“Lord Lan, setting up a planet-wide array will surely take a long time. Why don’t we split up? I’ll search for the warehouse while you set up the array. It’ll be faster that way,” Mengyuan said quickly after hearing Lan Xiaobu’s words.
Lan Xiaobu chuckled, “I’m not setting up the array to destroy this planet, but to lock down everyone on it, ensuring no one escapes. As for destroying the planet, I have plenty of ways. Does Great Dream Dao think they’re the only ones who can control and enslave planets and realms? I have those means too, I just choose not to use them. You go ahead and search for the warehouse, I’ll follow behind and set up the array along the way.”
Techniques like the Great Cosmos Technique or Great Dream Dao methods to destroy a planet weren’t beyond Lan Xiaobu, but he had his own principles and底线. Such methods weren’t meant for planetary destruction. Since Great Dream Dao thought their methods were superior, he’d show them his Great Destruction Technique and Great Annihilation Technique, proving they could just as easily obliterate Great Dream Star.
“Alright,” Mengyuan nodded, immediately darting toward the highest peak on Great Dream Star. Knowing Lan Xiaobu’s strength far surpassed hers, she wasn’t worried about him keeping up.
Lan Xiaobu followed closely, continuously inscribing various void array patterns along the way.
Though Mengyuan’s speed seemed slow to Lan Xiaobu, they reached the peak’s outskirts after a day.
From a distance, it appeared as a massive mountain. But as Lan Xiaobu’s divine sense pierced through the outer restrictions, he saw it wasn’t a mountain but a towering, peak-shaped structure.
Even with restrictions locking it, the tower radiated Dao charm. Lan Xiaobu knew at a glance it was no ordinary tower.
“This is Great Dream Tower, the ultimate aspiration for all Great Dream Dao cultivators. Here, one can endlessly perfect their Great Dream Dao. I’ve been to Great Dream Star a few times but only entered Great Dream Tower once. That visit allowed me to leap from the Creation Realm to the fourth step of the Great Dao,” Mengyuan explained.
“You suspect the warehouse is linked to Great Dream Tower?” Lan Xiaobu asked, sensing Mengyuan’s belief that the warehouse was connected to the tower, which was why she came here.
Mengyuan nodded, “Mengmu Dayan never stores rewards in rings beforehand; they’re retrieved and distributed in the shortest time possible. I received my reward alongside other meritorious Mengmu Dayan disciples on the first floor of Great Dream Tower. I think the warehouse is likely near it.”
Seeing Lan Xiaobu’s silence, Mengyuan quickly added, “Great Dream Tower is a primordial treasure, said to bear the mark of the Great Dream Dao Ancestor.”
“The Great Dream Dao Ancestor is Hui Zhi, right?” Lan Xiaobu asked.
Mengyuan nodded, “Yes, but the Great Dream Dao Ancestor is rarely on Great Dream Star, reportedly staying in the vast cosmos. If we take Great Dream Tower, we’ll surely find the warehouse.”
Lan Xiaobu shook his head, “Great Dream Tower is just Great Dream Tower, it has nothing to do with the warehouse.”
“How do you know?” Mengyuan looked at him in surprise.
Though the cosmic dimensional model hadn’t fully constructed Great Dream Star’s structure, Lan Xiaobu vaguely sensed there was no warehouse within.
That didn’t add up. Given Mengmu Dayan’s nature, truly valuable items would never be entrusted to one person. To show he was no different from ordinary disciples, Hui Zhi would likely place top treasures in a warehouse, proclaiming that anyone who achieved great merit could access them.
So, the warehouse definitely existed, just like when he and Mo Wuji found Breath Soil in a Mengmu Dayan warehouse in a mid-tier cosmos.
Mengyuan, realising her question was pointless, knew Lan Xiaobu wouldn’t speak without certainty. If he said the warehouse wasn’t in Great Dream Tower, he must be confident.
“Mengyuan, do you know anything about the warehouse?” Lan Xiaobu asked again, as Mengyuan, formerly of Mengmu Dayan, was far more familiar with it than he was.
Mengyuan fell silent, pondering her past experiences with Mengmu Dayan’s warehouses.
After a while, she said, “Lord Lan, I once helped set up an array for a low-tier cosmos warehouse. The main array master said the Dao Ancestor declared that Mengmu Dayan’s warehouses must be secretive, able to be moved quickly, and also…”
“Wait,” Lan Xiaobu interrupted, feeling he’d grasped something.
What could be moved quickly besides a teleportation array?
He immediately accessed the cosmic dimensional model’s structure of the teleportation array cluster on Great Dream Star’s void plaza. The plaza had only four guards but sixteen teleportation arrays.
Under his divine sense, all sixteen arrays’ structures were clear. Surprisingly, fifteen had been used, some frequently, but one had never been activated.
In a place like this, each teleportation array was built for ultra-long-distance void travel, consuming mountains of top-grade materials and years to construct. Why would Mengmu Dayan build an unused array?
Moreover, Lan Xiaobu noticed this unused array’s structure differed. The other fifteen were non-fixed teleportation arrays, meaning you couldn’t trace their origin even if you saw someone arrive. Only one was a fixed-point array, and it had never been used.
Lan Xiaobu hypothesised: if Great Dream Star faced a crisis, could this fixed-point array teleport the warehouse away instantly? He quickly confirmed that the sixteenth, unused array was Mengmu Dayan’s warehouse, one that could be teleported away, likely to Hui Zhi’s hands.
“Mengyuan, I know where the warehouse is. It’s likely in one of the outer teleportation arrays,” Lan Xiaobu said promptly.
Mengyuan gasped, then exclaimed joyfully, “Then let’s go out, open the array, and take the warehouse!”
Lan Xiaobu frowned, looking at Great Dream Tower, “Taking the warehouse is simple, but taking it, destroying Great Dream Star, and escaping via the teleportation array might be difficult.”
He didn’t voice another thought: Great Dream Tower, a primordial treasure, was undeniably desirable. Taking it and destroying Great Dream Star would likely mean missing the warehouse. Taking the warehouse might mean losing the tower and the chance to escape via the array.
After a brief moment of thought, Lan Xiaobu said, “I’ll lock Great Dream Tower with void array patterns, then we’ll head to the plaza immediately.”
He decided to secure the warehouse and use the teleportation array to return to the vast cosmos. As for Great Dream Tower, it would come last. If his arrays couldn’t take it, so be it, but a Great Destruction Technique could still obliterate Great Dream Star.
Mengyuan, unable to help much, re-entered Lan Xiaobu’s world. He disguised himself as a spatial Dao principle and returned to the plaza.
The four guards stood like statues at Great Dream Star’s entrance, their sole duty to guard it, unaware Lan Xiaobu had come and gone.
At the sixteenth teleportation array, Lan Xiaobu refrained from probing it with divine sense. The cosmic dimensional model had already mapped its structure. Now, he pondered how to access the warehouse within.
Per the model, the array couldn’t be moved. It appeared as a teleportation array but was actually a space, one that could be teleported away at any moment.
Despite knowing the warehouse held countless treasures, Lan Xiaobu restrained himself, focusing on how to open it and retrieve its contents.
Conventional methods wouldn’t work. His first thought was to cut off the array’s primal energy, as all teleportation arrays required it to activate.
But he quickly dismissed this. The array’s energy couldn’t be cut off, much like his four Chaos Path arrays in the void, drawing power from the space’s rules.
He couldn’t block all the rules of this space. If he could, he’d simply grab the warehouse, destroy Great Dream Star, and leisurely return to the vast cosmos.
He couldn’t block the space’s rules, but he could alter them. If he changed the spatial rules here to his Longevity Dao rules, even if the array activated, he could redirect it.
Excited, Lan Xiaobu realised teleportation arrays relied on spatial and temporal rules. Time rules applied during transit, but before activation, spatial rules governed the array.
At the seventh step of the Great Dao, he could silently alter the spatial rules of this array’s space in a short time.
