Heaven Devourer Chapter 15

Not only Mo Fan, but all the other demons turned their gazes to the Demon King, seated at the head like a black whirlwind, curious about what opportunity he would grant the toad.

The three generals, including the red-robed one, showed a hint of surprise in their eyes. They hadn’t expected the Great King to be so generous today. Perhaps it was related to the human beauty offered earlier, putting him in high spirits.

As for the lesser demons in the cave, they were quite envious of Mo Fan and his companions. When they first joined the mountain, they hadn’t received such treatment.

“As for this little toad… he’s just too ugly. Keeping him in my Black Wind Mountain would surely tarnish my reputation. Other demon mountains would mock us for it.”

Just as Mo Fan’s face lit up with anticipation, the Demon King’s words struck him like a blow.

Damn it, you look like a lump of charcoal, and you dare call *me* ugly?

Have you no self-awareness?

Mo Fan seethed with resentment but didn’t dare voice it, anxiously awaiting the Demon King’s final verdict.

“But I’ve set a rule long ago: any beast that transforms into a demon within Black Wind Mountain’s territory can join us.

Since it’s my own rule, I can’t change it lightly. This puts me in a bit of a bind.”

The Demon King frowned slightly, his bell-like black eyes shifting as he looked at the three generals below and smiled, “Here’s an idea. Any of you generals willing to take this ugly thing?”

At these words, the three generals seated behind stone tables exchanged glances. The burly man in a white robe grinned, “My lesser demons are all strong and sturdy. This little toad’s as puny as a dwarf. I definitely don’t want him.”

“If even Old White doesn’t want him, I certainly don’t,” the yellow-robed general said, shaking his head.

All eyes then turned to the red-robed general, and even the Demon King spoke, “Poison Fang, it seems your lesser demons are smaller in stature. Are you willing to take this toad demon?”

“Great King, this ugly thing just injured my White Hair. If not for your sake, I’d have swallowed him whole. Take him in? No way,” the red-robed general, Poison Fang, replied coolly.

Hearing this, Mo Fan’s heart chilled, and he felt a pang of sorrow for his plight.

He’d struggled so hard to become a demon, travelled far to reach this demon mountain, only to find no great demon willing to accept him. What kind of nonsense was this?

Was he, Mo Fan, doomed to remain a lesser demon forever?

He knew that without joining this demon mountain, he’d never learn true demon cultivation methods, making further progress impossible.

Though spiritual herbs could aid transformation, he hadn’t found a single one in two months, showing that path wasn’t easy either.

“Well…”

Seeing none of the generals wanted the toad demon, the Demon King shook his head helplessly and said to Mo Fan, “Little toad, you see how it is. Since none of the generals want you, there’s no place for you in Black Wind Mountain. Go back where you came from.”

“Great King, since there’s no place for this ugly thing in Black Wind Mountain, he must be a wild demon. That means we can settle the matter of him injuring my White Hair,” Poison Fang interjected with a grin. “Since he’s a wild demon who harmed my subordinate, I suggest we flay this unsightly thing and make him into a feast. Perfect for drinking, isn’t it?”

At these words, Mo Fan was horrified, his hair standing on end!

This demon wanted to eat him!

“Well…”

The Demon King paused at Poison Fang’s words, seeming to find it a bit improper but also reasonable, leaving him momentarily at a loss for a rebuttal.

Mo Fan’s heart sank, and he hurriedly said, “Great King Grandpa, my true form is a poisonous toad, one of the five poisons, full of toxic glands. I’m inedible, and my flesh is bitter!”

“Poisonous too?”

The Demon King’s thick brows shot up, glaring at Mo Fan with some annoyance. “What’s the point of you, toad demon? You’re ugly, inedible—what use are you?!”

“Great King, though toads are poisonous, the toxins are mostly in the skin. Flay it, and it’s edible,” Poison Fang added, twisting the knife, clearly determined to see Mo Fan dead.

Mo Fan’s heart trembled, sweat pouring as he hurriedly said, “Great King Grandpa, I’ve heard humans say golden toads bring wealth and fortune. Though I’m a bit ugly, I’m a symbol of prosperity. If Black Wind Mountain takes me in, you’ll surely have endless wealth!

In a way, I’m not a cursed demon but a fortune demon, a wealth demon!

Please, Great King Grandpa, reconsider!!”

“Oh? So you’re saying if we don’t take you in, Black Wind Mountain will face ruin and disaster?”

Poison Fang sneered, his words undoing all of Mo Fan’s efforts and angering the Demon King seated above.

“No, no, I wouldn’t dare!!”

Mo Fan was too scared to look up, his heart twisting with rage as he thought, *You dog, you won’t rest until I’m dead, huh?

All I did was injure one of your bird demons. Is that worth this vendetta?

Damn you, thirty years east, thirty years west. If I, Mo Fan, survive this, I’ll flay and cook you myself!!*

“Roar—”

“Hahaha… I’ve finally transformed!!”

At that moment, a tiger’s roar shook the entire cave.

Erha, beside Mo Fan, suddenly sprouted a human head, brimming with excitement.

Though newly transformed, his aura far surpassed that of ordinary lesser demons, carrying an innate regal dominance.

“Thanks to Great King Grandpa for granting me this chance, or I’d never have transformed in my lifetime!”

After a long roar, Erha knelt, kowtowing repeatedly to the Demon King.

“I thank Great King Grandpa too!”

A clear, pleasant voice followed.

Mo Fan turned to see the rabbit demon, now greatly transformed, her upper body fully human, exposing two full, tender features.

“Hahaha! You rabbit demon are truly a natural beauty, not inferior to the human beauty in my arms. Come, let me inspect you closely!”

The Demon King’s eyes lit up at the rabbit demon’s change. With a wave, a black wind surged, pulling her delicate frame into his embrace.

His large hand gripped her slender, snowy waist, kneading unabashedly, making her cry out in pain.

“Great King Grandpa, this toad demon once saved me. I beg you to spare him and let him live!” the rabbit demon suddenly pleaded for Mo Fan.

“Oh, is that so?”

The Demon King nodded, then laughed heartily. “Today, I’ve gained two beauties, and I’m in high spirits. Let’s spare the little toad!

Besides, this toad brought me such a beauty and that tiger demon, bringing fortune to Black Wind Mountain. Truly a little fortune demon!”

He then looked at the red-robed general below. “Poison Fang, still want to eat this toad demon?”

“Since you’re so pleased, Great King, how could I ruin your mood? Of course not,” Poison Fang said with a sly smile, not sparing Mo Fan another glance.

“Great King Grandpa, since none of the generals want this toad demon, I boldly request to take him under my command.”

At that moment, the black-robed Demon Soldier, who had been a bystander, suddenly spoke up.
