Seeing Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji’s residence forcibly blasted open by a powerhouse from the Weiju World, many people came out to watch the spectacle.
The Weiju World had a low presence in the Great Cosmos, as they kept a low profile and rarely appeared. Moreover, their attack methods were seldom revealed. But this wasn’t because they were weak; on the contrary, they were not only strong but exceptionally so.
When the Weiju World first entered the Great Cosmos, they were utterly unremarkable, merely a small sect in the Xingfan World, law-abiding and offending no one. Until one day, this sect suddenly struck, effortlessly wiping out the Xingfan World’s Heavenly Court, killing the Xingfan Dao Ancestor Qin Chun, and establishing the Weiju World, with the Xingfan World vanishing without a trace.
Because the Weiju World wreaked havoc across the Great Cosmos, the seven major worlds, led by the Central World, united to crusade against them. In that war, the Weiju World, with just space cannons and Rule-Breaking Swords, inflicted devastating losses on the other major worlds.
Why were there so few Seventh Step cultivators in the Great Cosmos? This war was a primary reason. It saw the fall of numerous Seventh Step Great Dao powerhouses and many highly promising cultivators, leaving the Great Cosmos unable to recover for years. Over time, the Weiju World’s technological advancements grew even more formidable, enabling them to easily construct teleportation arrays across the Great Cosmos.
As time passed, in many people’s eyes, the Weiju World could dominate the entire Great Cosmos if they wished, but they chose not to. Because of this, no world dared provoke them. Even when the Weiju World overstepped in search of resources, other worlds let them be.
Now, a Weiju World powerhouse had blasted open the residence of Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji, two formidable figures, and everyone naturally came to watch, believing that being targeted by the Weiju World meant certain death.
Yet reality defied expectations. It should have been Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji obliterated by the Weiju World powerhouse’s Rule-Breaking Sword, but instead, Mo Wuji effortlessly killed the eight-star cosmic powerhouse Fang Can with a single blade of rule-based light.
Though many believed the Weiju World wouldn’t use space cannons on Anluo Heavenly City, some cultivators still worried, losing interest in the Longevity Conference and simply leaving the city.
What if, just what if, the Weiju World retaliated against Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji with a single cannon blast, reducing the entire Anluo Heavenly City to nothing?
“Is it their own Great Dao?” Upon returning, Qi Zhe Tian eagerly asked.
Mo Wuji nodded, “Exactly, it’s their own Great Dao. The Weiju World may possess top-tier cosmic technology, but their tech relies on the Great Cosmos’ universal rules. If you follow your own Great Dao, built entirely on your own Dao rules, no matter how strong their technological attacks, they can’t touch you.”
“Mo Daoyou, you and Lan Daoyou know I plan to re-derive my own Great Dao, but my aptitude is limited. Since you understand my Dao so well, I’d like to ask for your guidance on how I can derive my own Great Dao,” Qi Zhe Tian said excitedly.
Mo Wuji laughed heartily, “Don’t worry, Qi Zhe Tian Daoyou. After Lan Xiaobu and I set up the barrier for Anluo Heavenly City, we’ll help you. I guarantee you’ll find your own path to your Great Dao before the Longevity Conference begins.”
“Set up a barrier?” Qi Zhe Tian asked, puzzled.
Lan Xiaobu explained, “What if the Weiju World retaliates against Anluo Heavenly City because we killed Fang Can? Our barriers are built with our own Dao rules, completely unafraid of their space cannons or even their Rule-Breaking Cannons. But the city’s existing barrier, built on the Great Cosmos’ universal rules, can be easily broken by the Weiju World. We can’t pin our safety on the hope they won’t fire.”
“Good, I can’t help with that, but I have a few top-grade Dao veins. If you need them, I can provide them,” Qi Zhe Tian responded immediately.
Lan Xiaobu sighed, “I suspect all these top-grade Dao veins have been hoarded by you Dao Ancestors.”
Qi Zhe Tian gave an awkward smile. Though Lan Xiaobu wasn’t entirely correct, those who could produce top-grade Dao veins now were mostly Dao Ancestors or Eighth Step powerhouses.
Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji quietly left Anluo Heavenly City to set up a cosmic barrier, staying almost beyond the city’s defensive range to avoid detection by Di Lan and others. They had decided: if the Weiju World didn’t bombard the city with space cannons, the matter would end there. But if they dared, Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji would ensure the Weiju World, this scourge, was eradicated.
While they worked on the barrier, in Anluo Heavenly City’s Dao Ancestor Hall, Di Lan once again summoned all the Dao Ancestors.
“Qi Zhe Tian Daoyou, you were closest to Mo Wuji when he killed Fang Can. Can you describe how Mo Wuji broke Fang Can’s protective field and killed him?” Di Lan zeroed in on Qi Zhe Tian first.
He knew more about the Weiju World than Qi Zhe Tian, aware that Fang Can’s human-shaped protective halo, set slightly apart from his body, was a protective field, so powerful even a Dao Ancestor’s domain couldn’t interfere.
Qi Zhe Tian pondered before saying, “I have a suspicion, but it doesn’t quite add up.”
“What suspicion?” Quan asked eagerly.
Having nearly been killed by Lan Xiaobu, he desperately wanted to know their trump cards. Without avenging this, he’d have no face as a Dao Ancestor of a world.
“I suspect Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji cultivate their own Great Dao, which allowed them to tear through Fang Can’s protective field. But if their own Great Dao were so easy to cultivate, there wouldn’t be almost no powerhouses with it,” Qi Zhe Tian said truthfully, knowing Di Lan and others could guess as much even if he didn’t speak.
“Their own Great Dao?” Di Lan frowned. He had suspected Lan Xiaobu followed his own Great Dao, but Ku Yi Chi had checked and confirmed otherwise.
Moments later, Di Lan called, “Ku Yi Chi.” Within seconds, Ku Yi Chi’s figure appeared in the hall. He first saluted the Dao Ancestors before bowing to Di Lan and asking, “What does the Dao Ancestor need?”
“You confirmed Lan Xiaobu doesn’t follow his own Great Dao?” Di Lan asked.
Ku Yi Chi replied confidently, “Absolutely not, it’s likely a spatial Dao. When I checked, Lan Xiaobu was only at the Fifth Step of the Great Dao. His aptitude is extraordinary, using treasures to reach the Seventh Step in such a short time, truly bizarre.”
By noting Lan Xiaobu was only at the Fifth Step during his check, he implied a Fifth Step cultivator couldn’t have deceived him.
“That seems unlikely. Cultivating their own Great Dao to the seventh Seventh step Step? In the Great Cosmos? That defies reason,” Chang Yi said proactively.
He now believed Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji likely followed their own Great Cosmos, otherwise how could they infiltrate his residence undetected? But unsure if he was compromised, he chose to defend them for now.
“Heh,” Xing Jia Yi laughed, “I don’t know about Mo Wuji, but I’m certain Lan Xiaobu follows his own Great Dao.
“Why?” Di Lan’s gaze fixed on Xing Jia.
Xing Jia Yi said, “Lan Xiaobu has a close relationship with Ce Ku Hui Sheng, so Ce Ku Hui knew Lan Xiaobu cultivated his own Great Great Dao. He told me himself, so it should be true.”
He omitted that Ce Ku Hui Sheng reached the seventh Seventh step Step with Lan’s help.
Chang Yi glanced at Xing Jia, thinking, *You’re courting death and still blabbering. When the Cosmic Tree appears at the Longevity Conference, you’ll be the first to die.*
“But it was Mo Wuji who struck not Lan Xiaobu. Surely both can’t both be their own Great Dao?” Lin Jie interjected.
How hard is it to cultivate one’s own Great Great Dao? Reaching the Creation Dao Realm with it is already unimaginable; the seventh Seventh step Step is unthinkable. If Lan Xiaobu’s it’s possible, perhaps. But both? Utterly impossible.
If they cultivated the same Great Dao, it wouldn’t be their own Great Great Dao. A personal Great Dao is one uniquely suited to oneself, cultivated by only by one person in the vast cosmos.
Di Lan said gravely, “The issue isn’t just how Mo Wuji killed Fang Can. As an eight-star cosmic powerhouse of the Weiju World, killed in Anluo, do you think they’ll retaliate?
“They wouldn’t dare, would they?” Chang Yi said uncertainly.
“Dare not dare?” Ling Zhu sneered coldly, “Do you know how Xingfan Zhou was erased? The Weiju World’s powerhouses amassed countless space cannons and Rule-Breaking Cannons, effortlessly wiping Xingfan from from the Cosmos.”
Di Lan declared immediately, “I’ll send someone to the Weiju World to explain the situation, hoping to ally with them. Since Mo Wuji killed Fang Can, and Mo Wuji is our enemy, we can unite.”
