When Mo Fan was still a lesser demon, he thought the peach forest was far away.
Now, as a Demon General capable of riding clouds, he realized the peach forest was only three to four hundred miles from Black Wind Mountain, not far at all.
Hovering above the peach forest, Mo Fan didn’t descend immediately but observed the situation below.
On the surface, it was hard to spot any demons, only numerous monkeys.
But when Mo Fan channeled his demonic energy to sense the area, he discovered most of those monkeys were actually low-level lesser demons!
They hadn’t manifested their spirit forms, making them hard to distinguish at first.
With demonic energy focused in his eyes, the peach forest transformed in Mo Fan’s vision, shrouded in thick black mist, its demonic aura even denser than that of Black Wind Mountain!
“What a peach forest, hiding so many demon cultivators!”
Even Mo Fan, upon uncovering the truth, couldn’t help but take a deep breath, somewhat shocked.
As a lesser demon, he couldn’t see through this place’s reality, always thinking the forest was occupied by wild monkeys, even trespassing here once with Er Ha.
Now, seeing the truth, a chill ran down his spine, and he felt a bit fortunate.
He was lucky not to have been caught and served as a feast by these demon monkeys back then!
Soon, Mo Fan arrived above the thousand-year-old peach tree, noticing it lacked demonic aura, appearing more like an ordinary ancient tree.
But he knew well that the tree’s interior was the demon monkeys’ lair!
After observing for a while and seeing no powerful demons entering or exiting, Mo Fan descended to an open area, transforming into a millstone-sized toad.
“Croak, croak…!”
Mo Fan let out two frog calls, then hopped toward the thousand-year-old peach tree, finding a large hole behind it, just wide enough for one to pass through.
As he was about to leap in, surprised voices rang out behind him.
“What a huge toad! So ugly!!”
“Strange, we’ve never seen toads in our peach forest. How did such a big one pop up?”
“Who cares? Let’s catch it and play with it!”
“Huh… the toad’s gone!”
Before the tree hole, the demon monkeys exchanged puzzled looks, unable to fathom how the millstone-sized toad vanished without a trace.
Though demon monkeys, they were simple-minded lesser demons with little experience. If they couldn’t figure something out, they didn’t bother thinking about it.
After a brief pause, the monkeys giggled and entered the tree hole, paying no mind to the strange toad.
Mo Fan, meanwhile, was grumbling.
“Ugly? Your whole family’s ugly!!”
He had vanished by using his Earth Escape divine ability.
His plan was to sneak into the tree hole in his true form, but he didn’t expect to be spotted by the demon monkeys before even entering, and worse, they wanted to leash and parade him…
What nonsense!
He’d heard of walking dogs, but walking a toad? That was a first. No wonder they said demons were wild, this wasn’t just wild, it was downright brainless!
So, he escaped directly.
Soon, Mo Fan appeared inside the thousand-year-old peach tree, hidden in the soil, barely exposing his eyes to survey the surroundings.
He noticed the golden wine pool ahead.
A refreshing scent hit him, making Mo Fan feel utterly relaxed. He channeled demonic energy to his eyes, seeing strands of spiritual energy rising from the wine pool, filling the entire tree hole.
Around the pool, demon monkeys were pouring wine and nectar from gourds.
The tree hole wasn’t large, but it housed over twenty demon soldiers, plus a few lesser demons wielding knives, forks, spears, and sticks, standing guard.
After assessing the situation, Mo Fan sent a wisp of demonic energy toward the golden wine pool.
He had once detected several Demon General figures within it.
Back then, he hadn’t examined closely, but now he intended to investigate thoroughly.
As his demonic energy probed, Mo Fan’s pupils contracted!
At the bottom of the wine pool, eight monkey clan Demon Generals were meditating cross-legged!
Each one’s aura was no weaker than his own!
Moreover, Mo Fan sensed an even more terrifying presence lurking deeper below, giving him an ominous feeling.
“Hmph!”
Suddenly, a cold snort echoed from the depths of the wine pool, striking Mo Fan’s mind like a heavy hammer.
“Clang—!!”
At the critical moment, the golden coin in Mo Fan’s mind blazed with light, seemingly blocking the invasive force, emitting a loud boom.
“Ugh…”
Mo Fan trembled, groaning, his face paling. Without hesitation, he used the Earth Escape technique again, fleeing the tree hole.
“King, what disturbed you?”
A rough voice sounded in the tree hole, tinged with awe.
“A demon invaded this place. My divine technique isn’t complete, so I cannot emerge. Send a Demon General to pursue it!”
A chilling voice echoed through the tree hole.
“Yes!”
Soon, a Demon General flew out from the wine pool, sensed briefly, and headed outside.
Emerging from the tree hole, Mo Fan reverted to his spirit form and rode clouds back toward Black Wind Mountain.
He was genuinely shaken.
He had thought the thousand-year-old peach tree housed only a few monkey clan Demon Generals, but he hadn’t expected a far stronger presence, likely a Demon King!
The aura carried a potent sense of danger, and the number of Demon Generals in the wine pool alarmed him.
Last time he and Red Eyes sneaked in to steal wine, he had noticed Demon Generals in the pool, but not this many.
Yet now, he had found eight!
This was unnerving, shaking Mo Fan’s confidence, prompting his immediate retreat.
From that mental attack, he realized the Demon King was far stronger than ordinary ones.
“Stop right there!”
As Mo Fan flew out of the peach forest, a cold shout came from behind.
Turning, he saw a black-furred monkey, ten feet tall, riding clouds toward him, faster than himself!
“If I want to leave, I leave. What can you do?”
Mo Fan smirked, diving toward the ground, weaving swiftly through the forest.
“You dared spy on my clan’s secrets. You won’t be spared!”
The black-furred demon monkey roared, sensing the fleeing demon’s cultivation was weaker than his own, determined to capture it for the king.
One fleeing, one chasing, they covered over a hundred miles.
“Why’d you stop?”
Suddenly, Mo Fan halted, making the black-furred demon monkey sneer, though he cautiously didn’t rush forward, scanning the surroundings.
“No need. A hundred miles out, even a Demon King can’t reach here quickly.”
“Dealing with you is enough!”
Mo Fan grinned, turning to the black-furred demon monkey, “Sorry, you’re already surrounded by me!”
