“Rabbit, do you have a name?”
“Yeah, the boss gave me the name ‘Red Eye.'”
“Red Eye? It suits you quite well.”
“Big guy, do you know why the boss gave me a name?”
“Because it’s the rule. Every demon who comes to our Black Wind Mountain must have their own name, so Lord Ding Mu can call the roll later!”
“Alright then! What’s your name?”
“My strength is great, so the previous boss named me ‘Vigorous.’ I see you’re a vegetarian demon like me. Why don’t you live in my cave from now on?”
“That way, I can protect you.”
“Why do I need protection? Isn’t this Demon Mountain? Could there be danger here?”
“It’s Demon Mountain, true, but plenty of lesser demons have violent tempers. New demons like you, who don’t know the ropes, are the easiest to get beaten up.”
“Is that so… Well then… you protect me!”
…
As he plummeted, the whistling sound of the wind roared in Red Eye’s ears. Fragments of memories from when he first arrived at the mountain surfaced in his slightly dizzy mind.
“Vigorous… you must survive!!”
Red Eye roared, eyes wide with fury. He crashed onto a lesser demon with such terrifying force that it was instantly reduced to a pulp.
“Kill him!!”
The demon horde shouted in anger, surging towards Red Eye.
“Come on, your Rabbit Lord will bet his life against yours!”
“Hahahahaha…”
Red Eye laughed maniacally, charging straight at the enraged demons…
In the air, Sparrow Chirp reverted to his true form, shrinking his body to the size of a palm, the limit of his transformation.
“You little trash from Black Nether Mountain, taste the might of your Grandpa Chirp!”
Sparrow Chirp shouted, spitting out a silver needle. Infused with demonic power, the needle turned into a streak of silver light, darting around him at such speed that even he could barely track its path.
“Kill that sparrow!”
Chirp’s taunts immediately enraged the flying demons in the air.
“I’ll do it!”
“Just a tiny sparrow. I can swallow him in one bite!”
From the demon horde, a female demon with a human head and bird body, sporting wings on her back, flew out. Her demonic aura surged, and she fully revealed her true form: a sturdy, grey raptor with a thick beak and well-developed whiskers.
Her size wasn’t large, but she was several times bigger than Chirp at that moment. With a flap of her wings, she became a grey shadow streaking through the air at incredible speed, reaching Chirp’s head in an instant.
“Little sparrow, even before I became a demon, I was your natural predator, hunting little things like you!”
“So your life is mine!”
The grey raptor spoke human words, sneering coldly. She raised her wings back, her dark, sharp claws lunging for Chirp’s head.
“A mere shrike demon dares to talk tough?”
“Die!”
Chirp’s gaze was icy. The silver light flashed by, and a speck of blood appeared on the grey raptor’s abdomen, followed by a spray of blood from her back!
In a single exchange, the so-called shrike demon fell from the sky, lifeless.
The shrike demon’s death invigorated Chirp, boosting his confidence. He turned his head towards the group of flying demons chasing Old Six, let out a bird-like screech, and shot forward as a streak of light.
“Grandkids, your Grandpa Chirp is here!”
“Hurry up and come call me Grandpa!!”
Though small in size, Sparrow Chirp’s voice was booming. His words drew the attention of the flying demons attacking Old Six, who turned to glare at him, many charging straight over.
“Is Grandpa Chirp scared of you?!”
Sparrow Chirp snorted coldly, flying towards them, wielding his silver needle artifact to slaughter the demon horde.
With many demons drawn away, the pressure on Old Six lessened significantly. He unleashed his full strength, crashing forward!
Under the protection of his armour, he ignored the demons’ attacks, hearing only a series of clanging sounds in his ears and feeling his body tremble violently. Finally, he broke through the demon horde, flying towards the Six-Colour Vermilion Fruit Treasure Tree.
“Boss, Vigorous is almost done for!!”
Old Six’s shout reached Mo Fan’s ears, igniting a surge of rage in his heart.
“Give up! You can’t save anyone, not even yourself. You’ll die here!”
“See that? Your Black Wind Mountain demons have already abandoned you, using you as a pawn to wear us down, but in the end, you’re just a discarded piece!”
“So what do you have to fight us with?!”
The Black Armoured Demon Ding laughed, swinging a giant axe at Mo Fan repeatedly.
On Mo Fan’s left and right, the Blade Demon and Snake-Head Demon flanked him.
From the moment Black Armoured Demon Ding wielded the giant axe, they knew he alone couldn’t take down this Demon Eater, so they joined forces, aiming to finish Mo Fan quickly.
This multiplied the pressure on Mo Fan.
Though the three demons appeared to have only peak Demon Ding cultivation, after consuming the Bat Spirit Fruit, their strength rivalled that of an early-stage Demon General.
Suppressing them with brute force alone was no longer possible.
“Whoever blocks my path, dies!”
Mo Fan fought with madness, spewing endless icy mist from his mouth, attempting to freeze the three demons.
But the icy mist couldn’t freeze them; it only coated their bodies with a thin layer of frost, slightly slowing their movements.
Seeing the dense black demonic aura on their bodies, Mo Fan’s brows furrowed, and he understood instantly, “Their demonic aura is too potent, rendering my frost divine ability useless…”
If that’s the case…
Divine Ability, Bewitching Golden Light!
The divine ability activated, and two dazzling golden beams shot from Mo Fan’s eyes.
In an instant, the Black Armoured Demon let out a scream, instinctively closing his eyes as blood tears streamed from the corners, clutching his head as if struck by an invisible force.
“Die!”
Mo Fan opened his mouth, and a flying sword shot out, aiming for the Black Armoured Demon’s head.
“You’re the one who’ll die!”
The Blade Demon suddenly closed in, slashing at Mo Fan with twin blades.
“Pitiful guy, how does it feel to be betrayed by your own?”
“Too bad, you were doomed to die from the start!”
A rumble came from the ground as a large hole appeared. A giant python emerged, opening its massive jaws to swallow Mo Fan.
“I’ve been waiting for you!”
Mo Fan roared, hurling a golden brick into the python’s gaping mouth. It instantly expanded to two zhang in size, tearing the python’s mouth apart.
At the same time, he threw a punch at the Blade Demon’s twin blades. His body glowed with golden light, and a mountain phantom appeared, enveloping his entire form.
This was the Mountain Armour pushed to its extreme!
“Sizzle—”
Sparks flew as the twin blades struck Mo Fan’s body but were blocked by the mountain phantom, unable to advance an inch.
“Thud!”
Mo Fan’s fist closed in, piercing straight through the Blade Demon’s chest.
Just as he was about to land another punch to finish him off, the Blade Demon flapped his wings and retreated swiftly.
Divine Ability, Tongue Arrow!
Mo Fan opened his mouth, and a crimson snake spear shot out, piercing the Blade Demon’s body again. Without giving him a chance to react, Mo Fan yanked it back and swallowed him whole!
“Come out!”
After devouring the Blade Demon, Mo Fan kicked the python’s lower jaw, the immense force sending its entire body flying out of the underground cave!
