“Laibao bids Master farewell!”
Mo Fan laughed heartily.
The Demon-Suppressing Talisman descended, bursting with dazzling blood-red light, instantly crushing every bone in the Scorpion Demon’s body!
In a critical moment, Mo Fan had a flash of inspiration and opened his mouth, using the Heaven-Devouring Technique to swallow the still-breathing Scorpion Demon into his inner space!
Boom!
The talisman hit the ground, causing a tremendous noise, shaking the entire cave for a moment.
When the disturbance subsided, Mo Fan, still shaken, looked at the Demon-Suppressing Talisman, only to see its blood-red glow fade as the talisman inexplicably caught fire.
“My talisman!!”
Mo Fan froze, then cried out in anguish, moving toward it, but the pain from his injuries made him break out in a cold sweat.
Watching the talisman burn to ashes, Mo Fan sighed helplessly, a trace of lingering fear in his heart.
He hadn’t expected a mere talisman to wield such terrifying power, capable of killing a formidable Demon Ding like the Scorpion Demon in an instant. Truly terrifying!
If not for Mo Yan’s help back then, he might have met the same fate.
Mo Fan took a deep breath, then felt a vast surge of spiritual qi suddenly appear within his body.
His eyes lit up.
The feedback had begun!
As expected, the spiritual qi was as abundant as ordinary yellow-grade spirit wine, instantly flooding his limbs and bones, especially concentrating around the gaping wound in his chest.
A tingling sensation followed, filling Mo Fan with joy, knowing it was healing his injuries.
This time, he was gravely wounded, likely the worst injury he’d suffered since arriving in this world.
But Mo Fan wasn’t overly worried. He was no longer mortal but a demon!
For a demon, as long as the injury wasn’t fatal, it wouldn’t truly claim his life.
Then, Mo Fan noticed more spiritual qi no longer flowing to his limbs but gathering in his lower abdomen’s dantian, forming a vortex similar to the one in his mind.
The difference was that the vortex in his mind was demonic qi, while the one in his dantian was spiritual qi.
After the spiritual qi came a torrent of demonic qi feedback.
The density of the demonic qi shocked Mo Fan, surpassing all the demonic qi he possessed!
In an instant, the demonic qi vortex in his mind doubled in size, its power seemingly greater.
Vaguely, Mo Fan felt he was touching a bottleneck, needing just a bit more demonic qi to break through.
But in the end, he sighed. Though the demonic qi from devouring the Scorpion Demon was vast, it fell short.
“Such immense demonic qi… what level of cultivation had that Scorpion Demon reached?”
Mo Fan muttered, clearly sensing that even his current demonic qi couldn’t compare to the Scorpion Demon’s.
Though both were in the Demon Ding Realm, the Scorpion Demon’s cultivation far exceeded his!
This explained why the Charm Eye’s effect didn’t last long on him.
Just then, a piece of information flashed in Mo Fan’s mind, stirring his heart, “This is… a technique?!”
From the moment he used the Heaven-Devouring Technique to swallow the Scorpion Demon, Mo Fan had hoped to seize his technique.
But it required the Scorpion Demon to possess a technique, or the attempt would fail.
Mo Fan hadn’t held much hope, as techniques were rare among demons. He hadn’t heard of any on Black Wind Mountain possessing one.
Yet, the Scorpion Demon had indeed comprehended a technique, an offensive one at that.
“Technique, Tail Sting?”
Mo Fan murmured. Nourished by the spiritual qi, his chest wound had improved, not fully healed but far less painful.
Tail Sting was the technique he’d gained.
But embarrassingly, it seemed only a scorpion demon could use it, requiring a scorpion tail as a medium.
“What a joke! So I’ve gained a useless technique I can’t even use?”
Mo Fan gritted his teeth, frustrated. He hadn’t expected this outcome.
A technique he couldn’t wield…
“No, though it’s a technique, it requires a specific medium to cast.
Just like my Heaven-Devouring needs an inner space as a medium.
Charm Eye needs eyes as a medium.
So, could I use something else for Tail Sting?”
Mo Fan mused, a smile spreading across his face moments later.
He had an answer!
If he lacked a scorpion tail, he’d use his tongue instead!
What was a toad’s greatest weapon besides venom? Its tongue, of course.
If venom could be a weapon, why not a tongue?
Without hesitation, Mo Fan began adapting the Tail Sting technique to his tongue.
After several attempts, his eyes grew brighter, realising that using his tongue as the medium seemed more reliable than a tail sting.
The tongue was closer to the demonic qi vortex, making the technique faster to deploy!
Plus, hidden in the mouth, it could be a perfect sneak attack at critical moments!
Most crucially, Mo Fan’s control over his tongue surpassed even his hands.
Half a day later, Mo Fan opened his mouth, his tongue shooting out like a spear, piercing the cave wall opposite.
The hard wall was pierced like tofu!
“Swish!”
A blur flashed as Mo Fan retracted his tongue, thrilled at the hole in the wall.
He’d succeeded!
“Since it’s a technique launched with the tongue, it can’t be called ‘Tail Sting’ anymore. Let’s call it ‘Tongue Arrow’!”
Mo Fan muttered, pleased. With Tongue Arrow, he now possessed three techniques!
Looking at his chest, he saw the bloody hole had shrunk, no longer bleeding, easing his mind.
As he prepared to head to the spring pool to devour the dragon loach, footsteps reached his ears.
Mo Fan’s face turned cold as he sat cross-legged, looking toward the cave entrance.
Sure enough, a figure slowly entered, catching Mo Fan’s eye and making him pause, ready to strike.
It wasn’t the Scorpion Demon’s three attendants or the monkey demon Laifu, but the rabbit demon Red Eye!
Red Eye had fully recovered from the skinning punishment, his fur “regrown.”
“Laibao?”
Red Eye was startled by Mo Fan’s appearance.
In his eyes, Mo Fan was bloodied, with a massive pit in the ground nearby, as if something had happened in the dim cave.
“It’s me.”
Mo Fan spoke, sounding weary.
“You alright?”
Red Eye stepped closer, shocked again by Mo Fan’s state.
“You… you’ve manifested your full spirit form?!”
Red Eye gaped, then exclaimed, “Damn, you’ve broken through to the Demon Ding Realm, haven’t you?!”
