Supernatural power?
All the demons froze at the words, then turned to look at Mr. Pig with envy.
Could this guy have awakened a innate supernatural power like Chirp?
“Master, how did you know I awakened a supernatural power?”
Mr. Pig was stunned, then looked at Mo Fan in surprise.
“Just a guess.”
Mo Fan smiled, already certain of the answer.
For demons to break through, certain conditions must be met, at least in the demon soldier and lesser demon realms. They either need sufficient spiritual qi or demon qi.
Without these, a breakthrough is typically impossible.
Mo Fan, having climbed from a lesser demon himself, understood this well, but Chirp had broken through in an unconventional way.
This was odd and puzzled Mo Fan.
Moreover, Chirp had awakened a supernatural power during his breakthrough.
So Mo Fan suspected Chirp didn’t awaken the power after breaking through, but rather broke through while awakening it!
A breakthrough requires specific external conditions, which are hard to meet in battle unless one has a power like Mo Fan’s Heaven-Devouring. Otherwise, it’s impossible.
Thus, only awakening a supernatural power could explain it. Such a power might emerge in extreme combat, triggering a breakthrough simultaneously!
This breakthrough likely didn’t rely on external conditions but instead unlocked the potential within the demon’s body!
With this suspicion, Mo Fan had asked Mr. Pig after his breakthrough.
The result confirmed his theory.
“Damn, Brother Pig, you’re awesome, awakening a supernatural power like Lord Chirp!”
“Show it off!”
Chirp bounced on Dali’s head, looking at Mr. Pig with a hint of relief, as if feeling “my path is not alone.”
“Who’s Lord Chirp?”
Mr. Pig was confused.
“Lord Chirp is me!”
“I’m Lord Chirp, named by this dumb ox!”
Chirp cackled, but his body stiffened as Dali grabbed him tightly.
“Chirp, you little punk, itching for a beating?”
Dali glared at him, teeth grinding.
“What? You gonna repay kindness with enmity?”
“Smart Rabbit, Brother Pig, and Master are all here!”
Chirp didn’t give Dali any face, cursing loudly.
“…”
Dali was speechless. He wanted to teach the guy a lesson, but recalling how Chirp had risked his life to save him, his heart softened. He sighed helplessly and placed Chirp back on his head.
“Dead bird, stop squawking, you’re giving me a headache!”
Red Eye snapped, then looked at Mr. Pig curiously. “Old Pig, what’s your supernatural power?”
Mo Fan perked up at the question, and even the noisy Chirp quieted down, equally curious.
“Uh… it’s Corpse Gluttony…”
Mr. Pig scratched his head, a bit embarrassed.
Corpse Gluttony?
The demons were stunned, puzzled.
What kind of supernatural power was that?
“Does it mean eating corpses?!”
Dali suddenly asked, horrified.
“Exactly what it sounds like.”
Mr. Pig nodded helplessly.
Hiss—
The demons gasped, and even Mo Fan’s eyes widened.
That’s too perverse!
But on second thought, it wasn’t that unusual for demons. Still, turning corpse-eating into a supernatural power piqued his curiosity about its effects.
“My Corpse Gluttony power allows me to absorb the blood essence energy from corpses, condensing it into a blood crystal in my body. In critical moments, I can use the crystal’s power to heal my injuries… uh, you can think of it as a healing method,” Mr. Pig explained, scratching his head before anyone could ask.
A healing-type supernatural power?
The demons were astonished, and Mo Fan had a moment of realization, understanding why Mr. Pig had no injuries after the battle. He must have eaten plenty of corpses with this power.
This reminded him of Deer Greedy, who also had a special recovery method, likely another supernatural power.
But sadly, Deer Greedy was already dead.
At this thought, a surge of anger rose in Mo Fan.
Now that he had broken through to the demon general realm, it was time to avenge Deer Greedy.
Just wait until the Three Mountains Trial ended!
Mo Fan took a deep breath, his gaze sweeping toward the distant battlefield where the two mountains’ demons were clashing fiercely, a cold glint in his eyes.
Earlier, Black Cloud Mountain’s demons had attacked him. That black-armored demon was from Black Cloud, nearly killing Dali and causing Old Six’s death.
As for the golden-armored demon from Black Wind Mountain, he was no better, scheming from the start, watching coldly as Mo Fan’s group fell into a desperate demon tide without lifting a finger, only later trying to trick him into fighting Black Cloud’s demons.
Mo Fan hated that golden-armored demon even more!
In his view, that demon’s scheming made him more deserving of death than Black Cloud’s demons!
“Master, should we go help?”
Rabbit demon Red Eye followed Mo Fan’s gaze, assuming his master wanted to aid Black Wind Mountain’s demons against Black Cloud.
Help?
Mo Fan’s lips curled slightly, and he said slowly, “Black Wind Mountain is strong. Look, that golden-armored demon has already broken through to the demon general realm. Why would they need our help?”
“Master means?”
The demons caught his implication but asked anyway.
“We rarely get a moment’s peace, and it’s rare to see such a grand show. Let’s sit here and enjoy it, while learning a thing or two from these demons’ prowess!”
Mo Fan grinned, then sat on a bear beast’s corpse, watching with relish.
Red Eye, Dali, and the others exchanged glances, then chuckled and sat on either side of Mo Fan, eagerly watching.
Mo Fan scanned the scene. Black Wind Mountain had fewer lesser demons, only a few dozen, while Black Cloud had over a hundred.
Not just lesser demons, but even in demon soldiers, Black Wind was outnumbered.
So, as the two sides clashed, Black Wind quickly fell into danger, nearly surrounded by Black Cloud’s demons.
The standout was the two newly promoted demon generals. Their battle was so intense that other demons didn’t dare approach, as the shockwaves alone could kill or maim.
Besides the two generals, Big Horn performed impressively, wielding a demon blade made from a rhinoceros horn, single-handedly fending off five Black Cloud demon soldiers while weaving through the lesser demons, reaping lives.
“This guy’s reached the peak of the demon soldier realm too…” Mo Fan murmured, unsurprised. Big Horn was Second General White Demon’s personal attendant, so it was normal for him to have some trump cards.
Mo Fan analyzed the battlefield while noting the techniques used by the two demon generals.
Mr. Pig yawned beside him, clearly uninterested in the fighting, looking half-asleep.
Bull demon Dali propped his chin, glancing at the slaughter with boredom, never keen on such fights.
But rabbit demon Red Eye and sparrow Chirp were different, jumping and pointing, shouting encouragements like “Go for it!” or curses like “Damn it!” in a lively, chaotic uproar.
It was so noisy that Mo Fan instinctively covered his ears, wishing he could shove a lump of dung in each of their mouths!
But somehow, the distant battlefield gradually shifted toward their position.
Mo Fan’s gaze turned icy as he looked up, noticing ripples in the surrounding space.
The barrier was shrinking!
