“They are evenly matched.”
Zhan Yue had great confidence in his nephew and would not underestimate Su Meng either. The children from the Su family were usually a bit stronger in fist and leg skills.
Sure enough, after more than ten minutes, the two children stopped fighting. Both lay on the ground, panting heavily. Neither lost nor won. It could only be said that they fought to a draw.
After a while, Baby got up from the ground, walked over and said to Zeng Xiaoya: “Aunt Zeng, can I swing on the swing with you?”
“Of course you can.”
“Aunt Zeng, I want to sit too.”
Su Meng ran over as well, also wanting to sit on the swing.
Zeng Xiaoya simply got off, making space for the two little ones. They were not like her, content with a gentle swing. They wanted Eighth Uncle to push much harder. They liked swinging really high.
Their laughter echoed throughout the entire backyard.
Not long after, the two Zhan Yin brothers arrived with the two younger ones. Lele and Beibei saw their older brothers having fun. They immediately broke free from their father’s hands and ran towards their brothers.
“Big brother, second brother.”
Zhan Yue greeted his two older brothers.
Zeng Xiaoya also politely said hello.
Zhan Yin said gently: “We had just stepped out of the door when we heard constant laughter coming from the backyard. The two little ones insisted that their brothers were in the backyard. They wanted to join the fun.”
Zhan Yue smiled and said: “Baby and Ah Meng were making so much noise. Their laughter carried far. It would be strange if you couldn’t hear it. Even Beibei recognised her brother’s laugh, so of course she was sure he was in the backyard.”
“Exactly. There’s no children’s playground here. I’ve planted almost everything with trees. The two of them climb trees to look at bird nests, swing on the swing, and exchange some martial arts moves. They still have a great time playing.”
They kept repeating the same things without getting bored. Instead, the more they played, the wilder they became.
Usually Zhan Yue thought his nephew was too sensible and lacked the naughty side typical of children. Only today did he realise that he still understood his nephew far too little.
With playmates around, Baby could tear the house apart and even the sky. He was extremely mischievous.
“You could clear some space, buy some children’s play equipment and install it. Then when your nephews and nieces come over in the future, they’ll have a place to play.”
Zeng Xiaoya suggested.
In her eyes, Zhan Yue’s villa was too big. Both the front and back yards were large. The front yard had a basketball court, a swimming pool, several flower beds and an open-air parking area.
The backyard was even bigger, but he had planted it all with trees. For children, there really was not much fun there.
Zhan Yue said: “That makes sense. Then I’ll have someone cut down some trees, buy some outdoor fitness equipment, and also things children like, such as outdoor slides. We can set up the kind of castles they enjoy playing in.”
“Eighth Uncle, make it like the playground at the old house.”
Baby heard the adults discussing the topic and shouted loudly.
Zhan Yue laughed and said: “Eighth Uncle’s place is small. I can’t build a whole playground like the old house for you to play in. Having a slide and a small castle for you would already be good enough.”
He then said to Zeng Xiaoya: “Our family’s old house has a children’s playground. Grandma built it for us brothers. After Baby was born, Grandma had all the equipment in the playground replaced with brand new ones.”
