“Your and Dad’s wellness routine seems effective. When I retire, I’ll follow your lead and focus on health too.”
Mother Lan said, “You’re still young, far from retirement. Focus on work for now.”
If her children reached retirement age, she might not be around anymore. Mother Lan didn’t like discussing such gloomy topics.
The mother and daughter went downstairs together.
Zhang Cheng had been chatting with Father Lan for a while, mostly about wellness topics. Zhang Cheng was patient, listening attentively and even adding a few comments.
They got along quite well.
After chatting for a bit, Father Lan was very impressed with Zhang Cheng.
Young people usually didn’t care for his wellness talk.

Her light makeup highlighted her natural beauty. Usually seen in business suits, tonight’s white evening dress, paired with a necklace and earrings, made her look radiant, elegant, and refined.
Lan Ruoruo smiled, “Let’s go, we don’t want to be late.”
“Alright.”
Zhang Cheng stood, “Uncle, Auntie, Ruoruo and I will head out now.”
“Go on, Zhang Cheng. Remember what I said, look after Ruoruo, don’t let her drink too much.”
Zhang Cheng replied as they walked, “Auntie, I’ll remember.”
Lan Ruoruo said, “Mum, I haven’t even had a drink yet, and you’re already telling Zhang Cheng to watch me, stop me from drinking. What’s a banquet without drinks?”
She’d already said she wouldn’t get drunk.
Her tolerance was so high, she could outdrink most men.
When she first joined the family company, she worked in sales, where she honed her drinking skills.
Later, her grandfather brought her to work by his side, learning from him. With frequent business socializing, she had to drink, and her tolerance grew stronger.
Her grandfather didn’t approve of a girl drinking so much, but in the business world, sometimes you had no choice.
Father and Mother Lan saw them to the door, watching as they got into the car and drove off. Only then did the couple head back inside.
“Ruoruo looked especially beautiful tonight, a bit different from usual. That’s the change love brings. She might really like the Zhang boy.”
