When that vast divine sense swept over, Mo Fan did not resist at all. He knew perfectly well that the power of the Sun Moon Holy Sect was far beyond what his current clone could contend with.
After the divine sense passed, he turned to the two beside him and instructed, “In a moment, someone will probably come over. Unless your lives are truly in danger, do not put up any resistance.”
“Yes!”
Little Yellow and Yu Nian nodded at once.
Mo Fan gave Yu Nian a deep look and said calmly, “Stay close to me later. If we get through this safely, this king will personally guide your cultivation.”
Yu Nian nodded. Yet she clearly understood the hidden meaning behind his words. On the surface it sounded encouraging, but it was also a subtle warning.
Sure enough, not long after he spoke, an elder came walking across the waves.
The elder wore the Sun and Moon robes of the Holy Sect, hands clasped behind his back. He ran across the sea surface at what seemed a leisurely pace, yet he left a lingering after-image upon the water.
“You three little friends, my young lady invites you aboard.”
“Please accompany this old man for a visit.”
The elder stopped more than ten zhang away from Mo Fan’s ship, then rose into the air, gazing at the three with a frosty expression.
“May I ask who your young lady is?” Mo Fan looked at the elder and asked.
“Enough nonsense. Come with me and you’ll find out.”
The elder snorted coldly. Terrifying Core Formation pressure instantly burst from him, intending to cow the three.
“Since when do early Core Formation cultivators act so arrogantly?” Mo Fan laughed coldly. He had already seen through the elder’s cultivation, so he released his own aura without hesitation.
Boom!
Frightening spiritual pressure erupted, causing the sea around the ship to surge violently. The elder hovering in the sky changed countenance slightly.
He had only swept them with divine sense earlier and sensed spiritual energy on all three, but he had never expected that one of them was actually a Core Formation cultivator, and at a higher stage than himself!
This discovery made the elder frown. He was about to berate them when a cool, clear voice came from behind.
“Fellow daoist, we are cultivators of the Sun Moon Holy Sect. If you do not mind, please come aboard for a chat.”
As the words rang out, an even more majestic divine sense instantly enveloped the three on the ship.
Mo Fan narrowed his eyes, then smiled. “So you are fellow daoists of the Sun Moon Holy Sect?”
“In that case, we are family. Naturally, this seat must pay a visit!”
With that, mana surged. He swept up the two beside him, rose into the air, and with a casual wave stored the large ship below into his storage ring. Then he flew towards the elder, grinning. “Since you are from the Sun Moon Holy Sect, why didn’t you say so earlier? We really are family. Please don’t take offence at what just happened.”
“Hmph! Who is family with you?”
The elder’s face darkened further before he turned and flew away with a flick of his sleeve.
Mo Fan was not annoyed. He simply followed and soon arrived on the Sun Moon Holy Sect’s vessel.
The moment he hovered above the great ship, he took in everything below.
There were not many cultivators aboard, only a dozen or so in total.
Most were peak Foundation Establishment cultivators, with three at Core Formation realm.
Upon seeing those three, memories instantly surfaced regarding two of them.
One was the beautiful woman seated cross-legged on the deck: Yue Liu, the Holy Sect’s saintess, late Core Formation cultivation.
The other was a withered old man, a protector of the Sun Moon Holy Sect known as Venerable Demon Sun. Mo Fan did not know his true name, only his dao title.
The Holy Sect had eight great protectors in total. This Venerable Demon Sun was one of them, at peak Core Formation. His strength was unfathomably deep!
Mo Fan had seen many tales of this man in Yue Chan’s memories. The venerable had once single-handedly destroyed two second-grade sects. His power was truly fearsome!
As for the third Core Formation cultivator, a middle-aged woman of mid Core Formation like Mo Fan himself, he knew nothing about her.
The Sun Moon Holy Sect possessed three main altars, each with its own saintess and saint child, along with their respective forces.
Although saintesses and saint children visited the other altars from time to time, they could only remember a limited number of powerful cultivators. Most ordinary members remained unfamiliar, mainly because they never bothered to commit them to memory.
“Saintess, the people have been brought.”
The gloomy elder landed and spoke to Yue Liu, who was meditating with closed eyes.
“Many thanks for your trouble, Elder Fei.”
Yue Liu opened her eyes, nodded to the elder, then raised her head to look at Mo Fan’s trio. She smiled faintly. “May I ask which family on Three Saints Island you three fellow daoists belong to?”
“No misunderstanding here. We are definitely not from Three Saints Island!”
Mo Fan waved his hand at once and descended onto the deck with the two beside him.
The instant his feet touched the ship, he felt several gazes lock firmly onto him.
He paid them no mind and instead greeted everyone with familiar ease, laughing. “Hello, everyone! No need to stare like that. We really are family!”
“Family?”
A trace of suspicion flashed through Yue Liu’s eyes. Her brows furrowed slightly as she gave a cold laugh. “Fellow daoist, please don’t joke. Who is family with you?”
“Big sister, I truly am not a cultivator from Three Saints Island!”
Mo Fan put on an innocent expression. Seeing the surrounding cultivators grow increasingly hostile, he wisely backed off and coughed twice. “If we really were from Three Saints Island, would we dare board your ship? We would have fled in terror long ago!”
“I’ve heard all about your recent magnificent deeds. My blood boils just thinking of them!”
“Whether that is true is not for you to decide. Let this old man search your soul, and your innocence will naturally be proven!”
Venerable Demon Sun, who had remained silent until now, cracked a grin and flickered forward, appearing right in front of the three.
Mo Fan jumped at those words and hurriedly raised his hands. “Senior, no need for that!”
Venerable Demon Sun said nothing. He simply reached out to grab Mo Fan.
Mo Fan inwardly cried that things had gone badly. A heavenly sun mark emerged on his forehead as he struck out with his palm.
Boom!
In an instant, boundless radiance burst from his palm, transforming into an enormous hand of light and flame. Scorching heat filled the air as a deafening roar erupted.
“Hmm?”
Surprise flashed through Venerable Demon Sun’s eyes. He gave a cold snort. A heavenly sun mark likewise appeared on his forehead as black light-flame surged from his hand, forming an equally massive flaming palm.
Boom!
The two gigantic flaming palms collided in an instant.
Mo Fan’s technique shattered immediately. Feeling the terrifying might of the opposing palm, he dared not hold back any longer. He rapidly formed seals and executed Great Sun Across the Sky.
In a flash, his body turned into a blazing sun that instantly enveloped the two beside him and fled from the spot.
Boom!
The black flaming palm ultimately slammed into the sea, sending endless clouds of steam billowing upward.
Venerable Demon Sun did not strike again. Instead, he frowned at the new sun now hanging in the sky and said gravely, “Boy, who taught you the Sun Heaven Scripture?”
“Can’t I be a disciple of our Sun Moon Holy Sect?”
From within the blazing sun, Mo Fan rolled his eyes and replied jokingly.
