Deserted Mistress Chapter 1112

Di Ronghua didn’t press further. “Then I’ll… check tomorrow. By tomorrow, it’ll have healed some and won’t look so bad.”

Xiao Hanjin couldn’t help but chuckle, leaning down to nibble at the corner of her mouth. “If you really want to see, stay tonight, and I’ll let you look.”

Di Ronghua’s face flushed. “Xiao Hanjin, you shameless man!”

He raised an eyebrow. “I just asked you to stay. What are you imagining?”

Blushing furiously, Di Ronghua shoved him. “Get lost!”

As night deepened, Jiangjiang was soon bathed and brought back. The three of them lay in bed after washing up—Jiangjiang in the middle, Xiao Hanjin and Di Ronghua on either side. Their hands instinctively rested on the edges of her clothes.

The room was quiet, their gazes meeting unintentionally in the dimness, serene and harmonious.

Di Ronghua had assumed Su Miao would leave soon, but she ended up staying for over half a month.

Letters from Xiliang had arrived, one after another.

[“Return quickly.”]

[“You’ve been gone too long. Return quickly.”]

[“Should I send someone to bring you back?”]

[“If you don’t come back soon, do you want me to personally fetch you from Beixi?”]

[“Miaomiao, come back soon.”]

Each was brief, never explicitly saying he missed her, yet the longing seeped through every line.

Su Miao couldn’t help but smile, folding the latest note and tucking it into the pouch at her waist.

But…

Judging by the timing of the first letter, why did it feel like Di Beiyu started writing the moment she left Xiliang?

Di Ronghua noticed the growing smile on her face and clicked her tongue. “Miaomiao, you’ve barely been out two months, and my brother’s watching you like a hawk. No freedom at all, huh?”

Su Miao glanced up, shooting her a look. Just as she opened her mouth to retort, she spotted an inky figure approaching from a distance.

She raised an eyebrow, smirking. “You’re sure you’ve got the nerve to say that about me?”

Di Beiyu hadn’t seen her in ages, fair enough. But Xiao Hanjin saw Ronghua every day and still came to pick her up—how dare he judge?

Following her gaze, Di Ronghua spotted him and pursed her lips. “He’s just got too much time on his hands.”

Su Miao propped her cheek on her hand. “Seriously, I planned to stay for your wedding before leaving—to show those nagging court fossils that Xiliang isn’t unattended. But…”

But so far, there’d been no word of a wedding.

She grinned. “So when are you two actually tying the knot?”

Di Ronghua’s face stiffened briefly before she replied, “After everything we’ve been through, a wedding’s just a formality.”

Su Miao gave her a look. “But never having a proper ceremony—don’t you feel any regret?”

Di Ronghua glared. “What, you think I should propose to him and ask if he’s willing to marry me?”

Su Miao: “…”

Oh, so it wasn’t unwillingness—it was Xiao Hanjin, that blockhead, who hadn’t brought it up.

Her smile widened as Xiao Hanjin drew closer, his gaze fixed on Di Ronghua. “What are you talking about?”

Di Ronghua glanced at him. “Nothing much.”

Su Miao chuckled. “Yeah, not much—just wondering when you two are getting married.”

Xiao Hanjin’s expression shifted subtly.

After a long pause, he spoke softly. “Finished eating? Can we head back?”
