Mo Wuji sent a transmission to Lan Xiaobu, “Xiaobu, we have two choices. Should we return to Bai Ling Universe to boost our strength and wait for that bastard Kuang Can to show up, or head straight to the Dayan Realm to take him out?”
Lan Xiaobu’s constant use of “bastard” had rubbed off on Mo Wuji, who now called Kuang Can the same.
Lan Xiaobu wasn’t foolish. Only he and Mo Wuji were here, with Lou Wuchen powerless. Mo Wuji’s use of transmission could only mean one thing: he wanted to learn the Dayan Realm’s location. If asked openly, Lou Wuchen would likely refuse to share or even destroy his memory of it.
With Lou Wuchen’s strength, if he sensed their intent, he could erase parts of his memory. While Lan Xiaobu had trapped him in the Cosmic Dimensional Model, he couldn’t control Lou Wuchen’s thoughts.
Mo Wuji’s question clearly showed his preference for heading to the Dayan Realm rather than hiding in Bai Ling Universe.
Lan Xiaobu transmitted back, “In a moment, I’ll lock all temporal and spatial dao laws around Lou Wuchen. Then you soul-search him. We need to be quick. If this bastard notices, he might destroy some memories.”
With that, Lan Xiaobu activated the Cosmic Dimensional Model’s dao laws. In an instant, Lou Wuchen felt his divine sense unable to extend, and time itself seemed frozen. Time might still be creeping forward, but he could no longer sense space.
Was this necessary when he was already trapped in the Cosmic Dimensional Model? As Lou Wuchen puzzled over this, a piercing divine sense stabbed into his sea of consciousness. His soul was locked, and a terrifying, ravaging dao intent began tearing through his soul and sea.
“You’re despicable…” Lou Wuchen managed a few words before spitting out a stream of essence blood.
He couldn’t understand why they’d soul-search him when he’d been cooperating.
“A mere Derivation Realm cultivator dares to soul-search me?” Blood trickled from Lou Wuchen’s mouth, his tone dripping with disdain. But as he spoke, fear flashed in his eyes.
Mo Wuji’s dao could confine all his stray thoughts within a specific dao law range, segmenting his soul thoughts and locking each fragment in a perfectly constructed soul world. Unlike other soul worlds, which couldn’t trap his dao intent, Mo Wuji’s was unremarkable yet pristine, mirroring the state of his soul at its inception. If his soul weren’t injured, he might have torn through these worlds. But now, his thoughts couldn’t break free, leaving him at the mercy of Mo Wuji’s dao intent as it ravaged his soul world.
After struggling futilely, Lou Wuchen gave up. He focused on hiding key memories, hoping this nightmare would end soon so he could reincarnate.
Half an hour later, Mo Wuji withdrew his finger, his face pale.
Even with Lou Wuchen gravely injured, he was a Fourth Step powerhouse. Forcibly scouring his memories had drained Mo Wuji’s divine sense.
“How’d it go?” Lan Xiaobu asked.
Mo Wuji replied, “I got the Dayan Realm’s location and some of Mengmu Dayan’s secrets, but I suspect he hid parts of his memory, blocking me from more about Mengmu Dayan.”
Lan Xiaobu shrugged, “That’s normal. Remember when we were at Creation Realm and that green-robed enforcer tricked you? This guy’s Fourth Step, injured or not. Let’s send him on his way.”
Lan Xiaobu raised his hand, and the Reincarnation Bridge appeared before Lou Wuchen. With someone like him, Lan Xiaobu saw no point in further questioning, knowing it would yield nothing.
A violent wave of reincarnation dao laws surged, enveloping Lou Wuchen to drag him into the six paths of reincarnation beneath the bridge.
“You have the Reincarnation Bridge?” Lou Wuchen’s face paled, and he shouted, “You promised me reincarnation. You can’t do this!”
Lan Xiaobu scoffed, “You’re still going to reincarnate, aren’t you? Besides, I said I’d allow it if you met my demands. Did you? Look, you didn’t, yet I’m still letting you reincarnate. What’s there to complain about?”
Lou Wuchen trembled. He knew reincarnation under Lan Xiaobu’s bridge meant total annihilation. His memories would dissolve, and he might become a mere creature in Lan Xiaobu’s world or vanish entirely from the vast cosmos. Either way, his soul would be obliterated.
“I meant real reincarnation, not under your bridge…” Lou Wuchen’s voice was frantic. He was scared.
Lan Xiaobu glanced at Mo Wuji and said, “I don’t think I have anything else to ask.”
“Maybe we could ask where Mengmu Dayan’s other dojos are, which universes they’re in, and their coordinates,” Mo Wuji suggested.
Lan Xiaobu turned to Lou Wuchen, wrapped in the six paths’ dao laws, “You heard him. Tell us where Mengmu Dayan’s other dojos are, and I might let you reincarnate outside.”
“I can’t, I can’t…” Lou Wuchen muttered, eyes filled with fear.
“Then there’s no need,” Lan Xiaobu said, his dao laws surging. Lou Wuchen was hurled into the reincarnation dao laws beneath the bridge. With a twist of the laws, his soul was annihilated, vanishing without a trace.
From start to finish, he never revealed the locations of Mengmu Dayan’s other dojos.
“Looks like Mengmu Dayan is formidable. Even a Fourth Step powerhouse didn’t dare casually reveal their locations,” Lan Xiaobu remarked.
Mo Wuji sighed, “Even if we knew, it wouldn’t help. Mengmu Dayan is a colossal entity to us. They probably can’t find us, or they wouldn’t let us off.”
Lan Xiaobu shook his head, “Whether they know we destroyed their dojo and killed Lou Wuchen doesn’t matter anymore.”
Mo Wuji instantly grasped Lan Xiaobu’s meaning and fell silent.
Given Mengmu Dayan’s ruthlessness, once they learned their Haoyuan Universe dojo was destroyed and Lou Wuchen killed, Haoyuan Universe would be marked for annihilation.
Worse, Mengmu Dayan might erase not just Haoyuan Universe but all surrounding universes and planets. That meant Bai Ling Universe, where they were based, could be collateral damage.
“Strength is everything. Without it, we’re nothing,” Mo Wuji sighed after a long pause.
Lan Xiaobu grinned, “No need to fear. Didn’t Mengmu Dayan’s founder start small like us? Let’s head to the Dayan Realm, take out Kuang Can, then return to Bai Ling Universe to achieve Creation Saint Realm.”
“Alright, but before we go, let’s spread word that Mengmu Dayan was about to destroy Haoyuan Universe,” Mo Wuji said.
Even if Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji hadn’t intervened, Mengmu Dayan, under Lou Wuchen, would have stripped Haoyuan Universe’s fortune and dao laws, refining it. But since they’d gotten involved, Mo Wuji and Lan Xiaobu felt obliged to warn Haoyuan Universe’s cultivators of the potential catastrophe, easing their consciences.
Disguising themselves, they returned to the void plaza outside Haoyuan Universe, still teeming with people. They quickly spread the news that Mengmu Dayan had destroyed its own dojo and planned to refine and obliterate Haoyuan Universe.
Despite their detailed account, most scoffed. Mengmu Dayan had been in Haoyuan Universe for ages. Though it faced recent troubles, destroying its own dojo seemed absurd.
Unfazed, Mo Wuji and Lan Xiaobu left Haoyuan Universe after spreading the message. They couldn’t save those who wouldn’t save themselves.
Shortly after their departure, Mengmu Dayan’s destruction was confirmed.
Its once-magnificent dojo was now rubble, without a single intact building, mountain, or even stone.
Clearly, the two cultivators who spread the news had told the truth.
Though many doubted Mengmu Dayan would return to destroy or refine Haoyuan Universe, numerous cultivators began leaving.
Not because they believed Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji, but because they knew what Mengmu Dayan was. Few believed Mengmu Dayan would quietly abandon Haoyuan Universe.
