The tiger pattern’s divine might manifested, causing the two ghost attendants to immediately cry out in terror and beg for mercy.
“If you dare disobey this king’s orders again, I will make your souls scatter and perish!” Mo Fan snorted coldly. Seeing the two ghost attendants submit, he immediately ceased activating the tiger pattern, and the girl stopped screaming.
“Master, we know we were wrong!” The girl stared at Mo Fan in fear, as if she had seen something terrifying.
Mo Fan was about to say something when the girl suddenly changed her tone, trembling, “Toad demon, please spare me, I won’t try to kill you again!”
Mo Fan was speechless, amused by her words. “Are you genuinely foolish, or are you pretending to be silly? Your life hangs by a thread in my hands, yet you dare threaten to kill me?”
“I was wrong, truly wrong!” The girl pleaded, “Please make these two disgusting demon things leave my body! I beg you, if you can make them leave, I’ll do anything you say!”
The girl begged, her face full of bitterness, her eyes filled with intense fear, clearly terrified by the two ghost attendants.
“You said it. If you can’t keep your word, this king has plenty of ways to deal with you!” Mo Fan sneered. He had initially planned to kill the girl, but after the recent battle, he felt it would be a pity to kill her so easily.
This girl was clearly different from other demon generals. Though slightly erratic, her strength was undeniable! Her elusive supernatural ability made her a natural assassin. Moreover, she had stated she wasn’t part of the Lei Yu family, only acting on their behalf.
These reasons sparked Mo Fan’s interest in taming her.
“Toad demon, rest assured, I, Black Clothes, keep my word. Even if White Clothes comes, it won’t change my resolve!” the girl hurriedly said.
“Good. From today, you will follow me!” Mo Fan nodded, commanding the two ghost attendants to float out of the girl’s body.
“Thank you, toad demon!” Seeing the two ghosts completely leave her body, Black Clothes sighed in relief, genuinely terrified of them.
In her eyes, these two indestructible ghosts were far more frightening than Mo Fan.
“Hey, you little girl, don’t you know manners? Since you’ve joined our master, you must call him Great King, not keep calling him toad demon!” the turtle demon ghost scolded.
“Perverted creep, mind your own business!” The girl named Black Clothes pouted, gripping her scythe tightly and glaring at the turtle demon ghost.
“Hey, don’t you know why a monkey’s backside is so red? Want Grandpa Turtle to tell you the answer?” The turtle demon ghost grinned lewdly, about to lunge at Black Clothes, but stopped when he saw Mo Fan’s cold gaze, smiling awkwardly.
“Black Clothes, is it? This turtle demon may be a scoundrel, but he’s right. Since you’ve chosen to follow me, you will call me Great King from now on!” Mo Fan said sternly.
“Hmph, fine. Just keep this disgusting demon ghost away from me. I can’t stand him!” Black Clothes huffed.
Mo Fan shook his head slightly, realizing this girl wasn’t pretending, she was genuinely reckless, acting like a child playing house, not fully grasping the situation. But he couldn’t be bothered to dwell on it. He stepped forward, reaching to touch her forehead.
“What are you doing?” Black Clothes stepped back warily, instinctively gripping her scythe.
“Removing your poison. If I don’t, you might die from it.” Mo Fan shrugged, pointing at her hands.
Black Clothes glanced at her hands, once fair as jade, now completely black. Her eyes widened in shock. Not only her hands but her entire body had turned black, the poison having silently spread throughout her.
Mo Fan admired her ability to withstand the poison of life and death for so long. He knew how potent it was, formed from the fusion of countless toxins, able to solidify into a sword or turn into a poisonous mist. Even a demon king would suffer if caught off guard.
“Ah, poison! I remember now, you poisoned me!” Black Clothes cried, collapsing to the ground, sobbing. “I’m done for! I’m only a hundred years old, I don’t want to die!”
This bizarre scene made Mo Fan’s face twitch, and the two ghost attendants behind him were dumbfounded.
“I said I can detoxify you,” Mo Fan sighed, realizing Black Clothes was like a spoiled child, overly carefree.
“Oh, right, quick, detoxify me!” Black Clothes nodded eagerly, looking at Mo Fan with tearful eyes.
“Beg me,” Mo Fan said, unimpressed.
“I beg you!” she replied.
Mo Fan paused, then said, “Not sincere enough.”
Black Clothes frowned, trembling as she thought for a moment, then said bitterly, “Great King, please save me! I’m quite a beauty, you wouldn’t want to see someone like me perish, would you?”
Mo Fan was speechless. What nonsense was this? But seeing her worsening condition, he stepped forward, touching her forehead. Endless toxins flowed from her body into his, forming a bead, the Life and Death Sword Pill.
“It’s done,” Mo Fan said, stepping back, noting her fair skin return. She hadn’t lied, she was indeed a budding beauty.
“So fast?” Black Clothes was stunned, then checked her body, exclaiming joyfully, “Thank you, Great King, for saving me! I’m eternally grateful!”
“No need for gratitude. Just serve me well,” Mo Fan waved off, then asked, “What’s your true form?”
“A praying mantis. I’m a mantis demon!” Black Clothes replied.
Mo Fan nodded, unsurprised, as her scythe resembled a mantis’s blade-like legs.
“You said you’re not from the Lei Yu family. Why did you help them try to kill me?” Mo Fan asked.
“Great King, don’t misunderstand, I never intended to harm you!” Black Clothes corrected seriously, frowning. “I only asked you to come with me to Wind Thunder Mountain.”
“That’s true. If you had intended to kill me from the start, you’d be a corpse by now,” Mo Fan nodded, believing her. Though she later acted crazily, she never struck to kill, aiming only at his black feathers.
“So why help the Lei Yu family?”
“Because White Clothes told me to. He said the Lei Yu family’s second king promised us cultivation resources and lots of food to bring you to Wind Thunder Mountain, that’s all,” Black Clothes shrugged, looking bitter. “If I knew how powerful you were, I wouldn’t have come. Now I’ve gotten myself into this mess.”
“Who’s White Clothes?” Mo Fan asked, catching the key point.
“White Clothes is White Clothes!” she said. “He’s a mantis born with me. Long ago, we ate a fruit and became demons. He’s a white mantis, so he’s called White Clothes, and I’m a black mantis, so I’m Black Clothes. But I like white, and he likes black.”
“So, the Lei Yu family sent not just you, but also White Clothes?” Mo Fan narrowed his eyes.
“Yes, if you had escaped, you’d have met White Clothes next!” Black Clothes said loyally, “But don’t worry, Great King, I won’t let him harm you!”
“Are you worried I’ll kill him?” Mo Fan saw through her thoughts. Seeing her silent, head lowered, he smiled, “Don’t worry. If he doesn’t intend to kill me, I won’t kill him.”
“Thank you, Great King!” Black Clothes said, then added, “Um, Great King, can you give me food in the future? I don’t want to go hungry.”
“Plenty!” Mo Fan assured.
