Next, Mo Fan and his three companions found an empty spot, sat cross-legged, and quietly awaited the right moment.
During this time, Mo Fan began carefully observing the cultivators at the summit.
Though he had gleaned some information from Qu You’s memories, it was not detailed. Now he had ample time to study them properly.
While Mo Fan examined these cultivators, his group of four demons also became the focus of everyone’s attention.
Mo Fan felt helpless about this, but he understood his earlier actions had been too high-profile. Still, he did not care.
Let them look. Would he lose a piece of flesh?
But if anyone thought he was an easy target, they would be sorely mistaken.
After the previous battle, Tianlu Sacred Land’s effective forces had been almost entirely scattered. The remaining cultivators had long fled down the mountain in disgrace. Only a few unwilling ones lingered at the summit.
Under Mo Fan’s Blue-Eyed Insight divine ability, these cultivators had nowhere to hide. Not even a decent Core Formation cultivator among them, so Mo Fan ignored them outright.
Instead, two righteous path forces stood out particularly.
One consisted of merely a few people. The other had over a hundred cultivators.
From Qu You’s memories, Mo Fan easily identified their origins.
The small group of seven was Tianxuan Sacred Land, almost all Core Formation cultivators.
Among them were old and young, men and women.
Two impressed Mo Fan most.
One was a middle-aged man, extremely tall at over two metres, with inch-long hair standing like steel needles, dark skin, and an extraordinary bearing.
His cultivation was the highest in Tianxuan Sacred Land: great circle Core Formation!
The other was a young girl. Her looks were not outstanding but far better than average women, and she had striking red hair unlike ordinary people.
The red hair cascaded like flames, hard to miss.
Her cultivation was only early Core Formation, yet she gave Mo Fan a rather dangerous feeling.
This girl was no simpleton!
Mo Fan’s eyes narrowed slightly. He trusted his sixth sense strongly, based on its accuracy in sensing danger along the way.
He then looked at the force of over a hundred. All wore uniform star-moon dao robes. No need to ask; he knew they were from Tianxing Sacred Land.
Through his divine ability, Mo Fan found most were Foundation Establishment cultivators, with only five Core Formation ones.
One was a white-haired late Core Formation elder. The mid Core Formation pair were middle-aged, one man and one woman.
The remaining two early Core Formation cultivators were also one man and one woman.
The man was youthful, with sword-like brows and starry eyes, very handsome. His every gesture exuded heroism, surrounded by a group of attractive female cultivators.
One of the women among them was also youthful and beautiful. Though seated on the ground, her eyes never left the man for a moment.
Male sea king and female simp?
This thought involuntarily popped into Mo Fan’s mind.
Besides the three supreme forces, there were some first-grade and ordinary forces. None had many people; the largest had just over ten, and their faces looked grim.
Clearly, these forces had suffered considerable losses in this Dragon Ruins treasure hunt.
Mo Fan spotted an old acquaintance among them: the tower-like cultivator, Cang Gu!
Cang Gu sensed Mo Fan’s gaze and instinctively looked over. After checking no one noticed, he waved at Mo Fan in greeting.
Mo Fan turned his head with a sour expression.
He knew Cang Gu’s type well: seemingly cheerful, but likely to stab in the back over interests. A classic smiling tiger.
Mo Fan naturally dared not associate deeply with such a person.
Next, he turned to the demonic path camp.
Only two forces there, easy to distinguish.
Those carrying coffins were Corpse Yin Sect cultivators who loved playing with corpses. The group in sun-moon dao robes beside them was Sun Moon Divine Cult.
In Corpse Yin Sect, a late Core Formation old fellow presided, with especially dense corpse qi. Pale green mist was visible to the naked eye, and even sect mates kept distance.
Besides him, a youth carrying a coffin on his back, nearly as burly as Cang Gu, caught Mo Fan’s eye.
No reason other than his uniqueness. Other Corpse Yin disciples sat atop coffins, but this fellow, built like a mini-giant, carried one on his back without looking odd.
He was bare-chested, muscles bulging with clear lines, and eye-catching rune tattoos covered his body.
Wherever he stood, he was the focus!
Under Blue-Eyed Insight, Mo Fan saw his cultivation was mid Core Formation.
Perhaps sensing the gaze, the youth opened his eyes, grinned at Mo Fan, and drew a finger across his neck.
Mo Fan paid no mind and skipped to Sun Moon Divine Cult.
Their followers were most peculiar: paired male-female, six pairs, twelve people total, intimately close like couples.
Besides one middle-aged pair, the rest ten were youths.
The middle-aged pair were both late Core Formation. Of the ten youths, six were Foundation Establishment, four early or mid Core Formation.
Mo Fan knew little of Sun Moon Divine Cult, only that it worshipped the sun and moon, seemingly not committing great evils. Yet the divine domain’s righteous path branded it “heretical”.
From the scene, Sun Moon Divine Cult looked nothing like obviously evil sects like Corpse Yin or Soul Refining. In fact, they seemed more righteous than some nearby righteous cultivators…
Of course, what annoyed Mo Fan was how much they flaunted affection.
Entering Dragon Ruins for treasure was fine, but coming in pairs? Afraid of loneliness during the hunt, or worried about cheating?
No wonder branded “heretical”. Probably too envy-inducing!
Soon Mo Fan looked at the demon clan side.
Besides the three Dragon King Sea demons he had “friendly” exchanged with, there were a group of tall figures and a group of sneaky, rat-like fellows.
The rat-like demon cultivators were most numerous, over fifty. A sweep with Blue-Eyed Insight made Mo Fan frown.
Good grief, all fifty-plus were pure rat demons, with ten King-realm great demons, two at peak King realm.
Those two peak demon kings looked odd too: besides ugliness, one fat one thin, one tall one short, quite complementary.
Though ugly and unremarkable, in King-realm combat power, they topped all forces present.
Their identity was obvious. Besides the mysterious Bottomless Cave, where else had so many rat spirits?
Mo Fan could only sincerely marvel at Bottomless Cave rats’ fertility.
Intentionally or not, from the start, Mo Fan sensed one rat spirit constantly spying on him.
But following the gaze, he could not pinpoint who.
This raised a trace of vigilance in Mo Fan’s heart.
