The sudden scene stunned all the demon cultivators on Black Wind Mountain.
They had not even grasped what had happened when Mo Fan, who had been utterly arrogant moments earlier, spat blood, his armour shattered, and his entire body was hurled heavily against a distant cliff face, causing the whole mountain peak to tremble slightly.
Feeling the vibration beneath their feet, the demons paled, fully aware of how terrifying that strike had been.
Boom!
At that instant, dazzling seven-coloured light suddenly burst in the sky above Black Wind Mountain, as though some attack had been blocked, sending flames of light splashing in all directions.
“What, can’t afford to lose?”
In the air, the Eight-Eyed King in flowing blue robes revealed himself, looking down coldly at Granny Sparrow.
“Fellow daoist, you yourselves agreed to this wager earlier. Is the phoenix cry mountain’s demon ancestor really so small-minded?”
Seeing Granny Sparrow intervene, the Black Horn Demon Ancestor’s face darkened, and he could not resist a mocking remark.
After this brief exchange, he felt much more confident. Although that toad demon possessed astonishing combat strength, he was still far inferior to the Eight-Eyed King.
“It’s not that this old woman can’t accept loss, it’s that you two can’t!”
Granny Sparrow shook her head and sneered, “Didn’t you just say it would be a fight at the same realm?”
“Using peak realm to suppress early realm, is that what you call a fight at the same realm?”
“Is this your idea of fairness?”
“What’s so difficult about that!”
The Eight-Eyed King frowned slightly, then spoke with a cold laugh, “Then this king shall also suppress his cultivation…”
Before he could finish, the Black Horn Demon Ancestor high in the sky cut in, “This ancestor sees no problem. A fight at the same realm, may I ask, is the Eight-Eyed King not a great demon of the king realm?”
The Eight-Eyed King frowned again, but said nothing more, merely watching the two demon ancestors debate with interest.
Granny Sparrow also frowned. Strictly speaking, the other side was not wrong. They had said same realm, but never specified identical cultivation level.
Yet from that brief clash, she was deeply worried for Mo Fan. As his granny, how could she stand by and watch him be defeated?
Just as she was about to speak, a slightly hoarse voice came from afar.
“Granny, I’m fine!”
“Cough cough… You don’t need to worry about me. I will not lose. Have you forgotten about that feather?”
“Rest assured, I know how to protect myself at critical moments. I rather value my life!”
“After all, all these little demons on the mountain still need me to guard them… cough cough cough!”
Mo Fan walked out from the crater in the mountain. Apart from coughing a little when he spoke, there was not the slightest injury left on his body, and even the dark red armour covering him had returned to perfect condition.
Mo Fan’s words moved Granny Sparrow, who said helplessly said, “You really are a stubbornly proud child!”
“Do you still remember what granny told you before?”
“Of course I remember!”
Mo Fan smiled and nodded.
When he had acknowledged Granny Sparrow as his granny, she had told him that life was the foundation of everything. No matter how one fought, the first and foremost one must preserve one’s own life.
In truth, even without her saying it, Mo Fan would treat those words as his life creed.
As a transmigrator who had finally gained a second life, and whose cultivation path had been exceptionally smooth, he naturally cherished his life more than anyone right now.
While the two were speaking, the Eight-Eyed King up above sneered, “Did you hear that? This ugly toad has already agreed himself. Surely this demon ancestor won’t object any longer?”
At those words, Granny Sparrow’s gaze instantly turned razor-sharp.
“Ugly toad?”
Mo Fan raised his head at that moment to look at the Eight-Eyed King, suddenly burst out laughing, and said gravely, “Very good!”
“Eight-Eyed King, is it?”
“You have already chosen the path to your death!”
With that, the instant Mo Fan looked at the Eight-Eyed King, he activated his Sapphire Eyes divine ability.
Octopus demon, peak demon king!
An octopus demon?
Mo Fan’s brow furrowed slightly, instantly feeling this would be rather troublesome.
He knew some characteristics of octopuses: camouflage ability superior even to a chameleon, regeneration comparable to an olm, and terrifying strength capable of pulling dozens of times their own body weight…
“It seems the reason this fellow vanished earlier was that he used a divine ability similar to camouflage, except this one is even more exaggerated. It has evolved beyond mere colour change into some kind of complete concealment ability!”
Mo Fan thought to himself, quickly analysing most of the Eight-Eyed King’s traits.
Concealment was not the most troublesome part; the regeneration ability was the truly fearsome one.
While Mo Fan was thinking, the Eight-Eyed King in the air vanished without a trace once more.
This time, before the Eight-Eyed King could attack, Mo Fan preemptively activated his Dragon Aura Body Protection divine ability.
Hum…
Golden dragon aura transformed into brilliant golden light that appeared around his body.
Sure enough, the moment the golden dragon aura manifested, Mo Fan once again sensed danger approaching.
This time he struck first, throwing a fierce punch in the direction he sensed.
Boom!
A tremendous explosion rang out over Black Wind Mountain. Because it was too close to the ground, the resulting shockwave directly sent some weaker little demons flying.
At the critical moment, demon kings such as Fire Spirit and Black Cloth acted, rescuing those little demons.
Seeing this, Mo Fan shot into the sky, moving far away from Black Wind Mountain to avoid the battle affecting those little demons.
Yet very soon he was sent flying back again, heavily struck by an invisible force.
“Give up!”
“You can’t even find where this king is. What qualification do you have to fight this king?”
“This will be a completely one-sided battle. You have no chance at all!”
The Eight-Eyed King’s voice echoed from every direction, making it impossible for Mo Fan to pinpoint him by sound.
“Even divine sense cannot lock onto this king. What will you use to defeat me?”
“With that laughable pride of yours?”
The Eight-Eyed King laughed loudly, his laughter filled with mockery.
“Every divine ability has flaws. Your concealment ability is no exception. This king believes he has already found a way to drag you out!”
Mo Fan gave a cold laugh, then soared into the sky once more. This time he flew straight toward that suspended ocean in the heavens.
Along the way he suffered several more attacks, but none of them truly injured him. The formidable defence of his protective dragon aura was displayed to its fullest.
After repeated charges, Mo Fan finally arrived beneath the upside-down sea.
Immediately afterwards, dazzling purple lightning burst from his body.
Divine ability: Wind-Thunder Violet Lightning!
With a low shout in his heart, the entire sky grew overcast, countless lightning serpents writhing within the thunderclouds.
As Mo Fan released the lightning power within him, the thunderclouds expanded at a visible speed, eventually covering the whole vault of heaven and cutting off the connection between the ocean and the earth below.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom…
As Mo Fan pushed Wind-Thunder Violet Lightning to its limit, bolt after bolt of thunder rained down in a frenzy, like a torrential storm.
The suspended ocean behind the thunderclouds was instantly filled with lightning as well.
The Black Horn Demon Ancestor shot out of that sea almost instantly, his face livid.
He had never imagined that one day he would be forced out of his own ancestral domain by another demon.
Although the lightning could not seriously injure him, it was still extremely uncomfortable.
Found you!
Amidst the frenzied lightning coverage, Mo Fan finally noticed an anomaly in a patch of empty space.
Without any hesitation, he immediately brought out the seven-coloured plume that Granny Sparrow had given him.
“Die!”
The next moment, he swung the plume. Boundless seven-coloured radiance erupted, brilliant and beautiful.
The seven-coloured light swept through the void, as though erecting a rainbow across the sky!
