Xiao Wen looked at Li Feng in surprise, “Young Master Feng, so you believe me?”
Li Feng nodded, “Hurry up and leave the Emperor’s Pavilion.” With that, he turned to leave.
“Young Master Feng, don’t go back. They really want to harm you.” Xiao Wen stepped forward, hugging Li Feng from behind.
Li Feng shook his head, “Take another exit and leave. Remember, don’t come back.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the bathroom.
“Young Master Feng!” Xiao Wen called out.
Li Feng paused, turning to look at her.
“Young Master Feng, my name is Qin Hongmian, not Xiao Wen,” she said earnestly, looking at him.
“I got it.” Li Feng nodded, then turned and left. He had more pressing matters. He wanted to know why Liu Shichao was trying to harm him and what secret they were after.
Entering the private room, seeing everyone having fun, Li Feng leaned close to Liu Shichao and said, “Liu Shichao, we had no grudges before, no conflicts recently. Tell me, why did you deliberately set me up?”
The beer in Liu Shichao’s hand shook as he laughed, “Young Master Feng, why would you say that? That really hurts my feelings. How could I set you up?”
A cold glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes, “One month ago, you got me to race. Did you tamper with my brakes? Speak!”
A sharp, three-inch curved knife pressed against Liu Shichao’s carotid artery. The icy blade made cold sweat break out on his forehead.
“Don’t shout, or you’re dead!” Li Feng’s body was close to Liu Shichao’s, “Tell me, who told you to do this? Don’t lie. My patience is limited.”
“Feng… Young Master Feng, don’t get excited, really, don’t get excited. Whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you! Everything!” Under the threat of death, Liu Shichao didn’t dare resist.
“Who told you to trick me into racing, and who tampered with my brakes?” Li Feng demanded.
“It… it was Brother Peng.” Fear made Liu Shichao’s voice even shriller, almost like a duck’s quack.
“Who’s Brother Peng?”
“The boss of the Emperor’s Pavilion. No, I don’t know if he’s the boss, but he runs this place. Young Master Feng, it was Brother Peng who told me to do it. He said if you died, he’d give me five billion and help me become the head of the Liu family. Really, it was all Brother Peng’s orders. You have to believe me.” Sweat dripped down Liu Shichao’s face, terrified that Li Feng’s hand might slip and end his life.
“Who exactly is this Brother Peng?” Li Feng asked.
“I… I really don’t know. I only know it’s somehow related to your family.” Liu Shichao desperately spilled everything he knew.
“How is it related to my family? Speak!” Li Feng’s tone grew colder.
“Young Master Feng! I really don’t know! I swear… I really don’t know!” Liu Shichao panicked, terrified that Li Feng would pin the blame on him.
Seeing Liu Shichao’s expression, Li Feng knew he was telling the truth. The hand holding the knife didn’t loosen but instead stabbed into Liu Shichao’s thigh with a “shlick.”
“Ah…”
Liu Shichao looked at Li Feng in horror, opening his mouth to scream.
Li Feng’s hand clamped down on Liu Shichao’s mouth, silencing him. Liu Shichao struggled desperately, knowing that while the stab wouldn’t kill him, the intense pain was unbearable.
Li Feng’s grip was strong and unyielding, covering Liu Shichao’s mouth.
Three seconds later, Liu Shichao stopped struggling and passed out.
Li Feng withdrew his hand, hid the knife, and then feigned panic, shouting, “Ah! Young Master Liu! Young Master Liu! What’s wrong? Somebody, help! Young Master Liu’s fainted!”
Shouting, he pressed the service bell.
The other five people in the room stopped, their heads dizzy, standing around Liu Shichao, asking in confusion, “What’s wrong? What happened? Did Young Master Liu get drunk?”
Soon, a waiter pushed open the door, saw Liu Shichao collapsed on the floor, and paled in fright.
Li Feng, pretending to be flustered, grabbed his clothes and stammered, “You… you handle this. I’m leaving! I’m out!”
With that, he stumbled out without looking back.
The five others in the room, dazed, fumbled to put on their clothes.
Soon, a clean-shaven middle-aged man entered the room, scanned it, and asked, “Where’s that kid Li Feng?”
“Boss, he got scared and ran off,” a waiter nearby replied.
The middle-aged man coldly glanced at Liu Shichao on the floor, “Send him to the hospital. And today’s incident—don’t breathe a word of it. You know the consequences if you do!”
“Yes, yes!” The surrounding people barely dared to breathe.
The middle-aged man turned, muttering, “Li Feng? Didn’t expect a loser like you could still fight back? Hmph!” With a cold smile, he walked away, his leather shoes clicking.
…
“Hmph, didn’t expect my car accident to be tied to my own family. This is getting more interesting.”
Leaving the Emperor’s Pavilion, a faint cold smile appeared on Li Feng’s face.
Checking the time, he saw it was still early and decided to visit the company.
Xiangfeng Investment Company was located in a 56-story skyscraper in Tianhai City’s industrial park. In less than a year since its founding, it had become a renowned investment firm in Tianhai City and even the mainland, all thanks to Hu Yuanyuan’s management.
Though Li Feng was the nominal vice president, this was his first time at the company.
“Who are you looking for?” As soon as he entered, a beautiful receptionist asked politely.
“I’m looking for Hu Yuanyuan.” Li Feng glanced at the receptionist, a woman in her twenties with a delicate face. Dressed in a dark grey professional outfit, her figure was graceful, and her bright, expressive eyes added a youthful charm to her lovely face, exuding a vibrant aura.
“You’re looking for President Hu?” A flash of surprise crossed the woman’s eyes, followed by realization. She thought to herself, *Another suitor for President Hu.*
Hmph, as if President Hu would meet just anyone.
With that thought, her gaze turned cold, “Do you have an appointment?”
“No.” Li Feng shook his head.
“Sorry, no appointment, no meeting with President Hu,” the woman said firmly.
Li Feng stared at her, saying, “What if I insist on seeing her?”
The woman shook her head resolutely, inwardly scoffing. She was certain this man was another spoiled rich kid chasing President Hu. Every rich kid who came to see her acted like this, throwing around threats.
Li Feng chuckled, waving his phone in front of her, “I’ll have your President Hu come down to get me herself.”
The woman’s eyes were full of disdain and disbelief. *Have President Hu come get you? Who do you think you are?*
Li Feng felt a surge of irritation. A mere receptionist dared to look at him like that. With a wicked grin, he said, “Beauty, how about a bet? If your President Hu comes down to get me, you give me a kiss. How’s that?”
“Li Feng, what are you doing here?”
Before Li Feng finished speaking, a cold voice interrupted.
