In a short span, Mo Fan was sent flying dozens of times by the young girl, unable to find a chance to retaliate, which stoked a fire of frustration within him.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t fight back, but that he couldn’t track her movements.
In terms of speed, the girl seemed to surpass him.
This was the first time since refining his black feathers that Mo Fan had encountered such a formidable opponent of the same realm.
Through her relentless attacks, Mo Fan had discerned her cultivation level. She hadn’t broken through to the Demon King realm, remaining at the peak of the Demon General stage.
Yet, the strength and speed she unleashed were no less than those of any Demon King.
“Bang!”
Mo Fan was blasted back once more, but this time a hint of joy appeared on his face.
After enduring so many blows, he hadn’t come away empty-handed. He had been tracking her movements and finally made a discovery.
“You’re clearly a toad demon, so why insist on having those wings?”
“Give them to me, and my speed will be even greater. Even a Demon King wouldn’t catch me!”
The girl’s angry voice rang in Mo Fan’s ears as her massive scythe swung towards him.
“I’ve found you!”
Mo Fan grinned fiercely, his black feathers sweeping to block the scythe’s strike. He spun and threw a punch behind him.
Boom!
The girl hastily countered with a punch but was sent stumbling back.
“Kill!”
Mo Fan surged forward, his black feathers transforming into feather blades, slashing at the girl repeatedly.
“You toad, be careful not to damage my precious wings!”
The girl roared in fury, her scythe whirling rapidly. She engaged Mo Fan in close combat, and for a time, they were evenly matched, with Mo Fan unable to overpower her.
“Hey!”
“Look at this!”
In the midst of the fierce battle, Mo Fan suddenly opened his mouth, and a sword pill shot out.
“Hm?”
The girl glanced over instinctively, only to see the sword pill explode mid-air, turning into a cloud of black mist that enveloped her.
“Ah!”
She screamed, too late to expel the poisonous mist with her demonic power. The poison had already invaded her organs through her breath.
“Damn toad, you cheated! You poisoned me!”
The girl was livid, her strength greatly diminished after being poisoned. Mo Fan pressed his advantage, throwing her into disarray.
“I’m done playing! I’m not taking this job!”
Seeing herself increasingly outmatched, the girl panicked and vanished on the spot.
“Trying to escape?”
Mo Fan sneered, activating the Great Five Elements Crystal Technique. The ground beneath turned crimson crystal, spreading over a hundred zhang in an instant.
To his surprise, the girl was still gone.
He had caught her trail emerging from the ground, suspecting she possessed a divine ability akin to earth-escaping techniques. Thus, he froze the ground with the Great Five Elements Crystal Technique to trap her.
Yet, it had failed, causing Mo Fan to frown.
He carefully sensed the ground, detecting no trace of demonic energy, but soon his eyes narrowed.
“What a cunning demoness, coming and going without a trace!”
“I’ve underestimated the demons of these Hundred Thousand Great Mountains!”
Mo Fan murmured, his wings flapping as he shot into the sky.
As he ascended, he activated his Fire Spirit Body, his form wreathed in roaring flames.
As he moved further from the ground, a figure suddenly fell from beneath his feet, the very girl who had vanished.
The moment she appeared, she sensed trouble and hurriedly fled towards the ground.
“After all that effort to flush you out, how could I let you escape?”
Mo Fan sneered, the golden tiger rune appearing at his brow.
Divine Ability, Tiger’s Accomplice!
Instantly, two grey figures shot out, lunging at the girl.
“What are these things?”
The girl’s eyes widened, a flicker of confusion in her pupils. She swung her scythe at the two accomplice ghosts, only to find it passed right through them, doing no harm.
“What kind of monsters are these?”
Her attacks ineffective, the girl panicked, encountering such a bizarre phenomenon for the first time.
“Ah, what a lovely little lass! Let Grandpa Turtle pamper you!”
The turtle demon accomplice ghost suddenly spoke, its hollow voice carrying a chilling gust, making the air feel colder and causing the girl’s hair to stand on end.
“Such a cute little lass, I bet she’d be crunchy to eat!
I can already smell the delicious demon soul!”
The double-headed wolf demon accomplice ghost sneered coldly.
“You disgusting, ugly things! Are you demons or ghosts? Die!”
Initially terrified, the girl’s fear turned to rage. Ignoring her fear, she swung her scythe frantically, hacking at the two accomplice ghosts.
Her strikes, however, had no effect on the ghosts, immune to all physical attacks.
Amidst their laughter, the wolf demon and turtle demon accomplice ghosts merged into the girl’s body.
“Ah!”
She screamed, plummeting from the sky.
“Enough, you two, stop playing. Don’t let her hit the ground!”
Mo Fan frowned slightly, speaking in a low voice.
Through the earlier battles, he had figured out the girl’s fighting style.
Her difficulty lay not in her strength or speed, but in her elusive divine ability.
This ability required shadows or darkness as a medium.
Thus, she could always act faster, appearing beside Mo Fan in bizarre ways to attack.
Without his king-grade demon weapon wings, Mo Fan might have already fallen to her.
Having understood her divine ability, Mo Fan flew into the sky and activated his Fire Spirit Body, covering himself in blazing flames.
The higher he flew from the ground, the smaller his shadow became. By turning himself into a torch, his shadow was compressed to near nothingness.
When the shadow could no longer contain her, she was forced to emerge, which was Mo Fan’s plan.
Her ambition played a part as well.
From start to finish, she never intended to truly escape, instead hiding in Mo Fan’s shadow to strike again, only to be outsmarted and forced out.
Having grasped her divine ability, Mo Fan wouldn’t let her escape into the ground again.
The two accomplice ghosts were perfect for dealing with her, as they had no shadows.
Their abilities exceeded Mo Fan’s expectations, directly possessing her body.
As Mo Fan’s words fell, the girl stopped screaming, stabilising her fall. A lecherous grin spread across her face, and in Mo Fan’s speechless gaze, she began groping herself, chuckling, “What a fine body! This skin, this texture… tsk tsk tsk… so smooth! Just a bit lacking in the chest…”
She reached into her collar.
“Damn turtle, get your filthy hands off! I’m losing my patience!”
Her voice shifted, as if she’d become another person, the lecherous grin turning to anger.
“No!”
“What are you ghostly things?”
“Please, let me go… sob sob sob…”
In an instant, her voice returned to normal, her face filled with terror.
“Jie jie jie jie… little lass, stop struggling! Letting you go? Impossible! The more you struggle, the more Grandpa Turtle enjoys it!”
“You perverse turtle, can you not be so disgusting? You’re ruining my reputation!”
Mo Fan was at a loss for words, stunned by the spectacle, feeling his two accomplice ghosts were somewhat perverse. He activated the tiger rune at his brow, and the girl screamed again.
“Master, spare us!”
“Master, spare us!”
