Typically, when a saint achieves their first revolution, they condense their dao techniques around a single principle of the Great Dao—such as the Principle of Cause and Effect, the Principle of Karmic Force, or the Principles of Destiny or Merit. Even for those saints with exceptional aptitude, a robust dao foundation, and extraordinary comprehension, when progressing from the first to the ninth revolution, they usually rely on only two or three dao principles.
Using more isn’t a matter of unwillingness—it’s that their dao foundation can’t withstand it. Not only can the foundation not bear it, but they also lack the ability to comprehend so many dao principles.
Take the Curse Saint Fang Zhifan, for example. His entire life was devoted to comprehending the Dao of Curses. He advanced to a second-revolution saint through the Curse Dao. To reach the third revolution, he’d need to elevate his Curse Dao further, not switch to something like the Dao of Destruction, Merit, or Reincarnation to prove his third revolution.
But why should he follow the same path as others, relying on a single dao principle to consecutively prove all nine revolutions of sainthood?
Lan Xiaobu had entered the cultivation world through the Cosmic Dimensional Model, starting with the Golden Crow Technique before constructing the Taichuan Technique with the aid of the Cosmic Dimensional Model.
In truth, the Taichuan Technique was far superior to his Longevity Technique. Built upon the Cosmic Dimensional Model, it fused numerous Great Dao techniques and contained the profound truths of the Cosmic Dao. Its cultivation speed was unmatched by ordinary techniques.
For an average cultivator, abandoning the Taichuan Technique for some common method would be unthinkable.
What Lan Xiaobu was most grateful for was that he hadn’t clung to the Taichuan Technique. After advancing to the Immortal realm, he decisively discarded it and created his own Longevity Technique.
When the Longevity Technique was first conceived, it was riddled with flaws. His ability to fight above his level stemmed entirely from the solid foundation laid by the Taichuan Technique and his clear comprehension of the Great Dao—both heavily indebted to the Cosmic Dimensional Model. But as he continually refined the Longevity Technique, what other techniques could compare to it now?
Even if the Taichuan Technique had been perfected, it couldn’t hold a candle to his current Longevity Technique. The difference in intent alone was a vast gulf. The Taichuan Technique merely strengthened the self, while the Longevity Technique cleared all obstacles on the path to eternal life.
In other words, had he not switched to his Longevity Technique and stuck with the Taichuan Technique, he’d never be able to detach from the Cosmic Dimensional Model. As long as he sought progress, he’d be bound to it forever. The Taichuan Technique was built by the Cosmic Dimensional Model, requiring constant reliance on it. That’s why he now avoided using it unless absolutely necessary.
The Longevity Technique was different. When he first created it, he’d still used the Cosmic Dimensional Model to construct its dimensional framework for details he didn’t understand. Now, if he felt the Longevity Technique needed refinement, he could deduce and perfect it himself.
The name “Longevity Technique” might sound mundane, but its sole purpose was clear: to crush anything blocking his path to eternal life, to live forever amidst the vastness. No—even if that vastness crumbled, he wouldn’t fall, because he had the Longevity Realm.
Thus, his first-revolution sainthood didn’t need to mimic others. Through cultivating the Longevity Technique and forming the Longevity Realm, he’d even birthed a Destiny Dao Tree.
His sensitivity to the destiny of heaven and earth, and his own destiny, far surpassed any cultivator of the same level. So, for his first revolution, he could prove his sainthood with the Principle of Destiny. As for the second revolution, he’d decide later—it definitely wouldn’t involve karmic force, nor would he repeat destiny. Even the Scrolls of Destruction, Curses, or Severance weren’t under consideration.
After deciding to prove his first revolution with destiny, Lan Xiaobu activated the Longevity Technique, drawing in all the destiny and divine energy within the space. The Destiny Dao Tree in his consciousness began to spin slowly. Not only that, he continuously pulled chaotic energy and fed it into the Destiny Dao Tree.
Mysterious auras of the Great Dao began to swirl around him. In just half a year, Lan Xiaobu was entirely enveloped by intricate, profound waves of destiny.
The destiny of the entire Longevity Realm, and even the vast void beyond, was drawn in, frantically pouring into the charm of his dao.
The Destiny Dao Tree in his consciousness floated above his head, spinning wildly as it absorbed endless destiny and the principles of the Heavenly Dao.
Tens of millions of divine energy pills containing the Heart of the Universe burst apart, their energy swept away by Lan Xiaobu.
His aura grew increasingly powerful, the charm of his dao forming a rumbling sound in the space around him.
“Someone’s proving sainthood here?” A hemp-robed quasi-saint paused outside the small island where Lan Xiaobu was. He was stunned by the terrifying surge of destiny sweeping over.
Such an immense gathering of destiny—this was a sainthood proven through destiny, and it surely wasn’t just a first revolution. It might even surpass the third or fourth revolution.
Though he knew cultivating here for a few days could skyrocket his strength, possibly pushing him into the first revolution himself, he didn’t dare. He understood that staying would mean being detected by the proving saint. And once detected, he’d be as good as dead. No saint proving their dao would tolerate interference.
Swallowing hard, the quasi-saint turned and left. Compared to a first revolution, his life was worth more. Without a life, what was the point of proving anything?
At that moment, Lan Xiaobu floated within his protective array, drawing in endless divine spiritual energy and destiny. The seawater around the island had long formed a massive tidal ring, rising and falling, crashing endlessly against the island’s edges.
As Lan Xiaobu continued to gather destiny, his dao aura surged. The Destiny Dao Tree above his head didn’t shrink—it grew sturdier.
In just ten years, it reached nearly a hundred zhang tall.
Even without drawing from the Longevity Realm’s vast destiny, the destiny principles around him roared with power.
Within his Longevity Realm, life began to emerge—low-level spirit herbs and beasts appeared. The realm’s landscape gradually took shape…
But at that moment, Lan Xiaobu felt his dao principles spiraling into chaos. The Longevity Technique couldn’t suppress it. The Longevity Realm started collapsing, his lifespan corroded, and the world blurred…
How could this be? Lan Xiaobu snapped his eyes open. His dao was forged by the Longevity Technique, proven through destiny for the first revolution—why would it unravel his dao? Even if the universe collapsed, he had the Longevity Realm to condense a realm’s destiny.
With fierce will and confidence, he shattered the illusions into fragments, dispelling the fantasy!
Crack! As if some shackle had been blasted apart, an overwhelming power surged into Lan Xiaobu’s perception. He felt as though he could lift the Longevity Sea with a single hand.
Perhaps it was an illusion, but Lan Xiaobu knew—he’d stepped into the first revolution of sainthood.
So, proving the first revolution didn’t involve a thunder tribulation, but a dao tribulation. Too bad his dao was self-created, birthing the Longevity Realm—dao tribulations couldn’t touch him.
His aura grew even stronger, chaotic divine spirit veins and divine energy pills consumed as their energy transformed into vast, surging power, bolstering his dao.
Though invisible to others, Lan Xiaobu clearly sensed a golden dao ring forming within the charm of his Longevity Dao.
This was the mark of a first-revolution saint. Lan Xiaobu felt refreshed and invigorated. Now, he no longer had to bow to anyone. Even before that woman cultivating the Dao of Darkness, he’d have no trace of fear.
A seventh-revolution saint? So what? Even a ninth-revolution saint was still just an ordinary saint. Unless they transcended the ninth revolution into the Dao of Longevity, they’d remain bound by saintly principles.
Half of two chaotic divine spirit veins were consumed, and over twenty million divine energy pills with the Heart of the Universe’s aura were nearly depleted—less than a million remained. But Lan Xiaobu didn’t care. He could return to Saint Island. His leased cave there still had over twenty years left. By cultivating there and keeping the Divine Source Hall nearby, he’d have plenty of those pills.
Of course, the best would be taking the Heart of the Universe with him.
…
Saint Island hadn’t changed since Lan Xiaobu’s last visit. Upon returning, he noticed only two additional quasi-saint guards outside Golden Saint Dao City.
Sweeping his divine sense, he found no familiar faces. But then he frowned—he couldn’t sense Fang Zhifan.
That was odd. He’d cultivated in seclusion in Golden Saint Dao City for decades, and Fang Zhifan hadn’t left. Yet the moment he departed, Fang Zhifan vanished?
Setting aside how Fang Zhifan knew when he’d leave, Saint Island’s protection alone should’ve kept Fang Zhifan from departing.
With that thought, Lan Xiaobu quickened his pace to the entrance of Golden Saint Dao City, planted a high-grade divine spirit vein, and rushed inside.
He clearly remembered Fang Zhifan’s leased cave was among the premium cave cluster on the eastern side of the city. Though he’d never been there, he knew the general location.
Lan Xiaobu swiftly arrived at the cave he recalled Fang Zhifan occupying. Without hesitation, his divine sense tore into the cave’s defenses.
He’d planned to kill Fang Zhifan here—why would he care about breaking some minor rule by damaging a cave?
