While Zhan Yue was having breakfast, he overheard his grandmother calling his two sisters-in-law on the phone.
Hai Tong said on the call, “I originally wanted to go with Grandma, but she went over last night. It was not convenient for me to follow because I had to bring Beibei. I was just talking to Zhan Yin about it. In a bit, our family of four will pick up Su Meng and head to Old Eight’s place for a meal.”
“Right after we finished talking, Grandma called. Grandma, do we need to buy anything?”
The old lady replied, “You can buy whatever you think is suitable. Mainly get some things for the children to eat, drink, and play with. Old Eight does not have much here. I am afraid the children will feel bored if they come over.”
“Also prepare a small gift for Xiaoya. Nothing too expensive. Right now Old Eight has not won her over yet, so do not give anything valuable for the time being. Xiaoya would not accept it.”

After giving instructions to Hai Tong, the old lady called Zhan Yichen next. Zhan Yichen and his wife were still lazing in bed.
The couple was being affectionate with each other, almost about to start their baby-making plan, when the old lady’s call came through.

The old lady was getting on in years. They were always most afraid of getting a call from her in case it was an emergency.

He said, “We are usually so busy. Weekends are the only time we get to rest. Sleeping in a bit longer is not a crime.”
Normally the couple were each busy with their own things. Even though they slept in the same bed, they barely had time to chat, let alone be intimate.
For intimacy, they had to coordinate their schedules, avoid social obligations, come home early, and wait until the child was asleep. Otherwise they would worry about being interrupted.

The old lady asked.
