Zhan Yue supported the old lady as they went to do the examinations.
In a large hospital, there were many people. No matter which examination they went for, they had to queue.

The grandmother and grandson worried that Zeng Xiaoya might have left, so the old lady told Zhan Yue to go to the consultation room first to check. She would wait at the hospital entrance. If Zeng Xiaoya came out, she could find an excuse to stop her.
Zhan Yue said with concern, “Grandma, I’m not comfortable leaving you alone.”
“Who could possibly eat Grandma? Go with peace of mind. Even though Grandma is old, not just anyone can bully me. Hurry up, don’t let Grandma’s efforts this morning go to waste.”
“Zhan Grandma, Zhan Yue.”
Just as the old lady was urging Zhan Yue to go to the consultation room to find Zeng Xiaoya, Zeng Xiaoya came out instead. Seeing the grandmother and grandson, she took the initiative to approach and greet them.
“Dr Zeng, are you off work?”
The old lady asked with a beaming smile.
Zeng Xiaoya was no longer wearing her doctor’s uniform. She said, “Yes, I’m off. Grandma Zhan, have you just finished all your examinations?”
“Yes, we just finished. There were too many people. Every examination required queuing.”
It was Zhan Yue who answered.
Zeng Xiaoya nodded understandingly. “That’s how it is.”
There were many people every day.
What made Zeng Xiaoya admire the old lady was that the elderly woman actually had plenty of connections to jump the queue and did not need to wait like everyone else, yet she did not do so.
She waited honestly, queued honestly, refused any special treatment, and did not use her connections.
Only such a self-disciplined elder could raise outstanding grandsons like the Zhan Yue brothers.
“Dr Zeng, thank you so much for today.”
The old lady warmly took hold of Zeng Xiaoya’s hand.
The three of them walked out together.
“I didn’t do anything special. Grandma Zhan doesn’t need to thank me. That is all part of my job, what I ought to do. It should be me thanking Grandma Zhan for trusting me so much and registering for my slot.”
Even though any doctor could issue examination forms, it was because the old lady thought highly of her that she chose to register with a young doctor like her.
“I very much support Dr Zeng’s work. Dr Zeng, let’s have dinner together. I’ve asked my eldest grandson to reserve a private room for me at the Guancheng Grand Hotel. I find we get along particularly well and want to chat more with you.”
Zeng Xiaoya instinctively replied, “How can I let Grandma Zhan treat me to dinner? It should be me treating Grandma Zhan.”
“We get along so well, why be so polite about who pays? It’s just a meal either way. Come with Grandma to eat.”
When the old lady said this, she took it as Zeng Xiaoya having agreed.
Zeng Xiaoya truly found it difficult to refuse the old lady’s enthusiasm.
