Zeng Xiaoya still greeted him politely and invited Doctor Lin to sit down.
Doctor Lin did not sit. He looked at Zhan Yue and said, “I came to find Mr Zhan. I guessed Mr Zhan would be here, and sure enough, you are.”
Zhan Yue raised an eyebrow. So the rival was looking for him. What now, did he want to fight him for Zeng Xiaoya?
“Doctor Lin is looking for me? Is there something?”
Zhan Yue remained seated and asked Doctor Lin, “If there is anything, just say it here.”
Doctor Lin said, “Mr Zhan, can we go outside and talk? I would like to invite Mr Zhan to the coffee shop at the end of the street for a sit-down.”
Zhan Yue put on a helpless expression, stood up, and said to Zeng Xiaoya, “Xiaoya, I am afraid I will not get to drink the tea you brewed tonight. I will come another day when I have time and drink your tea then.”
“Doctor Lin, let us go. You are treating me to coffee.”
Doctor Lin nodded to the second aunt, gave Zeng Xiaoya a deep look for a couple of seconds, then followed Zhan Yue out.
He had also driven here, so the two of them each drove their own cars to the coffee shop at the street corner ahead.
The second aunt and Xiaoya both followed them out and watched the two cars drive away. The second aunt said to her niece, “They are going to a coffee shop. At most they will just exchange a few sharp words. They will not come to blows.”

She just felt that because she had been getting a bit closer to Zhan Yue, Senior Lin now saw Zhan Yue as a love rival and kept targeting him. She felt sorry for Zhan Yue because of it.
“Second aunt, should I keep some distance from Zhan Yue? I feel like Zhan Yue is being dragged into this because of me. Because of his house renovation and because I get along well with Grandma Zhan, I ended up getting a little closer to him.”
“Senior Lin treats Zhan Yue as a rival and keeps going after him. I really feel bad for Zhan Yue.”
The second aunt said, “If you walk straight and sit upright, what is there to fear? Besides, even if you get a bit closer to Zhan Yue, so what? You are unmarried and have no boyfriend. Zhan Yue is single too.”
“Getting a little closer does not break any law. Doctor Lin just feels he is not as good as Zhan Yue, so the pressure builds up, and that is why he acts this way.”

“He even has a backup plan himself.”

Zeng Xiaoya laughed, linked arms with her second aunt, and the two of them walked back into the clinic.
“I always feel like second aunt is trying to sell me off or something.”
“How could that be? You are my niece. I watched you grow up. My love for you is no less than for your cousins. I treat you like my own daughter. I dote on you so much I cannot even bear to let anything happen to you. How could I possibly sell you?”
At most she would just give a little push to help Zhan Yue win Xiaoya over.
The second aunt really thought highly of Zhan Yue.
The more she looked at him, the more she liked him. She had even secretly taken photos of Zhan Yue in private and sent them to her brother and sister-in-law for approval.
Although her brother and sister-in-law had no time to come back and had not met Zhan Yue in person, Xiaoya’s eldest brother had met him. After seeing the photos, Xiaoya’s parents had no objections.
They did not have Xiaoya’s feeling of not being good enough for Zhan Yue. They thought their own child was excellent and that Zhan Yue was a good match for her.
