Great!
Waking up refreshed and invigorated!
Lu Zheng got up to wash, stretched his waist, then reached out to touch the hill.
“Stop it, let me sleep a bit more.”
“Didn’t we agree yesterday to go play at sea today? Are we still going?”
“Yes!”
Lin Wan suddenly opened her eyes, lazily rolled over, and got out of bed.
…
Yesterday, they only flew a loop above Haicheng city. Lin Wan eagerly dragged Lu Zheng back home, obviously not fully satisfied with the flight.
So they agreed yesterday to fly again beautifully today.
After washing and dressing, they went out for breakfast.
They ate xiaolongbao at a shop downstairs, then spent half the day looking for streets without Sky Eye surveillance.
Finally, they found a secluded corner. Lu Zheng cast an invisibility spell, and their figures vanished instantly.
“Let’s go!”
“Whoosh!”
A cluster of white clouds, invisible to others, carried Lu Zheng and Lin Wan leisurely into the sky.
“My goodness!”
Lin Wan exclaimed excitedly, one hand nervously holding onto Lu Zheng while crouching to touch the cloud.
It was soft and fluffy, like stepping on rubber or touching a carpet.
“What’s the principle behind this?”
Lu Zheng rolled his eyes. “Just use true qi to activate the cloud-soaring spell. Modern technology can’t explain or apply it yet.”
This isn’t scientific cultivation. Why bother exploring the principle?
“Hehe!”
Lin Wan stood up, grabbed Lu Zheng, pointed east, and said, “Target: the sea. Let’s go!”
“Got it!”
Activating his true qi, he blocked the fierce winds, protected their forms, and the white cloud drifted, passing over Haicheng straight into the East Sea.
They flew past Tongming Island and the Yangtze River mouth, soon entering the vast ocean.
But what’s interesting about just sea?
So Lu Zheng took Lin Wan along the coastline, slowly flying south, admiring the scenery.
“It’s beautiful! I could only see such views on TV before. Experiencing it in person feels so different.”
“Of course, a full 360-degree view with no blind spots. Look wherever you want.” Lu Zheng pointed ahead. “We’ll soon reach the Zhoushan Islands. Want to check out Putuo Mountain?”
“Sure, I’ve never seen the Guanyin statue at Putuo Mountain.”
So Lu Zheng took Lin Wan to the Putuo Mountain scenic area.
Without landing or revealing themselves, they rode the white cloud, circling around Putuo Mountain, Peach Blossom Island, Luojia Mountain, Daqing Mountain, and other scenic spots, enjoying the views from above, a free tour.
Lu Zheng raised an eyebrow. “Didn’t we say domestic travel costs money? Now that we can fly, haven’t we saved that cost?”
“Are you ever going to let that go?” Lin Wan said irritably. “What about food and lodging if we want to stay longer?”
Lu Zheng thought seriously. “That’s a real issue. Let me think.”
Lin Wan, “…”
Lu Zheng pointed below. “Want to grab some seafood?”
Lin Wan checked her phone. “It’s not even eleven yet. No rush.”
“Alright.” Lu Zheng nodded, guiding the cloud higher.
“By the way, how high can you fly?” Lin Wan asked curiously.
Lu Zheng blinked. “I don’t really know, but theoretically, as long as my body and true qi can withstand the environment, I can keep going up.
Space is definitely out, but the stratosphere should be fine.”
Lin Wan said in shock, “That high? Like an aeroplane?”
“Pretty much. Want to try?”
Though Lu Zheng could fly, in ancient times, he was cautious and didn’t dare fly too high.
In the modern world, he had fewer concerns. Flying high, even without an invisibility spell, radar wouldn’t detect him.
“Let’s do it!” Lin Wan was thrilled.
“If you feel uncomfortable, just tell me.”
“Got it.” Lin Wan nodded.
Lu Zheng laughed, and the white cloud carried them upward.
They passed through layers of clouds, soaring into the sky, reaching an altitude of 10,000 metres.
This height surpassed typical skydiving altitudes, where the air is extremely thin. Ordinary people would need oxygen tanks.
But Lu Zheng and Lin Wan weren’t ordinary. Their true qi was robust. They couldn’t handle the vacuum of space, but the edge of the troposphere into the stratosphere was manageable.
Plus, Lu Zheng used true qi to envelop the cloud for protection.
At 10,000 metres, the scenery was breathtaking.
The view was vast, uplifting the spirit.
“Screech!”
A cry rang out. Lin Wan turned to see a majestic eagle with a wingspan over three metres flying nearby.
Its eyes were sharp, wings like blades, strong and imposing.
“Beautiful!”
“Very beautiful!” Lu Zheng nodded, thinking no wonder ancient nobles loved keeping eagles. They look impressive.
Following the eagle’s path, they noticed a small black dot higher up.
Lin Wan blinked, straining to see. “What’s that? Another eagle?”
“No.” Lu Zheng squinted. “Looks like an aeroplane.”
Turning to Lin Wan, he smiled. “Want to check it out?”
“Is it dangerous?” Lin Wan asked.
“Not at all,” Lu Zheng said. “We can approach slowly from above and leave if anything seems off.”
“Alright!” Lin Wan nodded decisively.
She’d seen superhumans approach planes from the outside in movies, never imagining she’d experience it herself.
The plane was a few thousand metres higher, heading south from the north.
“This direction… an international flight from South Korea to Southeast Asia?” Lu Zheng guessed casually, then took Lin Wan above the plane, slowly approaching.
“That logo…”
“Bloody hell…” Lu Zheng grimaced, spotting a blue circle with a white pentastar on the plane’s wing, flanked by red and white striped rectangles.
“A Lighthouse Country military plane!” Lin Wan narrowed her eyes coldly. “An RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft.”
“Has it crossed the border?” Lu Zheng looked further down.
“Of course not. They wouldn’t dare,” Lin Wan said coolly.
Flying eastward, they were over the East Sea, still near China’s coast.
“In that case…”
Lu Zheng smirked, extended his hand, and a giant white cloud handprint appeared out of nowhere.
The next moment, the hand slammed into one of the plane’s engines.
“Boom!”
A loud explosion. The leftmost engine under the wing erupted in flames, parts scattering.
Then, three more cloud hands appeared, each diving into the remaining engines.
As the plane turned and plummeted, Lu Zheng nodded. “Now I feel satisfied.”
