“After work we have dinner together, go shopping, watch a film, or take a weekend road trip. Isn’t that happy, sweet, and fulfilling enough?”
Lan Dongxiao shook his head at her. “You really don’t know how to enjoy yourself. Big brother is willing to take on your workload and you still don’t want to play?”
Lan Ruoruo had already finished almost everything. “I think the way Zhan Wei and I are doing things is perfectly fine.”
Each item in the breakfast Zhan Wei prepared was only a small portion, but once she finished them all she felt satisfyingly full.
Zhan Wei came out carrying two cups of coffee and handed one to each of the brothers. Then he went back to the pantry to fetch his own cup.
Ever since they started dating, Zhan Wei was never in a hurry to get to his own office. Every day he wanted to linger by Lan Ruoruo’s side, wishing he could turn into an accessory she wore so they would never have to part.
Even when they were both at work, he still felt they were separated and missed her terribly.
Now he finally understood why his older brothers became lazy about work once they fell in love.

“Last night you two caused quite a stir. The media covered it and the story hit the top of our city’s gossip trending lists.”
Lan Dongxiao was actually delighted.
The proposal scene Zhan Wei arranged was beautiful, and he proposed in front of so many people. It proved he truly loved his sister deeply.

Zhan Wei sat down beside Lan Ruoruo. “I didn’t intend to create such a sensation. I just wanted it to be romantic.”
As long as he put his heart into it and Ruoruo felt it, that was enough.
“When will the wedding be?”

“I rang my parents this morning. I’ve asked them to come over today.”
Lan Dongxiao nodded, then sighed. “You two are moving really fast and everything is going incredibly smoothly. It’s enough to make people envious and jealous. You didn’t even have a single proper love rival.”
His sister did have admirers, but they were all sensible. Once they realised Zhan Wei only had eyes for Ruoruo, they gave up. They knew they couldn’t compare and didn’t dare target her either. Nobody could afford to offend the Lan family behind her.
Of course, Ruoruo herself was no pushover.
Those female rivals were rational. After confessing to Zhan Wei and being turned down, they retreated gracefully to a normal business relationship and let go completely. Truly impressive career women who could pick up and put down feelings with ease.
Zhan Wei never really had any serious rivals at all.
Zhang Cheng had only gone on a blind date with Ruoruo. Neither of them had developed real feelings, so he didn’t count as a rival.
Lan Ruoruo looked at her brother. “You should hurry up and bring my future sister-in-law home too. Isn’t it nice that everything is going smoothly for us? Do you want me to have countless love rivals?”
“You did have quite a few admirers. It’s just that they were sensible, recognised a lost cause when they saw one, and withdrew gracefully.”
“Exactly. Even if ten rivals like President Su showed up, I wouldn’t be scared.”
Actually, Lan Ruoruo rather admired rivals like President Su: upright, rational, able to accept reality.
They wouldn’t pester endlessly or do anything harmful.
When she thought about it, her romance with Zhan Wei really had been remarkably smooth.
