Doting Billionaire Chapter 4001

“I’ll still try my best to convince them to leave. In a few days, I’ll go see my dad and my two sisters-in-law, and have them talk to my three brothers. If they still refuse to see reason, then we’ll just leave them be.”

“Do what you need to do. Out of sight, out of mind.”

It wasn’t that she didn’t care about sibling bonds, but her brothers didn’t value them.

What could she do?

Hai Ling said, “I’m not the type to harm innocent people. As long as they behave, don’t scheme, don’t pull tricks, and leave the center of Jiang City to return to the old Zheng family home, I’ll only take half of what they currently have.”

Leaving half of the wealth to Zheng Yifan and his brothers wouldn’t starve them. This was already giving face to Feng Qing.

“They won’t give up and will keep pulling tricks. Taking only half their wealth is already showing mercy.”

Though they’d only been siblings for two or three years, Feng Qing knew her three biological brothers well.

Their old mother hadn’t dealt with the three brothers because they were her biological sons. No matter how ruthless she was, she couldn’t bring herself to act harshly against them, so she left the matter to Feng Qing to handle.

Feng Qing wasn’t without a heart for forgiveness.

But her brothers hated her, showing no trace of sibling affection—none in the past, and certainly none now.

They wished she were dead.

Her willingness to plead with Hai Ling on their behalf was out of respect for their late mother, who, before passing, left most of the family wealth to her biological daughter.

The two talked in the office for a long while before Feng Qing took Hai Ling to tour the various departments and familiarize herself with the environment. They also visited some of Feng Group’s subsidiaries, though they couldn’t cover them all in one day.

Feng Qing said she’d take Hai Ling to the subsidiaries over the next few days, so Hai Ling could know which companies were under the Feng Group’s umbrella.

Meanwhile, the three Zheng brothers—Zheng Yifan and his siblings—left Feng Group and drove dozens of kilometers back to the old Zheng family home.

Their father, Zheng Hua, had moved back to the old family home to retire after the New Year, leaving the center of Jiang City.

Zheng Hua wanted to lead by example, urging his three sons to preserve their current strength and return to the old family home to develop.

He hadn’t received a share of the vast inheritance left by his late wife.

His retirement arrangements were left to his three sons.

The inheritance meant for his grandchildren was handed over by Feng Qing to her sisters-in-law.

Feng Qing said her brothers were unreliable and prone to affairs. She feared the wealth meant for her nephews and nieces would be squandered by her brothers on mistresses.

Entrusting it to her sisters-in-law, who couldn’t use it but could safeguard it, was safer than giving it to her brothers.

Mothers with money would spend it on their children.

Fathers with money would only think of producing more children, then picking the most capable as their heir.

This was a distinction Feng Qing had seen online about parents with wealth.

The inheritance meant for her brothers hadn’t been released by Feng Qing yet.

It wasn’t that she coveted their share. She was waiting for them to exhaust themselves and lose what they had. Then, she’d distribute the inheritance their mother left for them.

That way, her three brothers wouldn’t end up destitute.

But her good intentions were unappreciated. Her brothers threatened to sue her over the inheritance, demanding an equal split and refusing to acknowledge their mother’s will, claiming Feng Qing had forged it.

If they wanted a lawsuit, so be it—who was afraid?

Feng Qing hadn’t forged the will and wasn’t scared of their accusations.

In the Feng family, Zheng Hua lived with his tail between his legs.

But in the old Zheng family home, he was fawned over and flattered.

Only there could he stand tall, hold his head high, and feel like a victorious general returning from a great battle.

The old Zheng family’s ancestral home was a self-built grand villa, complete with a swimming pool, basketball court, garden, and pavilion.

It wasn’t as luxurious or prestigious as the Feng family mansion, but in their hometown, Zheng Hua’s house was considered quite extravagant.
