Deserted Mistress Chapter 1029

Xiao Hanjin looked down at her.

She frowned, even a little puzzled, and said, “She likes you, and you like her. So, shouldn’t it be a happy ending for everyone if I step aside and let you two be together? What exactly do you want from me? Why won’t you let me go?”

The man pressed his lips together tightly.

Di Ronghua waited for a long time, but he didn’t speak. Growing impatient, she added, “Just tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you, okay?”

“Give it all to me?”

He let out a low, ambiguous laugh, his deep gaze seemingly fixed on her face. “Right now, I want you. Will you give yourself to me?”

Di Ronghua, “……”

“Put me down. I don’t want to talk to you like this.”

“You used to love it when I held you.”

Di Ronghua looked at him as if he were an idiot. “You said it yourself—*used to*. I don’t like it anymore.”

The man fell silent for a few seconds but eventually complied, walking to the bed and setting her down. However, his tall figure still loomed over her, his long arms braced on either side of her, almost enveloping her completely.

Di Ronghua pushed at him, but he didn’t budge.

She took a deep breath. “Xiao Hanjin.” She looked up at his handsome face, so close to hers, and suddenly laughed. “Being so clingy and persistent really doesn’t suit you. If you keep this up, I might start to suspect that you actually like me.”

The man stiffened slightly.

The air in the room grew heavy, and the atmosphere turned strangely tense.

Di Ronghua’s face froze, and she narrowed her eyes. “Don’t tell me you’ve actually fallen for me?”

Xiao Hanjin watched as the smile on her lips faded, and his heart felt as if it had been abruptly seized. His breathing tightened.

Was she… afraid?

But what was she afraid of? She had merely speculated about the possibility of him liking her. Did she really need to look at him with such a guarded expression?

Or had the idea of him possibly liking her become something that frightened her?

Xiao Hanjin’s gaze darkened, his pitch-black eyes locking onto hers as he suppressed the tension in his voice. “Does it matter?”

“Of course it matters.”

Her immediate answer softened the gloom in his eyes.

But before he could even think of how to respond, her soft, slow voice spoke again. “If you just want something from me, that’s easy. I’ll give you whatever I can, as long as you let me go. But if you really have feelings for me… what am I supposed to do?”

Xiao Hanjin’s gaze paused.

As if he hadn’t understood her words, he hoarsely uttered, “What did you say?”

Di Ronghua’s eyes held a hint of wariness. “Are you deaf?”

“Ronghua.”

The man wasn’t angry. Instead, he smiled, the corners of his lips curling up in a way that somehow felt dangerous. “Take back what you just said.”

“Spilt water can’t be gathered back. How can words be taken back once they’re spoken?”

She looked at his suddenly cold expression and raised an eyebrow. “Why are you so tense? Did I actually guess right?”

Xiao Hanjin’s thin lips pressed into a cold, straight line, his gaze unwavering as he stared at her.

Di Ronghua couldn’t help but laugh. “I think I said it wrong earlier. It’s not about what *I* should do, but what *you* should do.” Her voice turned icy. “Xiao Hanjin, since you dared to bully me like this, you’d better not fall for me. Otherwise, what will *you* do?”
