Apart from Lu Zheng and Lin Wan, everyone else jumped in fright.
“What is happening?”
“Boom! Boom!”
In the next moment, even louder explosions rang out from outside the town. Then several vehicles and a squad of soldiers came racing frantically into the town.
“This is the local garrison!” the young man shouted. Then he saw more vehicles and soldiers following behind them.
“It is the Blue Liberators!”

“They are an anti-government armed group based in the jungles on the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.” The young man said in shock. “But they are still far from here!”

The sounds of automatic rifles and light machine guns rang out continuously. The soldiers of the “Blue Liberators” paid no heed to the civilians around them. Countless bullets flew indiscriminately. Besides the town garrison ahead of them, civilians were also falling in waves.
“Run! Run! Back to the factory!”
The young man’s pupils contracted sharply. He called to his colleagues while grabbing Lu Zheng. “Come with us!”
Lu Zheng glanced back at Lin Wan.
Lin Wan nodded. “Leave here first. Acting directly could bring disaster to the factory.”
Lu Zheng understood, then pushed the stunned Zhao Xiaodao and Li Ying, urging them backward. “Go, get to the cars. Leave here first!”
The group was still several hundred metres from the soldiers, so although chaos reigned around them, no one had died yet.
Stray bullets still whizzed past, sending people screaming in panic. Even Li Ying and Zhao Xiaodao turned pale.
Though they knew Lu Zheng and Lin Wan were no ordinary people, facing a hail of bullets unarmed was beyond human capability.
Not even a wuxia expert could manage it.
Of course, their chances of escaping were far better than ordinary people’s, especially as Chinese nationals.
As long as they survived the initial wave of indiscriminate killing, the danger afterward should not be too great… right?
So they remained relatively calm, crouching low as they fled backward. They soon reached the town’s only open-air car park, where their two off-road vehicles were parked.
“Where is your car?”
Lu Zheng glanced back and saw the young man point to a van nearby. “Right there!”
“Get in! Head back to the factory!”

At that moment, two more explosions sounded nearby. Two pickup trucks were blasted into the air.
Then a squad of soldiers drove into the open-air car park. Without hesitation, they aimed their guns at the people inside.
Everyone’s pupils contracted, for they were not far from the entrance.
Lu Zheng’s eyes narrowed. Like lightning, he and Lin Wan flashed left and right, charging into the midst of the soldiers. With punches and kicks, using the soldiers or vehicles as cover, they moved without pause. In the blink of an eye, all six at the entrance were down.
The entire action took no more than five seconds.
Everyone was stunned. Only Li Ying had seen footage on internal networks of the two storming Old John’s manor. How could ordinary Chinese engineers, Zhao Xiaodao, or her assistant have witnessed such a scene?
Lu Zheng and Lin Wan’s movements were simply too shocking, even overshadowing the discomfort of seeing death.

Gunfire sounded from two other directions. The engineers had no time for more questions. They scrambled into their vehicles, started the engines, and sped out.
Lu Zheng and the others started their off-road vehicles and followed the van out of the car park.
The town was small, and the “Blue Liberators” were not numerous. The three vehicles soon raced out of the town, turning onto a side road towards the steel plant.
The van ahead floored the accelerator, engine roaring as it sped along. The two off-road vehicles followed unhurriedly behind.
“Are we going to the steel plant too?” Li Ying asked over the communicator.
Two vehicles: Lu Zheng drove one alone with all the luggage. Lin Wan drove the other with Li Ying, Zhao Xiaodao, and the women.
They kept the communicators open, so they could chat anytime.
“We have no choice. We planned to refuel in town, but that is impossible now. The steel plant should have its own fuel station.” Lu Zheng said.
“Oh, yes, it definitely does.”
Li Ying nodded, then relaxed against her seat.
“Phew…”
As the gunfire and explosions faded behind them, the three women let out long breaths. Their faces gradually regained colour.
“You were frightened, weren’t you?”
Lin Wan turned back with a gentle voice. “Drink some hot water, chew some gum, and calm down.”
Truth be told, Li Ying coped better, having undergone training and seen many videos and photos. But when had Zhao Xiaodao or the assistant experienced anything like this?
The scenes of bullets flying and blood splattering on the street had left their minds blank. They had only known to follow instructions and move.
Later, in the car park, when guns pointed at them, the assistant truly thought she would die in the next moment.
As for Zhao Xiaodao, her instinct had been to look at Lu Zheng and Lin Wan. Then she witnessed their full display of power.
As the only witness to their sword qi duel, once she recovered, she was not overly afraid.
Though initially stunned by the gunfire, she soon sensed Lu Zheng and Lin Wan’s ease. Reading others’ emotions and states was a basic skill for an outstanding actress.
If it had been a distant encounter, she might have worried about stray bullets hitting them. But at close range, truthfully, she had been waiting to see their Divine Sword of the Six Meridians.
Though she did not see them unleash martial arts, that lightning speed and unparalleled reaction left Zhao Xiaodao certain that against soldiers armed only with light weapons, Lu Zheng and Lin Wan were truly at ease.
“At last, I have seen Brother Lu and Sister Wan display their martial prowess again.” Zhao Xiaodao thought excitedly.
She felt some lingering fear, but excitement dominated. If not for this incident, when would she have had another chance to see Lu Zheng and Lin Wan “go all out”?
