Heaven Devourer Chapter 47

Deep within the Demon Spirit Mountain Range, about two hundred miles north.

There lies a vast peach forest, lush and verdant.

At the heart of the peach forest stands a massive tree, clearly distinct from the other peach trees.

This is an ancient peach tree, which, in Red Eye’s words, is a thousand-year-old peach tree, its trunk so thick that it would take over a dozen people to encircle it.

At this moment, Mo Fan and Red Eye were hiding in a patch of weeds a short distance from the ancient peach tree, cautiously observing the towering giant in the distance.

Mo Fan was no stranger to this peach forest. As he had suspected, it was the same one not far from Erha Tiger’s lair.

However, he had never ventured in this direction nor come so close to this ancient peach tree.

Now, he noticed something peculiar about the tree. At the centre of its trunk was a hollow, with monkeys occasionally entering and exiting.

“It seems Red Eye wasn’t lying. This place is indeed unusual!”

Mo Fan’s eyes glinted, his heart burning with excitement. According to Red Eye, the tree hollow contained a large stash of low-grade spirit wine, as well as yellow-tier spirit wine!

Mo Fan could ignore the low-grade spirit wine, but the yellow-tier spirit wine was worth taking a risk for.

After this trip down the mountain, though he had gained considerably, he became even more aware of his shortcomings.

With his current cultivation and divine abilities, he could easily dismiss any minor demon, but when it came to that scorpion demon, Mo Fan still felt uncertain.

He knew his own limits and didn’t let killing the black fox at the Demon Ding level inflate his ego.

Killing the black fox wasn’t due to his cultivation but rather meticulous planning, his unique divine abilities, and the fox’s overconfidence, all of which led to its demise.

Yet, the scorpion demon exerted even greater pressure on Mo Fan. Despite his remarkable progress, he still didn’t dare confront it head-on.

If that was the case, he had to become stronger!

Only greater cultivation and strength could give him more confidence!

This unauthorized trip down the mountain would undoubtedly reach the scorpion demon’s ears. Mo Fan could imagine that upon returning to Black Wind Mountain, the demon might start causing trouble.

Thus, Mo Fan was unwilling to let this chance to grow stronger slip away.

Without a doubt, the yellow-tier monkey wine was a perfect opportunity!

“Brother Red Eye, are you sure there are only a few low-grade little monkey demons in that tree hollow?”

Mo Fan stared at the hollow for a while before asking gravely.

“Don’t worry, Brother’s already scouted everything. There are only a few low-grade monkey demons!”

Red Eye grinned, then added indignantly, “If those damned monkeys hadn’t ganged up on me, would I need to team up with a guy like you?

Couldn’t I just steal the wine myself, hide away to cultivate, and shock everyone in secret? Wouldn’t that be satisfying?”

“Makes sense!”

Mo Fan nodded in agreement, then eagerly said, “What are we waiting for? Start digging!”

“You’ll distract those monkey demons, and I’ll steal the spirit wine. We’ll meet up at Black Wind Mountain’s Hundred Mile Slope, split the loot, fifty-fifty!”

Red Eye was equally excited, nodding immediately, “I’ll start digging now!”

As he spoke, demonic energy surged from Red Eye’s body. In the blink of an eye, Mo Fan saw Red Eye vanish, leaving a large hole in the ground.

“Bloody hell, that’s too fast!”

Though Mo Fan knew Red Eye’s digging was impressive, he was still shocked.

Without hesitation, he jumped into the hole, chasing after Red Eye into its depths.

Moments later, Mo Fan saw Red Eye gnawing on a red root, and he said irritably, “Big Brother, we’re working here, what are you doing?”

“Heh heh, this is called Blood Ginseng, a low-grade spirit herb. Didn’t expect to dig one up down here. What luck!”

Red Eye said gleefully, swallowing the Blood Ginseng in a few bites before grinning, “Truly good stuff. The taste is as delicious as human flesh. No wonder it grows in places steeped in blood and corpses!

Pity there’s so little of it. A few bites and it’s gone. The spiritual energy’s limited too, not enough to help me transform again.”

Mo Fan rolled his eyes, thinking, “This stingy rabbit has big ambitions!”

“Brother Red Eye, you said this Blood Ginseng grows in places of blood and corpses?”

Mo Fan asked curiously.

“Exactly. Old Demon Ding told me before. Knowing my digging skills are top-notch, he told me to keep an eye out for mass graves, saying there’s a chance Blood Ginseng might grow there.

Didn’t expect to actually find one today!” Red Eye said excitedly.

“Wait, Brother Red Eye, if that’s true, doesn’t that mean this peach forest is full of buried corpses?”

Mo Fan frowned, as he hadn’t seen a single body so far.

“Well… I can’t say for sure, but why are you curious about everything? Are we stealing wine or not?!” Red Eye snapped, annoyed by Mo Fan’s questions.

“Heh heh, habit, couldn’t help myself,” Mo Fan said with an awkward smile, then asked, “Are we right under the ancient peach tree’s interior?

Brother, are you sure about this?”

“Should be right. Let’s go!”

Red Eye was about to dig upward when Mo Fan grabbed him, pleading, “Brother Red Eye, we can’t be uncertain about this! Our lives are on the line.”

“Coward!

Look at your lack of guts!”

Red Eye sneered, snorting, “Even if you don’t trust me, you should at least trust my lifelong digging skills, right?”

With that, Red Eye began digging upward.

As dirt and stones fell, Red Eye quickly broke through, and a beam of light shot into the tunnel.

“Dead rabbit, it’s you again!”

“That damned rabbit demon’s back!!”

“This time, we can’t let him escape!!”

“…”

Just as Mo Fan was about to follow Red Eye out, a barrage of curses came from above, scaring him into ducking back, not daring to emerge.

“Pfft… Come catch your grandpa, you brats!!”

Red Eye’s taunting voice rang out, followed by chaos above…

“Let’s see if this blasted rabbit demon’s tunnel has any accomplices!”

A voice sounded above Mo Fan, making his entire body tense.

Then, a furry head poked into the tunnel, its face ugly, with a pointed mouth and shrunken cheeks, like a thunder god’s visage.

“Huh…”

The monkey demon spotted Mo Fan hiding below.

“Huh, your mum!”

Mo Fan cut off its words, opening his mouth and sucking fiercely!

Come down, you!

Divine Ability: Heaven Swallowing!!

In an instant, the monkey demon was swallowed whole!

Mo Fan had no time to feel the energy surging back into his body. He leapt upward, bursting out of the tunnel!

As he emerged, he saw a pool of glistening liquid shimmering under the light, as if coated with golden sand!

Surrounding the liquid were piles of plump fruits and even more Blood Ginseng, with five palm-sized orange gourds placed in the centre of the liquid.

“This… is the spirit wine?!”
