Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 174

In the end, Li Feng still did not devour Hu Yuanyuan. For one thing, her cultivation had only just begun, so taking her now would be the same as a few days ago. For another, Hu Yuanyuan told him that the Snow Jade Art required cultivation to the innate realm before the loss of virginity.

Upon hearing this news, Li Feng was dumbfounded. The innate realm, that was the level he had dreamed of. In his previous life, after cultivating for so long, he had never reached the innate realm. If he had to wait for Hu Yuanyuan to reach the innate realm, how much time would that take?

For a man, having a beautiful wife right there yet unable to perform the act of husband and wife was an utterly painful affair. Li Feng was extremely unwilling. Could he only look at this great beauty Hu Yuanyuan without touching her? But it was too late for regrets now. Unless he made Hu Yuanyuan abandon cultivating the Snow Jade Art, he could only wait until she reached the innate realm.

Reaching the innate realm was easier said than done.

“Come now, as long as I cultivate to the innate realm, you can do whatever you like.” Hu Yuanyuan, seeing Li Feng’s furrowed brows and downcast expression, could not help but speak up.

“The innate realm, do you know how difficult it is to cultivate to that level? What am I supposed to do in the meantime?” Li Feng sighed dejectedly.

“Just endure it a bit.” Hu Yuanyuan burst into giggles. Li Feng’s expression was too comical.

“Are you not afraid I will stray?” Li Feng looked at Hu Yuanyuan and said, “A handsome chap like me has plenty of admirers.”

“You, handsome? Do not take this the wrong way, but who in this world would fancy you?” Hu Yuanyuan curled her lip disdainfully.

“Hmph, look down on me, will you? One day, beauties will surround me, Li Feng.” Li Feng declared proudly.

“You?” Hu Yuanyuan’s face was full of scorn.

Hu Yuanyuan thought Li Feng was joking, but she did not know he was testing her. If Hu Yuanyuan knew what Li Feng was thinking now, she might well give him a sound thrashing immediately.

Though he could not take Hu Yuanyuan right then and there, Li Feng still pulled her onto the bed to spend the night together. That night was an unforgettable one for Hu Yuanyuan. Though she knew full well Li Feng dared not do anything to her because of her cultivation, she was still terribly nervous and did not fall asleep until the sky began to lighten at dawn.

Waking in the morning and looking at the sleeping Hu Yuanyuan, a smile tugged at Li Feng’s lips. He helped tuck the covers around her before quietly getting out of bed.

After a shower and a session of cultivating the Nine Heavens Heart Scripture in the gym, Li Feng returned to the living room to find Hu Yuanyuan already up.

“Why not sleep a bit longer?” Li Feng asked.

“There is much to do at the company today.” Hu Yuanyuan replied while reading the newspaper. Reading the paper was Hu Yuanyuan’s habit. Three hundred and sixty-five days a year, she never missed a day.

“Li Feng, is Zheng Haoyuan dead?” Hu Yuanyuan suddenly looked up and asked.

“Yes, though it was not by my hand.” Li Feng was taken aback and walked over, only to see a report on Zheng Haoyuan in the newspaper.

Hu Yuanyuan breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. She knew that if Li Feng had killed Zheng Haoyuan, he would never deny it. Since Li Feng now said Zheng Haoyuan was not killed by him, then it certainly was not.

“Then how did this Zheng Haoyuan die?” Hu Yuanyuan thought of how Zheng Haoyuan had been targeting her and Xu Qing yesterday, only to die inexplicably today. She felt somewhat puzzled.

“I do not know, perhaps he offended too many people. But with his death, you are safe.” Li Feng said flatly. He was very satisfied with the glasses man’s performance. If the glasses man had not killed Zheng Haoyuan, though Zheng Haoyuan could no longer pose a danger to him, he would still have been a nuisance.

“So, does this mean the matter of those chemical machines is over?” Hu Yuanyuan breathed another sigh of relief. From the Tian Hai Customs incident until now, it had been an uphill struggle for Feng Yuan Group. She feared any misstep might bring unnecessary trouble to the company.

“Over?” A faint smile curved Li Feng’s lips as he looked at Hu Yuanyuan and said, “This is not over. It has only just begun.”

“What do you mean?” Hu Yuanyuan looked at Li Feng in confusion, not quite understanding his meaning.

“Zheng Haoyuan was merely a frontman. The true mastermind behind the scenes has yet to be dealt with.” Li Feng smiled and said, “If Zheng Haoyuan had not been so dangerous, I truly would not have wanted to resolve him so quickly.”

“Mastermind behind the scenes, what mastermind?” Hu Yuanyuan was momentarily stunned upon hearing this. Clearly, she had not expected there to be more to this affair. Could the matter be far from finished, with the company facing further trials?

“Zheng Haoyuan was just a despicable and shameless villain. Do you think someone like that could orchestrate the Tian Hai Customs incident?”

Li Feng said flatly, “This time’s Tian Hai Customs incident was not Zheng Haoyuan’s doing, but Fu Yanxiong’s.”

“Fu Yanxiong, someone from the Fu family?” Hu Yuanyuan was taken aback.

“Indeed, Fu Yanxiong of the Fu family. Clashing with Zheng Haoyuan was merely the opening act. Our true opponent is Fu Yanxiong.” Li Feng said gravely. Yesterday at the company, before he could tell Hu Yuanyuan about Fu Yanxiong, Xu Qing had met with trouble, so Hu Yuanyuan still did not know there was a Fu Yanxiong behind Zheng Haoyuan.

“I never imagined it was him.” A trace of a smile flickered at Hu Yuanyuan’s lips.

“You know him?” Li Feng was taken aback and looked at Hu Yuanyuan in some surprise. He had no impression of this Fu Yanxiong at all. How did Hu Yuanyuan know him?

“He is someone my mother favours.” Hu Yuanyuan said with a faint smile.

“Your mother-in-law favours?” Li Feng had a bad premonition.

“Yes, my mother wants Fu Yanxiong to be her son-in-law.” Hu Yuanyuan’s gaze on Li Feng revealed a hint of amusement.

“You have no sisters, do you?” Li Feng asked.

“No.”

“Then Fu Yanxiong can never become my mother-in-law’s son-in-law.” Li Feng stepped forward and wrapped Hu Yuanyuan in his arms, saying, “Because you, Hu Yuanyuan, belong solely to me, Li Feng.”

Though he said this, Li Feng’s heart was filled with extreme vigilance. His marriage to Hu Yuanyuan had been arranged by their parents, but his mother-in-law seemed to have a poor impression of him. From his memories, he knew he had suffered quite a few losses at her hands.

Now, with Hu Yuanyuan saying Fu Yanxiong was the son-in-law her mother had chosen for her, he naturally had to be on guard. Even though Hu Yuanyuan was nearly his woman now, he remained vigilant towards this Fu Yanxiong. After all, there was always the chance of an unexpected turn.

“Nonsense, who is yours?” Hu Yuanyuan rolled her eyes at Li Feng and continued, “If Fu Yanxiong wanted that batch of chemical machines, why use so many underhanded methods?”

“Perhaps he has some shady business.” Li Feng’s impression of Fu Yanxiong had never been good to begin with, and now, knowing he was a potential romantic rival, he ranked him as a key enemy in his mind.

Hu Yuanyuan rolled her eyes at Li Feng again, but this time she did not refute him. Just as Li Feng said, Fu Yanxiong had used dishonourable methods, which clearly indicated impure intentions.

As for Fu Yanxiong, Hu Yuanyuan had met him a few times, with no deep impression. She never expected that the next meeting would make them opponents.

“So, next, the company may face strikes from Fu Yanxiong. You must be careful on the company front.” Li Feng continued. Fu Yanxiong was no Zheng Haoyuan, not so easy to deal with.

“Are you not afraid I will sell off your company?” Hu Yuanyuan glanced at Li Feng and asked.

“If you sell the company, then I will…” Li Feng whispered something in Hu Yuanyuan’s ear. Instantly, Hu Yuanyuan’s face flushed crimson, utterly embarrassed.

Forcing down the shame in her heart, Hu Yuanyuan said, “I will not say more to you. I am off to work.” With that, she fled the villa as if escaping.
