Spring Pool Cave.
That’s the name Mo Fan gave his cave abode.
He was currently sitting cross-legged inside, sorting through his spoils. As for Lu Tantan, he’d already sent it back, while Mr. Pig had voluntarily taken up guard duty at the cave entrance, claiming he’d serve his master loyally from now on.
This made Mo Fan sigh with appreciation, deciding to name Mr. Pig his trusted demon follower.
Among his group of lesser demons, if asked who he trusted most, aside from Red Eyes, with whom he’d faced life and death, it would likely be this pig demon.
Not even the ox demon, Dali, could compare.
Though Dali was honest and had guided Mo Fan several times, he’d been at Black Wind Mountain far too long, making Mo Fan less familiar with him.
Though he’d only just met Mr. Pig, the demon was bought by Mo Fan, essentially his property. New to Black Wind Mountain and unfamiliar with everything, Mr. Pig naturally gravitated towards him.
In this den of demons, the only one Mr. Pig could trust was Mo Fan, the master who’d freed him from the Spirit Beast Academy.
With Mr. Pig guarding the entrance, Mo Fan felt more at ease.
He spat out several storage bags, along with some flying swords, artifacts, and talismans.
After a thorough check, a wide grin spread across Mo Fan’s face.
This haul was a massive win!
Just the low-grade spirit stones totalled 1,400, almost matching what he’d spent on the golden brick artifact.
Six hundred came from the broadsword-wielding brute and his group, while 800 were from the unremarkable peak Qi Refining cultivator.
This surprised Mo Fan slightly; he hadn’t expected one person’s wealth to surpass the combined total of the others.
But considering the tricks that cultivator pulled at the end, Mo Fan guessed he was used to playing the oriole, preying on others, amassing such wealth at the cost of who-knows-how-many teammates.
Truly living up to the saying, “Let your friend die, not the poor cultivator.”
Beyond spirit stones, Mo Fan gained plenty of resources, mostly elixirs and spirit wine.
He didn’t recognise the elixirs but could sense their spiritual energy, indicating they were for cultivation or healing.
Two elixirs stood out, found in the peak Qi Refiner’s storage bag.
They were special because their spiritual energy was immense, nearly matching a low-grade Yellow-tier spirit herb.
The spirit wine was unremarkable, not even low-grade, far inferior to Monkey Wine, merely infused with faint spiritual energy.
There were also seven storage bags.
From what Mo Fan had learned at the market, these were valuable, each worth at least 50 low-grade spirit stones, making the seven worth 350!
Mo Fan tried nesting the storage bags, but it didn’t work, as if some rule prevented it.
After some thought, he understood: storage bags were artificially created spaces that could hold items but couldn’t merge with each other.
Next, Mo Fan turned his attention to a dark iron plaque embedded with a sword-shaped white jade in the centre, looking quite peculiar.
He examined it closely but found nothing, so he reluctantly moved on.
The rest included three flying swords, a few uniquely shaped artifacts, and several talismans.
What caught his eye most were two talismans and one flying sword.
One talisman he recognised: the Diamond Talisman. He remembered it vividly, having struggled to defeat the broadsword cultivator who used it.
Though it couldn’t withstand the golden brick’s ferocious attacks, its strong defence was undeniable. Without the brick, breaking its shield would’ve been tough.
The other talisman, taken from the enchanting female cultivator Wang Yunyun, was unknown but likely a powerful life-saving trump card.
The remaining talismans were mostly Speed Talismans, all from the peak Qi Refiner’s storage bag.
Finally, he examined the three flying swords: one wooden, two metal.
The wooden sword, the first he’d devoured, was ordinary. The two metal swords differed greatly; one, engraved with complex runes, had some significance.
This sword belonged to the peak Qi Refiner, likely his natal flying sword.
When Mo Fan took it, the cultivator lost his connection, suffering backlash.
From what Mo Fan knew, only a natal artifact could cause such backlash!
Moreover, this sword was the only one to clash with his golden brick without breaking, making it exceptional.
“The Hundred Weapons Pavilion said the golden brick is a high-grade artifact. If this sword can withstand it… could it also be a high-grade artifact?” Mo Fan muttered, his eyes brightening.
“If I can refine this sword into my arsenal, I’ll have another attack method, instead of lugging a door-sized brick everywhere…”
With that thought, Mo Fan began refining the sword.
With its original owner dead, the artifact’s imprinted aura had faded, making it easy for Mo Fan to refine, marking it with his demonic energy.
In half an incense stick’s time, the sword was fully his.
With a thought, using demonic energy to guide the imprint, the sword floated, dancing in the air as he willed, weaving sword patterns like a dragon or snake, slicing through mud and stone like tofu!
After playing with the sword, Mo Fan had a whimsical idea to stand on it and fly, achieving flight himself.
It failed.
“Not enough demonic energy to support my weight on the sword…”
Mo Fan muttered, then gave a wry smile, realising he was being fanciful, like trying to lift himself by stepping on his own foot.
He knew he’d need to reach the Demon General realm to fly.
He’d seen Black Wind Mountain’s three generals fly and had been chased by a monkey clan Demon General in the air.
Since he couldn’t do it now, Mo Fan shifted focus, deciding to refine the wooden sword as well!
After refining it, he compared the three swords. The wooden one was far inferior, likely a low-grade artifact. The other metal sword, with two runes, was probably mid-grade.
He didn’t refine the mid-grade sword, planning to use it differently.
The other artifacts were mostly low-grade, unremarkable, so Mo Fan didn’t bother refining them, storing them in his inner space. His gaze returned to the jade-embedded iron plaque.
“What is this thing?”
Found in the peak Qi Refiner’s storage bag, it likely wasn’t useless.
