In the sky, the two demon ancestors faced each other in tense confrontation.
On the other side, the Eight-Eyed King wore a frenzied expression. He showed no intention of stopping. His tentacles instantly swept through the void and coiled around Mo Fan’s body.
“Ugh…”
Mo Fan let out a muffled groan. The protective dragon aura around him shone even more brilliantly, resisting the crushing force of the Eight-Eyed King.
“You cannot hold!”
The Eight-Eyed King laughed viciously. Countless needle-like spikes emerged from his suckers and stabbed fiercely at the golden dragon aura, yet the effect was minimal.
“Damn it! What exactly is that golden light around this brat? Even I can barely breach it!”
“Could he be carrying some powerful defensive treasure?”
The Eight-Eyed King narrowed his eyes, then dragged Mo Fan towards himself.
“If one tentacle cannot break your defence, then I will use every tentacle on you. I refuse to believe I cannot crack this turtle shell!”
“Great King!!”
Black Cloth grew anxious at the sight, but just as she shot upward again, a black figure appeared before her, blocking the way.
“Black Cloth, don’t be rash!”
A calm voice sounded in front of her, making her frown.
“Get out of my way!”
“The Great King has already been seized by that Eight-Eyed King. If we don’t save him now, he will be in danger!”
Black Cloth gritted her teeth and glared coldly at the ghostly figure before her.
“Relax. The Great King will be fine. Have you ever seen him act without reason?”
White Cloth sighed helplessly.
“What do you mean?” Black Cloth frowned.
“Don’t you understand? The Great King accepted this fight willingly from the very start.”
“That means he is absolutely confident of victory! Otherwise, with his cautious nature, he would never have agreed!”
“Also, you came out of the True Dragon Lair with the Great King. Do you still not know his true strength?”
“This Eight-Eyed King may be strong, but how does he compare to the Chi Dragon Saint King? How does he compare to Old Witch?”
White Cloth fired several questions in succession, instantly calming much of Black Cloth’s urgency.
Although White Cloth had not entered the True Dragon Lair himself, he had heard plenty about it from Black Cloth.
“If the Great King truly has confidence, why would he allow that fellow to capture him?” Black Cloth asked gravely.
“I don’t know, but it is most likely part of the Great King’s plan. He must have his reasons. What we need to do is not ruin his plan and trust him!”
White Cloth looked at Black Cloth with complete seriousness.
“Ultimately, this is only your guess!”
Black Cloth frowned. Seeing Mo Fan about to be pulled right up to the gigantic octopus demon, she grew anxious again.
White Cloth sighed and gave a wry smile. “Have you stopped believing even your own brother’s words?”
“Even if my guess is wrong, do you think you can rescue the Great King with your strength?”
“Besides, aren’t there so many demon kings far stronger than you here, plus Old Ancestor Bai Lu?”
“Old Ancestor Bai Lu isn’t panicking. Why are you?”
At those words, Black Cloth’s eyes instantly lit up.
That’s right!
Old Ancestor Bai Lu!
Upon hearing this, Black Cloth immediately flew towards Old Ancestor Bai Lu.
White Cloth stared blankly for a moment, then sighed again.
He understood. The little girl who once needed his protection had grown up.
When Black Cloth reached Old Ancestor Bai Lu, she found Bai Yaoyao already standing there.
“Both of you, don’t bother trying to persuade this old man to act. When the time truly comes, I will intervene. I won’t let anything happen to the one you care about!”
Before either demoness could speak, Old Ancestor Bai Lu rolled his eyes, then ignored them both. He narrowed his eyes and gazed at Mo Fan.
He knew that if Mo Fan really possessed that item, now would be the moment to use it.
So he waited.
He waited for Mo Fan to reveal his hand.
Still, he felt nervous at this moment. After all, Granny Sparrow had personally asked him to watch over Mo Fan. He could not truly let anything happen to the boy, or he would have no way to explain himself.
Moreover, he himself would never allow Mo Fan to come to harm.
All things considered, apart from suspecting that Mo Fan carried an immortal treasure, he genuinely admired the young toad.
Invincible within the same realm was not mere boasting. Old Ancestor Bai Lu had seen Mo Fan’s excellence with his own eyes.
That was precisely why he was so optimistic about Mo Fan’s future.
If Mo Fan could step into the ancestral realm, he might become an existence like the Demon Saint King!
Therefore, whether the immortal treasure existed or not, he was willing to take the risk.
Adding flowers to brocade could never compare to offering charcoal in snowy weather.
And so, under the gaze of all the demons, Mo Fan was dragged directly beneath the Eight-Eyed King. Several tentacles moved together, wrapping Mo Fan almost completely.
“Break for me!”
The Eight-Eyed King roared. Terrifying strength erupted, squeezing the golden dragon aura until it grew increasingly dim, yet he still could not achieve a decisive breakthrough.
“Cough cough… Eight-Eyed King, you cannot breach my defence!”
“Once I purge the poison from my body, it will be your doom!”
Mo Fan’s voice emerged from beneath the Eight-Eyed King, causing the latter’s expression to grow darker and darker. It also made Old Ancestor Bai Lu, who had been about to rescue him, pause once more.
“So it was poison…”
Far away, a glint flashed in White Cloth’s eyes. He instantly understood Mo Fan’s intention.
As Mo Fan’s attendant ghost, he had naturally witnessed some of Mo Fan’s abilities. Poison was one of Mo Fan’s methods!
He even knew that Mo Fan’s poisons could fuse with one another, thereby erupting into something far more terrifying.
“Purge this king’s poison?”
“Delusional!”
The Eight-Eyed King burst into wild laughter. Immediately afterwards, needle-like spikes emerged once more from the suckers on his tentacles. This time they pierced through the protective dragon aura with almost no resistance and stabbed fiercely into Mo Fan’s body.
“Ah…!!”
Mo Fan screamed. His entire body turned blue in an instant.
“My poison ranks among the top three in the entire Dragon King Sea. Even demon ancestors dare not let it invade them. A mere toad demon who has only just entered the demon king realm, how could you possibly resist?”
Mo Fan’s screams continued, making all the watching demons uneasy.
Even Old Ancestor Bai Lu could not help frowning. He thought to himself, “This brat really can endure. He’s screaming like that and still refuses to bring out that thing?”
“Or does he really not have it?”
“Damn it. If this continues, the boy definitely won’t hold out!”
Old Ancestor Bai Lu’s expression turned ugly. Finally he sighed and said, “This ancestor is simply too kind-hearted!”
He prepared to act.
But at that moment, Bai Yaoyao suddenly cried out, “Old Ancestor Bai Lu, wait a little longer!”
“Mm?”
Old Ancestor Bai Lu turned to her with curiosity. The other female demons also looked at Bai Yaoyao.
“Sister Yaoyao, what do you mean? The Great King has no time left!”
Black Cloth frowned, somewhat displeased.
“Don’t worry. The Great King will be fine!”
Bai Yaoyao merely shook her head and spoke calmly, “I have followed the Great King far longer than you. Do you think I would ever harm him?”
Black Cloth froze, then recalled what White Cloth had said earlier and fell silent.
Could the Great King really have another purpose?
Old Ancestor Bai Lu narrowed his eyes and asked curiously, “Little white snake, are you saying your Great King still has a way to turn things around?”
“At first I didn’t believe it either, but now I suddenly understand what the Great King’s intention.”
Bai Yaoyao gave a faint smile yet did not answer directly.
Among all the demons of Black Wind Mountain, perhaps only she truly understood Mo Fan. Naturally, she also knew that Mo Fan was completely immune to poison.
Since he was immune to poison, why was he screaming?
The answer was obvious!
