, the light blazed brightly!
