Both Father Lin and Mother Lin nodded.
“Think about it carefully. This is a major event in your life, closely linked to your happiness in the latter half of it.”
“Whether your future wife treats us well is secondary. After all, it is you two who will live together. Once you are married, you will definitely stay in the city to live, only returning to the old home occasionally.”
“Your father and I will also stay in the old home long-term. When we are too old to move, your siblings will take care of us, so we will not trouble you too much.”
“So, you should mainly consider yourself.”
“When you cannot have mutual affection, choose the person who loves you the most, because she loves you and will treat you well, tolerating everything about you.”

He Yuehua finished washing the dishes and tidied up the kitchen before removing her apron and coming out.
“Yuehua, thank you for your hard work. You bought groceries, cooked for us, and even washed the dishes.”
Mother Lin beckoned He Yuehua to come over and sit down to rest, her face full of smiles.
He Yuehua walked over. Mother Lin quietly patted her husband beside her, signalling him to move a little and make space for He Yuehua to sit next to their son.
“Uncle, Auntie, have some fruit.”
He Yuehua naturally sat down beside Doctor Lin, reached out, picked up a plate of fruit, and offered it to Father Lin and Mother Lin.
The fruit had all been cut into small pieces by her.
“Yes, we will have some.”
Mother Lin took the plate of fruit. “You eat too. You have been busy all day. Every time your uncle and I come over, you are bustling about. We both feel quite embarrassed.”
“That is what I should do. I did not do much, just buy some groceries and cook. These are things I do every day anyway.”
Even when Father Lin and Mother Lin did not come, she often cooked for herself most of the time and rarely ordered takeaway.
The more she cooked, the better her culinary skills became.
Doctor Lin increasingly enjoyed eating the meals she prepared.
Her own mother had told her to diligently practise her cooking skills, to capture Doctor Lin’s stomach, and sooner or later she would win him over.
He Yuehua had not only captured Doctor Lin’s stomach, but she had almost captured his parents’ stomachs as well.
“Uncle, Auntie, are you still going out this afternoon?”
He Yuehua picked up another plate of fruit. She used a disposable fork to spear a piece of fruit flesh and handed it to Lin Jian before eating herself.
Father Lin and Mother Lin watched this scene with great satisfaction.
This girl truly had eyes only for their Ah Jian, showing him such thoughtful and meticulous care. Although her family circumstances were not particularly good, and at present almost all her salary went back home.
In their hometown, most girls who worked before marriage gave their earnings back to their family as repayment for their parents’ upbringing.
So they could accept that He Yuehua currently sent her salary home. This could be called supporting her original family.
If after marriage she still constantly thought of her natal family, taking everything there and continuing to give her salary to them, that would be truly supporting her original family excessively.
He Yuehua had told them that once married, she would not do that. After marriage, having her own small family, she would prioritise her own small family. If their living conditions were good, she would help her natal family only when they needed it.
If she herself was just getting by ordinarily, how would she have the ability or spare money to support her natal family?
She would already be good not to go back and gnaw on her parents and siblings-in-law.
“We will not go out this afternoon then. My feet are exhausted from walking. Let us rest properly at home for half a day.”
Mother Lin patted her legs. “When people get old, if they do not use their legs much, walking for half a day makes them unbearably tired. Usually at home planting some vegetables or tending the fields, it is not that tiring at all.”
