Deserted World Chapter 1219

Despite recent turmoil in the Great Cosmos, it amounted to mere conflicts compared to before. However, the unprecedented killing of two geniuses from the Great Vault Silence Dao, who were set to attend the Longevity Conference, especially after their sect offered a Chaos Dao Body, was unthinkable.

As the leader of the Great Vault Silence Dao, Gu Jin couldn’t accept this. He rushed straight to the residence of the Chaos One Heavenly Court’s Emperor.

Benefiting from the Great Vault Silence Dao, the Chaos One Heavenly Court’s status had risen, securing a section in Jinluo Tower. Though not much stronger than the Moru World, the Chaos One World boasted a seventh-step Great Dao powerhouse, Emperor Wan Xunhua.

In the Central World, the Great Vault Silence Dao was barely a first-class sect, but in the Chaos One World, it was top-tier. Having acquired a Chaos Dao Body to offer at the Longevity Conference, it was a priority for Emperor Wan Xunhua. Hearing that two of their conference participants were killed in the Central World, he immediately took Gu Jin to confront Emperor Ku Yichi of the Central Heavenly Court for answers.

Lan Xiaobu, with Taichuan, entered Anluo Heavenly City. Taichuan disguised himself as a pill-carrying attendant, while Lan Xiaobu transformed into a Dao Pill Saint.

Taichuan’s rapid advancement meant that attending the Longevity Conference would aid his goal of reaching the sixth step quickly. Though the conference included questionable elements like Chaos Dao Body insights, Lan Xiaobu knew it offered genuine opportunities for dao comprehension. More insights before cultivating in the Great Cosmos Valley would accelerate progress.

“Stop! During the Longevity Conference, unrelated individuals must stay away from Jinluo Tower,” a guard blocked Lan Xiaobu and Taichuan at the entrance.

Lan Xiaobu clasped his fists. “I’m a participant from the Moru World. Please summon Emperor Moru; he’ll escort me in.”

He had sent messages to Emperor Cebai Huisheng upon arriving, but received no reply.

Before the guard could respond, a man in a golden dao robe passing by laughed. “Think a Heavenly Emperor is a big deal here? Truth is, Cebai Huisheng can barely protect himself, let alone bring you into Jinluo Tower.”

What did that mean? Lan Xiaobu frowned. Cebai Huisheng was a Heavenly Emperor, leading participants to the conference. How could he be in trouble? If even emperors weren’t safe, what was this talk of peaceful coexistence in the Great Cosmos?

Knowing he’d get no answers here, Lan Xiaobu needed to investigate quickly. If Cebai Huisheng was in trouble, he’d help, not just for the Heavenly Court Token’s aid but because Cebai was a decent person.

As he prepared to leave, a blue-robed cultivator hurried out of Jinluo Tower.

Seeing him, Lan Xiaobu called out joyfully, “Brother Gu, please wait!”

It was Gu Changjian, looking worried and rushing out, oblivious to Lan Xiaobu. Hearing his call, Gu stopped and looked over.

At first, he seemed confused, not recognising Lan Xiaobu, but then he realised and approached eagerly. “Is that Brother Lan?”

Lan Xiaobu knew Cebai Huisheng must have informed Gu Changjian, showing him his true appearance, or Gu wouldn’t know his surname.

“Indeed, it’s me. Where are you rushing to?” Lan Xiaobu asked.

Gu Changjian pulled him aside. “Too much has happened at this Longevity Conference. After centuries of delays, just as it was set to begin, more issues arose. Recently, two geniuses from the Chaos One World’s Great Vault Silence Dao were inexplicably killed.”

Lan Xiaobu knew it was likely the man and woman he’d slain, but he wasn’t concerned. With his current strength, he’d erased the spatial rules at the scene. Even a seventh-step cultivator retracing time wouldn’t trace him, unless a Dao Ancestor bothered, which he doubted.

“How does the Chaos One World’s issue involve the Moru World? I just heard Emperor Moru is in trouble,” Lan Xiaobu asked, puzzled.

Gu Changjian sighed. “A seventh-step cultivator from Anluo Heavenly City retraced the scene but found nothing, only that the killings happened outside the Great Cosmos Valley.”

“So what?” Lan Xiaobu asked, though inwardly he regretted not killing them elsewhere. Outside the valley was too conspicuous.

Gu continued, “Then the Heavenly Emperors checked the Great Cosmos Valley’s tokens and found that Moru Heavenly Court’s token was used over two hundred years ago, and it was used improperly.”

“Improperly?” Lan Xiaobu frowned.

Gu explained, “One token allows only one person to cultivate in the valley, but Moru’s token brought in more than one.”

Lan Xiaobu, puzzled, asked, “If one token allows only one person, how did Moru’s bring several? Isn’t that contradictory? If the valley’s barriers allow multiple entries, who’s to blame?”

Gu said, “That’s the issue. Under the barrier rules, one token permits one person, except for Dao Ancestors. With a token, they can bring many without restriction.”

“Why are Dao Ancestors exempt?” Lan Xiaobu, despite centuries in the valley, knew little of its rules.

Gu replied, “Those who cultivate their own dao and reach the fourth step can, with a token, bring others into the valley via their world. Think about it: in the vast cosmos, how many cultivate their own dao? Inherited daos are refined over millennia, vastly stronger. Even stubborn cultivators rarely reach the Creation Dao Realm, let alone the fourth step—it’s impossible.”

Lan Xiaobu understood. His self-cultivated dao allowed him to bring Qi Manwei and Taichuan in his Longevity Realm. Dubu, though in the Great Derivation Realm, was also in a corner of his Longevity Realm, enabling entry.

“Brother Gu, are all Dao Ancestors self-dao cultivators?” Lan Xiaobu asked.

Gu shook his head. “Not all. I’m not sure how many, but our Moru World’s Dao Ancestor doesn’t cultivate a self-dao.”

“Where are you going now?” Lan Xiaobu asked.

Gu said urgently, “I came to rally Moru World’s participants to demand answers, but most aren’t here, and the few present cite seclusion to avoid joining. I’m heading back alone.”

“What about Saint Minister Pang Jie?” Lan Xiaobu asked, knowing Pang Jie, Moru’s Left Saint Minister, was the strongest among them, at the sixth step, nearly seventh.

“Pang Jie was severely injured for arguing his case and is now in the Central Heavenly Court’s hall,” Gu replied.

“Let’s go together,” Lan Xiaobu said immediately.

This issue stemmed from him, but even if it hadn’t, he’d help Cebai Huisheng for his decency.

“Thank you, Brother Lan, but just us two…” Gu was grateful but knew two weren’t enough. More Moru participants would bolster their presence, perhaps swaying the outcome.
