Tianya Pavilion, Private Room
Liu Shichao sat uneasily on the sofa. The recent upheaval in Tianhai City might be hidden from ordinary people, but not from him, the young master of the Liu family. The fall of the Black Stone Gang had turned the city’s underworld upside down, and even the Liu family wanted a piece of the pie.
But thinking of the one who caused all this—Li Feng—Liu Shichao felt a chill. He knew Li Feng was formidable, but he never imagined he’d be *this* formidable, wiping out the Black Stone Gang overnight.
The Black Stone Gang, Tianhai City’s top underworld force, was something even the Liu family treated with caution. Yet Li Feng had crushed it in a single night.
Recalling his past attempts to target Li Feng, Liu Shichao found it laughable. With Li Feng’s strength, how could he ever hope to challenge him?
Then there was Brother Peng’s task. Liu Shichao felt like crying. Not only was his life in Li Feng’s hands, but with Li Feng’s skills, could the Emperor’s Pavilion even kill him?
Creak!
The door opened with a soft sound, and Li Feng walked in.
“Young Master Feng,” Liu Shichao stood hurriedly, looking at him nervously.
Li Feng walked in expressionlessly, sat on the sofa, and only spoke when Liu Shichao was visibly anxious. “Young Master Liu, sit.”
“Thank you, Young Master Feng,” Liu Shichao sat cautiously.
“I heard you’ve been looking for me?” Li Feng glanced at him. “What’s the matter?”
“Young Master Feng, Brother Peng gave me a task,” Liu Shichao said, not daring to gamble with his life. Thinking of how Li Feng destroyed the Black Stone Gang, he spilled everything about Brother Peng’s orders without hesitation.
Li Feng’s expression turned cold. “It seems the Emperor’s Pavilion is determined to take my life. Aren’t you afraid they’ll retaliate for telling me this?”
“Young Master Feng, you’re joking. With your skills, how could the Emperor’s Pavilion be your match?” Liu Shichao shook his head, not optimistic about the Emperor’s Pavilion. After a pause, he continued, “Besides, my life is in your hands. If anything happens to you, I won’t last a month. As for their retaliation, if you destroy the Emperor’s Pavilion, how can they come after me?”
“You seem confident in me,” Li Feng said, surprised.
“If you can destroy the Black Stone Gang, you can destroy the Emperor’s Pavilion,” Liu Shichao said without hesitation. In his eyes, the Emperor’s Pavilion was far inferior to the Black Stone Gang.
Li Feng didn’t correct him. He knew little about the Emperor’s Pavilion, and though Liu Shichao was a small fry, getting information from him was a good start.
“Three days have passed. Hasn’t your Brother Peng told you to abandon this plan?” Li Feng asked calmly.
“No,” Liu Shichao shook his head. He’d been searching for Li Feng these three days without success. Logically, failing the task should’ve brought consequences from Brother Peng, but there’d been no reaction, which puzzled him.
Looking at Liu Shichao, Li Feng suddenly said, “Alright, Young Master Liu, I need you to do something for me.”

Emperor’s Pavilion
Ye Fei sat grimly in a wide office chair, two files on the desk before him: one detailing Li Feng’s takeover of the Sun Corporation, the other his destruction of the Black Stone Gang.
He’d read them five or six times, each time finding new insights.
“Li Feng, what secrets are you hiding?”
The Sun Corporation file showed Li Feng’s cunning and intellect, while the Black Stone Gang file revealed his overwhelming martial prowess. Possessing either would be a rarity, yet Li Feng had both.
Facing such a person, even Ye Fei, always brimming with confidence, felt at a loss.
Three days ago, when news of the Black Stone Gang’s fall reached him, he realized he wasn’t just dealing with Li Feng alone. Previously, he thought Li Feng’s cunning was his only strength, but the gang’s destruction revealed a powerful force behind him—one Ye Fei’s side had never detected. Moreover, Li Feng himself possessed formidable strength. This forced Ye Fei to halt his assassination plan and report to Brother Peng.
Brother Peng’s orders remained the same: find a way to kill Li Feng. But unlike before, there was no three-day deadline.
Even so, Ye Fei wasn’t optimistic. Over these three days, he’d devised countless plans, none viable against the current Li Feng, who was no longer the easy target he once was. With a powerful force at his back, he was a different beast.
Having operated in Tianhai City for years, Ye Fei knew the Black Stone Gang’s strength well. With the forces he controlled, he could destroy them, but not with Li Feng’s ease. This showed Li Feng’s forces were at least on par with his own.
Dealing with someone so powerful and intelligent was no easy task. In his years at the Emperor’s Pavilion, Ye Fei had handled countless enemies, but few were like Li Feng.
“I must find another way, and it can’t expose the Emperor’s Pavilion,” Ye Fei muttered, frowning. This time, Brother Peng’s orders differed: the assassination of Li Feng must not reveal the Emperor’s Pavilion’s involvement.
Ye Fei understood why. Li Feng’s martial forces meant exposing the Pavilion could bring disaster.
But how to kill Li Feng without using the Pavilion’s resources?
“Leave it to Liu Shichao? No, that won’t work. He’s a useless fool. How could he kill Li Feng? With Li Feng’s cunning, he’s probably already onto Liu Shichao. Using him is out of the question.”
Ye Fei’s fingers tapped the desk as strategies formed and were discarded. Against an ordinary person, his plans would work, but Li Feng was no ordinary man. How could someone like him be easy to deal with?
Initially, he considered kidnapping to subdue Li Feng, but the only person close to him was Hu Yuanyuan. Kidnapping her?
Ye Fei shook his head. Not even Brother Peng dared touch her. She was untouchable in Tianhai City for the Emperor’s Pavilion. Kidnapping her was off the table.
“Is there really no way?”
Ye Fei picked up the files again, his gaze locking onto a name.
“Someone, come in,” he called out.
A person dressed as a waiter entered.
“I need you to do something for me,” Ye Fei said, a glint of determination in his eyes.
