Heaven Devourer Chapter 412

Seeing the path blocked, Mo Fan’s brow furrowed slightly. Langlang, standing beside him, stepped forward and slapped the demon general in front of them across the face.

“Smack!”

A crisp sound rang out, and the demon general staggered from the blow.

The surrounding demon generals, seeing this, approached with hostile gazes, their demonic auras erupting.

But Langlang was unfazed and shouted, “Are you blind? You don’t even recognise Black Wind Demon King? Want to be served up as a feast?”

Demon King?

The previously aggressive demon generals instantly faltered, their gathered demonic auras dissipating, their expressions turning uneasy.

The slapped demon general, though furious, was cowed by the name Black Wind Demon King.

Mo Fan understood Langlang’s intent and immediately released a trace of his aura, causing the demons to pale in shock.

Though his aura hadn’t reached Demon King strength, the peak Demon General level was enough to unnerve them. They instinctively assumed Mo Fan was a Demon King, merely showing a fraction of his power at the peak Demon General level.

“This lowly demon didn’t know Demon King Grandfather had arrived and unintentionally offended you. Please, Demon King Grandfather, forgive me,” the slapped demon general dropped to his knees, pressing his head to the ground, trembling as he begged for mercy.

Though he’d never heard of Black Wind Demon King, in that moment, survival was his only concern.

Mo Fan, seeing this, understood that Moonlit Valley must have a strict hierarchy.

“Let it not happen again,” Mo Fan said curtly, brushing past the demon general to stand before the array’s light barrier. In a deep voice, he commanded, “This king is here on Ancestor Sha’s orders to take some blood slaves. Open the array at once.”

“This…” The demon generals exchanged glances. A rat-headed demon general smiled ingratiatingly, “Black Wind Grandfather, it’s not that we won’t open the array, but Ancestor Sha has ordered that no one may enter or leave without a Demon King’s token…”

“Boom!”

Before the rat-headed demon could finish, Mo Fan kicked him flying, scolding, “You seek death. This king comes on Ancestor Sha’s orders. Do I need to explain myself to a mere demon general?”

Turning to the others, Mo Fan snorted, “Even the five Demon Kings in the palace would treat this king with respect. If you don’t open the array and obstruct me, I’ll swallow you all whole.”

His words left the demon generals pale and trembling. Reluctantly, they looked to the rat-headed demon.

“Spare me, Demon King Grandfather. This lowly demon will open the array now,” the rat-headed demon struggled to his feet, spitting out a round array disc.

As he channelled his demonic power into the disc, the array over the eastern district deactivated, and the light barrier covering the area vanished.

When the barrier disappeared, figures appeared on the previously empty streets, all looking at Mo Fan’s group with fear.

The first thing Mo Fan noticed was a group of dishevelled women clinging to each other, a pool of fresh blood beneath them.

Mo Fan’s brow furrowed as he looked closer. The women were young and moderately attractive but bore numerous bruises and wounds.

Clearly, they had endured inhumane torment.

Mo Fan felt no anger, as such scenes were all too common in war, especially between races.

He instructed White Robe and Langlang to guard the array’s perimeter and entered with Black Robe.

“What happened to you?” Black Robe asked, approaching the women.

But as she drew near, the human women grew more terrified, trembling and inching backward.

Only one woman remained still, sitting in the bloodstains, her eyes vacant.

“Do you need my help?” Black Robe asked again.

Though from different races, seeing these human women suffer stirred pity in her, as a woman herself.

“Please, for the sake of us both being women, kill me, will you?” The woman snapped out of her daze, looking up at Black Robe with hollow eyes.

Black Robe fell silent for a moment, then nodded, whispering, “Alright.”

With that, she pointed a finger, and a burst of energy pierced the woman’s forehead.

The woman died as she wished, collapsing into the cold pool of blood, a faint smile finally gracing her lips.

Mo Fan could only sigh helplessly.

To him, death might be the only way for her to escape the demons’ clutches, her own form of salvation.

The woman’s death caused nearby women to scream, some scrambling to their feet and running wildly into the distance.

Many others on the street scattered to avoid the scene.

“Let’s go,” Mo Fan said, leading Black Robe onward.

“Ah…!” A sudden scream pierced Mo Fan’s ears.

A woman’s cry?

Mo Fan frowned, initially intending to ignore it, but then a lecherous laugh rang out, “Damn you, you filthy wench. You stole from me and think you can leave without paying a price? I know you. You’re that female scholar the demon lords put a bounty on. They say you hid a bunch of kids, so plenty of people protected you. Too bad I’m a lone wolf with no such kindness. You’re in my hands now, and that’s your bad luck.”

“Rip!”

The sound of tearing cloth made Mo Fan sigh.

Having once been human, he understood humanity’s darker nature, now on full display.

Even in a place akin to a living hell, villains still wreaked havoc.

No, the more dangerous and desperate the situation, the more humanity’s evil side erupted.

Mo Fan initially planned to ignore it, but the mention of a female scholar piqued his interest. He was about to have Black Robe act when another voice from the distance reached his ears, chilling his gaze.

“Big brother, please let me go. I was just looking for food for the children. Several of them are starving to death. Please…” a woman sobbed.

“We’re all going to die sooner or later. What do I care about those kids? If they die, good. Saves food. But you, you’re still useful. It’s been days since I’ve had any fun,” the man sneered.

“Smack!”

“You dare bite me, you filthy wench?”

At a street corner, in a dimly lit room, a burly fat man slapped a woman to the ground.

Before she could rise, he grabbed her throat, lifting her off the floor.

By the window’s light, the fat man saw her beautiful face and his eyes lit up.

“Hahaha! What luck for Huang the Butcher today. You look filthy, but you’re a beauty. Perfect. I’ll have my fun, then offer you to the demon lords outside. Might even save my life,” the fat man laughed, dragging her to a cluttered cabinet.

He swept the bottles and jars off the cabinet, letting them shatter on the floor, then threw the half-conscious woman onto it, eagerly starting to undress, his face alight with excitement.

“Boom!”

At that moment, the room’s wall burst open.

A figure appeared behind Huang the Butcher, an icy voice ringing in his ear.

“You. Deserve. To. Die.”
