Deserted World Chapter 1286 - LiddRead

Deserted World Chapter 1286

When Jing Xizhen saw that Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji’s domains had completely restrained all the battleships without any impact, he didn’t even consider calling for a halt. He turned to leave, but at that moment, he too was locked in place by their domains. Despite being at the eighth step of the Great Dao, he was unable to use his escape techniques.

Under the crisscrossing halberd lights, these black battleships, which dominated the Central World, were like paper, utterly defenceless.

Whether it was Tian Di Chong Fan of the Weiju World or the First Commander Shang Yuanku, their rule-breaking weapons were useless. Under the halberd-killing domains of Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji, they had no ability to resist.

The strength gap was too vast; sometimes, numbers meant nothing. This outcome was exactly as Jing Xizhen had predicted.

Before his death, Chong Fan never imagined that, after their long-standing superiority in the Weiju World, they couldn’t even last a stick of incense under the killing domains of others. Before Lan Xiaobu’s Longevity Halberd Light tore his body apart, he began to doubt whether researching technology in a realm like the Great Universe, with its rich cosmic energy and clear rules, was meaningful.

Both Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji sighed, realising that sometimes things that seem terrifying are merely a layer of paper, nothing once pierced.

“Jing Xizhen got away,” Mo Wuji said, somewhat displeased.

Despite being locked by Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji’s domains, Jing Xizhen still managed to escape their restraints, slipping away silently.

“It must be a spatial technique. That guy is dangerous, and his spatial methods are bizarre, breaking through our domain restraints,” Lan Xiaobu said, astonished.

Neither Mo Wuji nor Lan Xiaobu considered pursuing Jing Xizhen after his escape.

Lan Xiaobu looked at the scattered cosmic warriors they had defeated and sighed, “Some of these warriors are data beings, and others are walking corpses implanted with memory waves. The Weiju World is truly despicable. Except for the few at the top of the survival chain, no one else is considered human. Though I want to destroy the Weiju World now, I’m sure someone hopes we’ll fight like fish and clams, exhausting each other.”

Mo Wuji nodded, “We’d better not bother with the Weiju World and just return to Anluo Heavenly City. Have you seen anyone from Anluo Heavenly City step up? They deserve this. If they hope we’ll destroy the Weiju World for them, let them wait. Our own Dao principles aren’t afraid of their rule-breaking weapons.”

After returning to Anluo Heavenly City, Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji heard hushed discussions in the Tianxi Tower about the lack of response from Anluo Heavenly City’s Dao Ancestors regarding the events outside the Weiju World.

Neither Lan Xiaobu nor Mo Wuji cared, focusing instead on guiding Qize Tian in refining his own Great Dao and studying the cosmic rules of the Great Universe.

Qize Tian’s Great Dao was originally derived through the Seven Realms Opening Technique. Feeling it was slightly lacking, he now aimed to make it truly his own, and everything he had done before suddenly gained meaning.

With Mo Wuji’s help, in less than three months, his Great Dao began to take shape.

However, Qize Tian could no longer focus on his own Great Dao, as the Eternal Life Conference had begun.

In the central square of Anluo Heavenly City, 108 white jade staircases slowly appeared, extending diagonally from the square into the sky.

A majestic Dao sound reverberated through the void, and misty clouds enveloped the sky above Anluo Heavenly City. No one could see what the Eternal Life Conference venue within the clouds looked like.

Everyone knew that ascending the white jade staircases would lead to the conference square. But for now, no one dared move. Before the Eternal Life Conference officially opened, it was impossible to ascend. Moreover, after it began, an identity jade token was required to go up.

Yet, everyone gathered around the central square’s perimeter, knowing that even if they couldn’t enter, they could listen to the Dao sounds from below during the conference discussions. Even a trace of those sounds would be immensely beneficial to their Great Dao.

Lan Xiaobu, Mo Wuji, and their group of eight arrived, including Qize Tian, Qi Manwei, Du Bu, Fang Zhiqian, Tai Chuan, and Gou Mang. With Qize Tian, a Dao Ancestor, in their group, securing spots for the Eternal Life Conference was no concern. (Chapter incomplete!)

**Chapter 1286: The Eternal Life Conference Begins**

As the Dao sounds grew louder, Dao Lord Di Lan, accompanied by Dao Ancestors from other major worlds, stepped out from the void, standing in the middle of the widest white jade staircase.

The entire central square of Anluo Heavenly City fell silent, watching the Dao Ancestors on the staircase.

Qize Tian said to Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji, “I’ll head over there, we’ll talk later.”

With that, he stepped forward, joining the other Dao Ancestors. As the Dao Ancestor of the Seven Realms, he couldn’t remain below with Lan Xiaobu and the others at this moment.

Di Lan nodded to Qize Tian, his gaze sweeping over Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji, feeling disappointed. According to his plan, Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji should have forcibly used Anluo Heavenly City’s teleportation array to enter the Weiju World and destroy it. In reality, they only eliminated the Weiju World’s cosmic army invading the Central World, with no intention of attacking the Weiju World itself. He even suspected that Jing Xizhen, the Dao Lord of the Weiju World, hadn’t been killed.

“Fellow Daoists, the long-awaited Eternal Life Conference is about to begin. This is not the first time the conference has been held in our Great Universe, nor will it be the last. What’s different this time is that a Chaos Dao Body will appear, allowing everyone to comprehend the Chaos Great Dao.”

At Di Lan’s words, enthusiastic cheers erupted, clearly showing everyone’s anticipation for the Chaos Dao Body.

“Due to limited space, not everyone can enter the main venue. This time, 10,000 people will enter the main venue. Those who cannot enter need not worry, as there’s an auxiliary venue for 100,000 people. Beyond that, the entire Anluo Heavenly City can hear the Dao teachings, with the clearest sounds in the central square…”

Even louder responses followed, with everyone eagerly anticipating the upcoming Eternal Life Conference.

Lan Xiaobu knew that the auxiliary venue was likely for wealthy cultivators, major Dao sects, trade buildings, and chambers of commerce. With Qize Tian’s allocated spots, their group would surely enter the main venue.

“Now, please let the geniuses from each world enter the Eternal Life Conference venue first.” With Di Lan’s words, void ripples appeared before the 108 white jade staircases. Anyone with a jade token could enter, while others would be repelled.

Holding their jade tokens, Lan Xiaobu and his group crossed the ripples on the staircase without hindrance and stepped onto the white jade steps.

Lan Xiaobu felt exasperated, wondering what Xing Jia was thinking. The conference had spots for 10,000 geniuses, with at least 5,000 to 6,000 true talents. Yet, the Moru World had only about 100 participants, barely a fraction. Excluding the disloyal ones, the Moru World likely had only a few dozen geniuses attending. Di Lan clearly didn’t take the Moru World seriously, yet Xing Jia eagerly followed him, which was truly ironic for a Dao Ancestor.

Though unclear about the purpose of the white jade staircases, Lan Xiaobu and Mo Wuji continued inscribing various void array patterns as they ascended.

The staircase had over 900 steps, leading to another square with a massive gate, a thousand zhang tall, at its end. Lan Xiaobu realised that, despite the 108 staircases leading to the venue, all converged at this gate.

The gate offered no clear view of the Eternal Life Conference venue; neither eyes nor divine sense could penetrate the haze.

Mo Wuji activated his Dao Vision, revealing a dome-shaped building like a yurt. Probing with his divine sense, he confirmed it was a real structure, not a magical treasure, which relieved him. If it were a treasure, he wouldn’t dare enter.

“Let’s go in,” Lan Xiaobu said, seeing the crowd surge toward the gate.

“The white jade staircases likely lead in two directions. Our jade tokens brought us here, where the genius disciples discuss the Dao. The other direction is probably the regular venue for ordinary chambers of commerce,” Qi Manwei remarked, noting fewer people at the massive gate compared to those ascending the staircases.

“It’s just a simple staircase array; I could set it up myself,” Tai Chuan boasted.

Mo Wuji, however, paused, frowning, sensing a familiar presence. How could that be? Apart from Lan Xiaobu, he had no close acquaintances here. Even Ou Ping, from Mengmu Dayan, wasn’t that familiar. (Chapter incomplete!)
