“It’s actually still a chaotic world,” Lan Xiaobu looked at the ring in his hand with uncontainable joy. In just three days, Lan Xiaobu had erased all the restrictions within this chaotic world, transforming it into his own ring.
Using a chaotic world as a ring, and daring to use his chaotic world as a storage space, letting everyone see its contents to motivate them to act, probably only someone like Hui Zhi would do such a thing.
The Seven Realms Stone had come to a halt, and Lan Xiaobu knew he had once again returned to the void outside the Great Cosmos.
Lan Xiaobu put away the Seven Realms Stone and stood in the void outside the Great Cosmos. His divine sense swept outwards, only to find that starships like the Great Blue Star were nowhere to be seen. The outside of the Great Cosmos was vast and empty, and even the flying treasures that once traversed the void outside the Great Cosmos seemed to have vanished overnight.
The first time Lan Xiaobu came to the void outside the Great Cosmos, it took him years to locate the entrance plaza in the void. This time, it took him merely half an incense stick’s time to find the entrance plaza of the Great Cosmos.
This wasn’t the same entrance plaza he had visited before, but it wasn’t much different. Just one entrance plaza was equivalent in size to several Earths.
Lan Xiaobu couldn’t help but sigh in awe. The Tianmeng Clan was truly blessed with dog’s luck to have found a place like the Great Cosmos, a vast and majestic high-level universe. This place was practically tailor-made for the path to immortality. He only hoped that Mo Wuji and Ding Chongchen could also find chaotic realms comparable to the Great Cosmos, allowing them to carve out a living space for humanity.
If they truly couldn’t find such a place, the only option would be to return and wipe out the Tianmeng Clan. But even if they destroyed the Tianmeng Clan, the Great Cosmos wouldn’t truly belong to them. They would still need to alter the rules of heaven and earth and destroy the Cosmic Tree…
Thinking further, Lan Xiaobu shook his head. It was better to search for a new Great Cosmos or a vast world, far better than seizing the Tianmeng Clan’s.
The first time Lan Xiaobu headed to the Great Cosmos, he entered through the void plaza where the Moru World was located. This time, as he stepped onto the plaza, he saw the large floating characters in the void: Seven Heavens Void Plaza.
This delighted Lan Xiaobu greatly. To be honest, he felt no sense of belonging to the Moru World, not even a trace of fondness. As for the Great Wilderness World, he had never even been there, let alone felt any attachment. If the Dao Ancestor of the Great Wilderness World was still Hongjun, perhaps he might feel some recognition. But who was Yang Tian?
However, this void plaza was massive, yet there were hardly any people. In the vast, colossal void plaza, Lan Xiaobu’s divine sense only detected just over a hundred people. And these hundred or so were all gathered at the entrance, seemingly guarding it.
As for the commercial buildings, inns, streets, and other places, though they still existed, they were deserted.
The moment Lan Xiaobu landed at the entrance gate of the void plaza, a cultivator stopped him, “You want to enter the Great Cosmos?”
The cultivator’s tone was tinged with surprise, clearly shocked and disbelieving that Lan Xiaobu would choose to enter the Great Cosmos at this time.
Lan Xiaobu nodded, “That’s right, I do want to enter the Great Cosmos. What’s the matter?”
The cultivator said, “Life for human cultivators in the Great Cosmos is tough right now. Most people want to leave the Great Cosmos, so why are you choosing to enter now? Don’t you know that the Tianmeng Clan has invaded the human Ten Directions World, almost wiping it out completely?”
“Has the Ten Directions World already been destroyed?” Lan Xiaobu was shocked. He had returned to the Great Cosmos at least a hundred years ahead of schedule. Could he still have failed to arrive before the Tianmeng Clan obliterated the Ten Directions World?
“The Fanhe World, Moru World, Dunyi World, Xiutuo World, and Central World have basically been occupied by the Tianmeng Clan. The surviving human cultivators in these worlds have either fled to the remaining worlds or escaped beyond the Great Cosmos,” the cultivator replied.
“Which world is the Tianmeng Clan attacking now?” Lan Xiaobu pressed.
“They’re attacking our Seven Realms Heaven World, but fortunately, our ancestor is incredibly powerful and has withstood the Tianmeng Clan’s attacks for years. The Seven Heavens World still stands firm in the Great Cosmos. Many ancestors from other human worlds are now aiding our Seven Heavens World,” the cultivator said proudly.
Another cultivator nearby chuckled, “They always said the Emperor Lan Dao Ancestor of the Central World and Yang Tian of the Great Wilderness World were strong, but compared to our Seven Heavens World’s Dao Ancestor, they’re far inferior.”
“Our ancestor cultivates his own Great Dao. Those Tianmeng Clan cultivators are powerless against someone who cultivates their own Great Dao. They only rely on the suppression of heaven and earth’s rules to crush our human cultivators. Once human cultivators are free from those rules, the Tianmeng Clan is nothing,” another said disdainfully.
Lan Xiaobu breathed a sigh of relief. The Seven Heavens Great Dao must have formed its own system, otherwise, it couldn’t have withstood the Tianmeng Clan’s attacks. Now that he was entering the Great Cosmos, even if he couldn’t defeat the Tianmeng Clan, they wouldn’t be able to continue crushing the human race. He’d establish a foothold first.
“Let me go in, then,” Lan Xiaobu decided to join up with the Seven Heavens first.
The cultivator who had stopped him shook his head, “We can’t let you in. This place has been sealed, and we’re guarding it to keep a retreat path open and to prevent the Tianmeng Clan from cutting off our rear.”
Lan Xiaobu nodded. This was likely the Seven Heavens’ doing. If they couldn’t defeat the Tianmeng Clan, the Seven Heavens World could still evacuate from here.
Just as Lan Xiaobu was about to say he was a friend of the Seven Heavens, he suddenly thought of something and asked urgently, “If this is a retreat path, why are there only a hundred or so people guarding it?”
“Haha…” a cultivator laughed, “You don’t know, do you? The Great Cosmos has been sealed. No one can enter or leave, not even the Tianmeng Clan. Or rather, there’s only one place to leave the Great Cosmos, and that’s our Seven Acres Heaven’s exit to the void. Don’t think the Jicheng World hasn’t been destroyed, but they can’t control their world’s exit and can only seal it.
The gate here is a barrier personally set up by our Dao Ancestor, constructed with his own Great Dao’s principles, unaffected by the Great Cosmos’ rules. So, we only need a hundred or so people to guard it, because no Tianmeng Clan member can break through from the inside.”
“What if the Tianmeng Clan attacks from the outside, where we’re standing, into the Great Cosmos? Can you hold them off?” Lan Xiaobu sighed as he spoke, certain that if he hadn’t returned today, the Seven Heavens World would eventually be caught off guard by the Tianmeng Clan.
He understood the Seven Heavens’ reasoning. First, the Tianmeng Clan had used the Cosmic Tree to lock all exits of the Great Cosmos, except for the Seven Heavens World, which, by cultivating its own Great Dao, had set up a barrier with its own principles to control this exit. Second, even if the Tianmeng Clan could exit through other worlds and make their way to the Seven Heavens’ exit in the Great Cosmos, the void plaza where he now stood, it would take at least two hundred years.
The Seven Heavens likely believed they could manage this timeframe, and if they were truly outmatched, they could evacuate the Great Cosmos in less than two hundred years.
But Lan Xiaobu didn’t see it that way. Under normal circumstances, reaching the Seven Heavens’ exit from other exits in the Great Cosmos would take more than two hundred years, likely longer.
However, there were exceptions. Since the Cosmic Tree in the Great Cosmos favoured the Tianmeng Clan, could it allow them to shorten the distance and reach this plaza quickly? Or, for instance, someone like Hui Zhi could teleport to the Great Dream Star and then from there to this location. The total time required might not even be twenty days, let alone two hundred years.
Of course, Hui Zhi’s teleportation arrays on the Great Dream Star had been destroyed, but who could guarantee the Tianmeng Clan didn’t have similar teleportation methods?
“Step aside, I need to rearrange the barrier at this entrance,” Lan Xiaobu decided immediately.
He knew this entrance wasn’t primarily to prevent the Tianmeng Clan from invading but to serve as a retreat for human cultivators. And a hundred guards were far too few, though Lan Xiaobu also knew that even more guards would likely be useless if the Tianmeng Clan did come.
“Sorry, no one can enter here,” the guard’s tone turned cold.
Due to the Tianmeng Clan’s slaughter of humans, human cultivators had united as never before to face the Tianmeng Clan, which was why he had patiently explained things to Lan Xiaobu. But for Lan Xiaobu to meddle with the entrance, that was absolutely unacceptable. Not to mention rearranging the entrance barrier, even entering the Great Cosmos from here was impossible.
Just as Lan Xiaobu was about to explain, he suddenly thought of something and asked urgently, “You said earlier that the Fanhe World, Moru World, Dunyi World, Xiutuo World, and Central World were occupied by the Tianmeng Clan. Why wasn’t the Jicheng World mentioned?”
Lan Xiaobu was puzzled because the Jicheng World was the first human world in the Great Cosmos invaded by the Tianmeng Clan. Before he teleported away, nearly half of the Jicheng World had already been occupied. By all accounts, after he and Mo Wuji left, the Jicheng World shouldn’t have been able to hold out.
