Heaven Devourer Chapter 113

A demon sneaking into the cave mansion?

Mo Fan’s brows furrowed upon hearing this, and a figure immediately came to mind as he asked, “Is it a one-eyed demon?”

This time, a strange glint flashed in Bai Yaoyao’s eyes. She looked at Mo Fan for a moment before nodding, “Indeed, it’s a one-eyed wolf demon, with cultivation around the mid-Demon Soldier level.”

“It really is that One-Eye!”

Seeing Bai Yaoyao confirm, Mo Fan’s expression darkened considerably.

Thinking about it, he had nearly not made it back this time, and he had wondered why Venom Fang’s arrival was so perfectly timed. Now, it seemed his every move was likely being watched.

Or rather, after he left Black Wind Mountain, Venom Fang had sent One-Eye to infiltrate Spring Pool Cave, with the simple goal of searching for the human skin scroll inscribed with the *Ten Thousand Poisons Body*. Naturally, they found nothing, which led to Venom Fang’s ambush later on.

Realising this, Mo Fan’s gaze turned icy, and he suddenly recalled something.

Venom Fang had personally told him that he learned about Mo Fan killing the scorpion demon Heizi from one of Mo Fan’s underlings.

This meant there was a traitor among his own demons!

With this thought, Mo Fan immediately looked at Bai Yaoyao in front of him but quickly dismissed the idea.

In his view, Bai Yaoyao was the least likely to betray him, and she wasn’t well-versed in the details of prior events.

“What’s wrong?” Bai Yaoyao keenly noticed Mo Fan’s gaze, her brows knitting slightly.

“Nothing, just realised there might be a traitor among my underlings. For such a person, this captain must root them out!”

Mo Fan shook his head, then said to Bai Yaoyao, “I’ll leave Big Head to you. You’re both water-attuned demons, so have him help oversee the dragon loach cultivation process going forward.

If possible, I’d like you both to explore the bottom of Spring Pool and find out where it leads.”

“Alright.”

Bai Yaoyao nodded, then turned to Big Head beside Mo Fan, who was still staring at her intently. She said coldly, “If you dare act rudely again, I’ll dig out your eyeballs and eat them!”

“Er… Snake Lady, you’ve got it wrong. I wasn’t being rude, it’s just that you’re too beautiful, and I couldn’t help myself…”

Big Head’s words were like a thunderbolt, making even Mo Fan’s face twitch.

Goddamn *Snake Lady*…

He promptly turned and left, unwilling to get involved in the mess between these two demons. Soon, Big Head’s miserable screams echoed behind him.

Since he knew there was a traitor among his underlings, Mo Fan wouldn’t let it slide. He immediately headed to the hillside cave mansion where Dali and the other three demons resided.

At that moment, the three demons were sprawled out lazily, basking in the morning’s first rays of sunlight.

Seeing Mo Fan arrive, they were startled, scrambling to their feet and bowing, “Greetings, Master!”

“Master, when did you get back?!”

The rabbit demon Red Eyes spoke first with a grin, somewhat smugly adding, “Master, while you were gone, I didn’t touch the dice even once. If you don’t believe me, ask this big dumb ox!”

“I can vouch for that,” the ox demon Dali nodded with a smile.

“Did Master go to the human realm again?”

Pig Gentleman sniffed the air, looking at Mo Fan in surprise.

“Your nose is sharp as ever. I did make a trip to the human realm.”

Mo Fan nodded, then looked at the three demons and asked, “Is there nothing you want to tell me?”

“Er… what does Master mean?” Red Eyes asked cautiously.

“What did I instruct you before I left?”

“Have you all forgotten?!”

Mo Fan gave a cold snort, his expression turning somewhat stern.

“This…”

Seeing Mo Fan’s sour mood, Red Eyes and Pig Gentleman didn’t dare say much, both turning their gazes to Dali.

“Master, before you left, you told us three to keep a close eye on the demons under your command, to make sure they didn’t cause trouble. You also specifically told me to watch Red Eyes and keep him from gambling with dice,” Dali said in his deep, rumbling voice.

“Hm.”

Mo Fan nodded, then asked, “Have you three been together the entire month?”

“Yes, since we had to keep an eye on Red Eyes to stop him from slipping up, we were almost always together. Even when we went to check on those four, we went as a group,” Dali nodded.

“I see. Now, go bring those four to me. I have something to announce.”

“Yes, Master!”

Watching the backs of Dali, Red Eyes, and Pig Gentleman as they left, the coldness in Mo Fan’s eyes faded. Clearly, these three were not the traitors.

That left the traitor to be among Sparrow Chirp, Spider Demon Old Eight, Beetle Demon Old Six, and Crab Demon Old Three.

Mo Fan knew Sparrow Chirp best; though talkative, she was unlikely to betray him.

Thus, the greatest suspicion fell on the other three demons.

With this realisation, Mo Fan sat down outside Dali’s cave mansion.

Soon, Dali, Red Eyes, and Pig Gentleman returned, accompanied by the other four demons.

“Greetings, Master!”

The demons stood in line and bowed to Mo Fan, but he didn’t respond, merely gazing at them calmly.

Seeing Mo Fan remain silent, the demons didn’t dare speak either, maintaining their respectful postures, looking rather comical.

“This captain worked hard for you all during my absence, yet some of you have no regard for loyalty, daring to collude with outside demons, nearly causing my death on the way back!”

Mo Fan’s words made all the demons’ eyes widen.

“Master, who’s the damn traitor colluding with other demons to harm you?!”

“I’ll be the first to deal with him!!”

Sparrow Chirp was the first to step forward, pledging loyalty, glaring fiercely at the other demons.

“Exactly, daring to harm Master! Don’t they know how good Master is to us?!”

Red Eyes nodded, directing his gaze at Spider Demon Old Eight and the others.

“Jumpy Rabbit, what the hell do you mean, staring at us brothers?!”

Spider Demon Old Eight was instantly displeased.

“You know what you’ve done! We demons who’ve followed Master since he came to the mountain would never harm him!

But you three are different. You were originally the scorpion demon’s personal followers. Now that the scorpion demon is dead, your status has plummeted, and you must be resentful!

So if it’s not you who betrayed Master, who else could it be?!”

Red Eyes snorted, his analysis sounding quite convincing, earning a silent nod from Mo Fan.

“You bastard, how dare you slander us brothers like that!”

Old Eight was furious and about to confront Red Eyes when Mo Fan shouted, “Enough!”

“I’ll find out who the traitor is myself.”

“But before that, I’ll give the traitor one last chance to step forward and confess. Otherwise, once I find out, there’ll be no mercy!”

Mo Fan’s gaze swept over the demons, but all appeared indignant, none showing panic or stepping forward.

“Very well, since the traitor won’t come forward, I’ll interrogate you myself!”

“Now, one by one, enter Dali’s cave mansion for my questioning!”

With that, Mo Fan strode into Dali’s cave.

The first to enter was none other than Spider Demon Old Eight, seemingly eager to prove his innocence. But as soon as his gaze met Mo Fan’s, he froze in place.
