Heaven Devourer Chapter 182

Two-legged monsters?

The two large river shrimps, who were scolding Mo Fan, were stunned upon hearing this. One of the shrimp demons cursed in a low voice, “Where did this ugly creature come from, daring to spout nonsense here!”

This time, it was Mo Fan’s turn to be stunned.

Had he not made himself clear?

“Sir, I’m not talking nonsense. There really are two-legged monsters attacking!”

Mo Fan’s face showed distress as he continued, inwardly wishing he could turn these two shrimp demons into a delicious river feast.

To think they dared call him an ugly creature. What blind fools!

“You still say it’s not nonsense!”

“Toad demon, do you know where this place is?”

“This is General Ao Yu’s residence. Within a twenty-mile radius, which demon would dare to provoke the general?”

The other shrimp demon sneered, staring at Mo Fan coldly.

“Two idiots!”

Mo Fan cursed inwardly but said urgently, “Sir, I overheard those fellows claiming to be disciples of some Great River Sect. They don’t have the slightest demonic aura and seem to be heading this way. They look formidable, all of them ferocious!”

“They even said that after killing that so-called General Ao Yu, they’d slaughter all the shrimp demons under him to make a pot of delicious river stew!”

“What?!”

“Such audacity!!”

At Mo Fan’s words, the two shrimp demons were furious. They transformed into two demon soldiers wearing pointed hats, glaring fiercely at Mo Fan.

“Both sirs, I didn’t say those words. They came from those two-legged monsters…” Mo Fan put on an innocent expression.

“Ugly creature, are you telling the truth?”

“If you dare deceive us, we’ll skin you and make you into a dish!”

The two shrimp demons stood up, staring intently at Mo Fan.

“Both sirs, I’m just a lowly demon. How would I dare deceive you?!” Mo Fan maintained his innocent look.

“Hmph! You wouldn’t have the guts!”

The shrimp demons snorted coldly, exchanged a glance, and one said, “If what this ugly thing says is true, those fellows must be human cultivators!”

“That’s what I thought. Didn’t human cultivators cause a ruckus in our Blackwater River last night?”

“This is no small matter. We must report to the general immediately for his decision!”

“Agreed!”

Having made up their minds, the two shrimp demons headed into the cave mansion.

Soon after, a demon general clad in jade armour emerged with the two shrimp demons, only to find the so-called toad demon had vanished.

“Damn it!”

“That toad demon must have tricked us!”

The two shrimp demons were furious, kneeling before the general. “Please forgive us, General!”

“No, that toad demon didn’t deceive you. I can already sense the foul stench of human cultivators!”

General Ao Yu spoke calmly, hands behind his back, exuding the air of a supreme expert. “Just mere human cultivators. I’ll go slaughter them and make a feast for everyone to enjoy!”

The two shrimp demons’ eyes lit up. It had been a while since they tasted human flesh.

But at that moment, General Ao Yu’s expression changed.

He saw human cultivators ahead, but… there were too many!

Over a dozen, each radiating an aura no weaker than his own.

More than ten Foundation Establishment human cultivators!!

“Damn it, how can we fight this?!”

General Ao Yu cursed inwardly and fled!

“General!!”

The two shrimp demons were stunned, shocked that their general had fled at such a critical moment.

As they came to their senses, two beams of light shot towards them, killing them instantly.

Meanwhile, Mo Fan had escaped dozens of miles away, using the same trick to deceive two more demon generals and slipping away.

“A bunch of brainless scholars think they can outsmart me?”

“In your next life!”

Feeling the battle fluctuations from the waters behind, Mo Fan grinned, leisurely navigating the Blackwater River without rushing to surface.

During this time, he noticed his pursuers were mostly Great River Sect disciples, so he deduced the sword cultivators were likely waiting above the river.

But when he glanced at He Feifei, whose face was growing paler in his arms, he sighed.

Though he used demonic energy to sustain her, preventing her from drowning, the prolonged lack of air was taking its toll.

He knew if he didn’t get her to the surface soon, He Feifei might suffocate in the Blackwater River.

With no other choice, Mo Fan flew as far as he could. When blood began seeping from He Feifei’s nose and mouth, he rushed upward with her in his arms!

“Boom!”

As the river surface exploded, a black mist shot out, flying towards the Hundred Thousand Mountains.

“There he is!”

“It’s that toad demon!”

“Chase!!”

The Bixiao Sect disciples patrolling the river took off on their swords in pursuit.

“What a persistent bunch of bastards!”

Hearing the thunderous shouts behind him, Mo Fan frowned, activating his poison pearl. He spat out endless toxic mist, spreading it around to conceal his tracks.

“Trying to hide from us with demonic energy?”

“Think such a petty trick can stop us?!”

A cultivator sneered, waving his hand. A spirit bird spread its wings and flew into the black mist.

But the bird soon let out a screech and plummeted into the river.

“What’s going on?!”

The cultivator’s expression changed. Frowning, he decided to investigate himself.

“Be careful, junior brother. We’ll go with you!”

Several cultivators joined him, flying into the mist, believing the toad demon was hiding there, striking lethally.

But once inside, they realised what had happened to the spirit bird.

There was no toad demon!

The black mist wasn’t demonic energy but a cloud of deadly poison!

“Ah…!!”

“It’s poison!!”

The cultivators screamed. Even as Foundation Establishment cultivators, they lasted only a few breaths before falling into the river, their bodies rapidly decaying, polluting the water. Fish began floating to the surface, bellies up.

“Such potent poison!!”

The cultivators behind shivered, too afraid to pursue further.

Half an hour later, Mo Fan had shaken off his pursuers and finally reached the riverbank.

As he landed, a rich aroma hit him, making his mouth water.

“What’s this smell? How is it so fragrant?!”

Mo Fan swallowed hard, following the scent. Soon, behind a large rock by the riverbank, he saw a hunched old man cooking something in a pot.

“What the hell? Why is there a mortal here?!”

Mo Fan was startled, sensing no demonic or spiritual energy from the old man.

This meant the old man was human, and a mortal at that!

“Young friend, meeting is fate. My pot of fish soup is almost ready. Why not stay and have a warm bowl to refresh yourself?”
