The old lady had specially registered for Zeng Xiaoya’s slot.

“Grandma, are you hungry?”
Zhan Yue asked with concern, worried that Grandma might get hungry.

The old lady glared at him and said, “How does Grandma usually teach you all? Have you learnt it all in a dog’s belly?”
“This is just a check-up for Grandma, and there’s nothing urgent. Whatever number you get in the queue is the number you get. Why jump the queue? Others come here because they really need treatment for illness. Don’t take their chance just because we know the doctor.”
“Grandma isn’t hungry. Stop asking every few minutes. If you say something like that again next time, I’ll have your older brothers teach you properly how to behave.”
Zhan Yue was scolded by Grandma and smiled awkwardly. “Grandma, I was wrong. I was just worried you’d be hungry.”
“I promise I won’t say anything like that again.”
Grandma always told them that even if they held power, they should not abuse it.
They must not rely on their family background to ignore rules, or disregard other people’s lives. All beings are equal, no one is nobler than another.
Seeing his good attitude in admitting his mistake, the old lady stopped criticising him.
At that moment, the old lady’s number was called.
Zhan Yue quickly helped Grandma up. “Grandma, it’s your turn. Take it slow.”
He supported Grandma inside, and the old lady did not stop him, letting him assist her.
When Zeng Xiaoya saw the grandmother and grandson enter, she was momentarily stunned, then asked with concern, “Grandma Zhan, what’s wrong? Where do you feel unwell?”
Grandma Zhan coming to the hospital probably meant a serious issue, because the Zhan family had a family doctor. Minor problems would be handled by the family doctor, and only major issues requiring hospitalisation would bring them here.
“I’m not unwell. It’s just been a while since my last check-up, so today I asked Old Eight to accompany me for a physical examination. Dr Zeng, please issue a few examination forms for me.”
After sitting down, the old lady explained with a smile, so as not to worry Zeng Xiaoya.
Hearing that the old lady was there for a check-up, Zeng Xiaoya understood. It was just a routine examination, which had frightened her into thinking the old lady had a major problem.
Thinking that the Zhan family knew Dr Cheng and his disciple well, with good personal relations, if the old lady really had something serious, the Zhan family would have contacted Dr Cheng long ago.

The old lady extended her arm, letting Zeng Xiaoya measure her blood pressure.
After taking the old lady’s blood pressure, Zeng Xiaoya said, “Grandma Zhan’s blood pressure is a bit high, but fortunately, it’s not at the level requiring medication. At Grandma Zhan’s age, it’s normal to have some minor issues. No problem, don’t worry too much.”
The old lady responded, “At my age, all bodily functions naturally decline. How can it compare to when I was young?”
“Some small issues are perfectly normal.”
Zeng Xiaoya felt that the old lady’s positive mindset was the main reason for her longevity.
She issued several examination forms for the old lady.
Then she handed the forms to Zhan Yue, asking him to go and pay.
The old lady stood up, and Zeng Xiaoya quickly rose to support her. The old lady did not stop her.
Zeng Xiaoya helped the old lady out of her consultation room and sat her down on a chair by the door. She said to the old lady, “Grandma Zhan, just wait here for Zhan Yue. Don’t follow him running around. When he comes back after paying, he can take you for the tests.”
