Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 223

Li Feng’s gaze was sharp, his blade radiating murderous intent. In an instant, Wild Leopard and Wild Cat were gripped by fear, at a loss for what to do.

Tap, tap, tap…

Li Feng advanced toward them step by step, each footfall seeming to strike their hearts, their faces shifting with every move.

“Li Feng, you…” Wild Leopard tried to steady himself, but the fear flickering in his eyes betrayed him.

“Facing death, what more do you have to say?” Li Feng stared coldly at him.

“Li Feng, don’t get smug. Even if you kill us today, you won’t get off easy.” Wild Leopard said grimly.

“Hahaha, Wild Leopard, head of the Du Clan’s Four Diamonds, and at this moment, you’re making such feeble threats? Besides, even if I don’t get off easy, you won’t be around to see it.” Li Feng sneered, a trace of disdain curling his lips.

He couldn’t understand these people. On the brink of death, they still tried to threaten him. Su Xin and Sun Xipeng were like this, Zheng Haoyuan too, and now Wild Leopard. Did they think such empty threats could harm him?

In Li Feng’s eyes, these threats were the work of idiots.

“Li Feng, killing us won’t be so easy.” Wild Cat pulled out a gun, pointing it coldly at Li Feng. “Your skills are impressive, but can you outrun a bullet?”

“Idiot.” Li Feng spat out two words.

“You…” Wild Cat bristled.

“You have a gun, but don’t I?” Li Feng sneered, drawing a submachine gun from his waist and aiming its icy barrel at Wild Cat. “Don’t you think competing with me in marksmanship is idiotic?”

Wild Cat’s pupils shrank, his face paling. The memory of Li Feng mowing down Du Clan members was vivid. He knew Li Feng spoke the truth—he was a sharpshooter.

“Sharpshooter? I’ve killed sharpshooters before. Zheng Kai was one, and I still killed him.” Wild Cat sneered.

Li Feng’s marksmanship reminded him of Zheng Kai. Killing him had cost much, but unlike then, when Zheng Kai was surrounded, Li Feng’s underestimated gun skills had decimated the Du Clan members meant to overwhelm him. Wild Cat knew that he and Wild Leopard alone couldn’t kill him. But he didn’t need to. His job was to stall until the old master finished Zheng Xiaoyang—then Li Feng would have no escape.

Moreover, he had called for reinforcements. Soon, the Du Clan’s forces would arrive.

“Zheng Kai? You killed him?” Li Feng recalled the Zheng family sharpshooter from the hotel, where he’d nearly suffered a loss. He hadn’t expected him to die at Wild Cat’s hands.

“That’s right. No one who crosses our Du Clan meets a good end. He’s your example.” Wild Cat said warily.

“Hahaha, good, good, Wild Cat. I must say, you’ve done me a favour.” Li Feng laughed.

“What do you mean?” Wild Cat’s face changed. He expected Li Feng to be furious, but instead, he looked excited. Was this an act?

“What do I mean? Even if you hadn’t killed Zheng Kai, I would have. I should thank you. Don’t worry, I’ll leave you an intact corpse so you can reincarnate next life.” Li Feng smiled.

“What?” Wild Leopard and Wild Cat’s faces shifted. Wild Leopard spoke, “Li Feng, at this point, you still won’t admit you’re with the Zheng family?”

“With the Zheng family?” Li Feng burst into laughter, as if he’d heard the greatest joke. After a while, he looked at them. “You thought I was with the Zheng family? So, aside from Zheng Xiaoyang, you’ve killed all the Zhengs? Hahaha, perfect, perfect. With the Zheng family’s temperament, Zheng Xiaoyang will have to fight to the death now. Heaven’s on my side.”

“What are you saying?” Wild Leopard and Wild Cat’s pupils shrank, their faces paling with a bad premonition.

Li Feng stared at them, a cold smile spreading. “I must say, you Du Clan people are impressively stupid. With a simple trick, I played you all. I’ll be honest now. The Zheng family chased me from Tianhai City to kill me. Pity they couldn’t, and I used them as a blade in my hand.”

Pausing, he continued, “Hahaha, if Zheng Xiaoyang hadn’t kept Du Wu occupied, how could I have destroyed the Blood Refining Formation? Zheng Xiaoyang deserves credit for that. Even if Du Wu doesn’t kill him, I will. But for buying me time to destroy the formation, I’ll kindly leave him an intact corpse.”

“Impossible.”

Wild Leopard and Wild Cat staggered back, faces ashen, staring at Li Feng in disbelief. They couldn’t fathom the truth.

The Zheng family wasn’t allied with Li Feng—they were truly after him. This brutal truth was unbearable. The Du Clan had lost countless brothers to kill the Zhengs, thinking they’d outsmarted them, only to realise their plan was foolish.

They didn’t doubt Li Feng was lying—there was no need. But that made it harder to accept.

They had always suspected the Zheng family and Li Feng were acting to sabotage the old master’s plan and the Blood Refining Formation. After Zheng Xiaoyang’s clash with the old master, they were certain they were allies. But now, Li Feng revealed he’d merely used the Zhengs and even thanked them for killing them. The stark contrast was unbearable.

“Nothing’s impossible. It just shows how idiotic you are.” Li Feng sneered at their dazed expressions, a cold glint in his eyes. In a flash, a silver streak shot out.

“Ah!”

A throwing knife struck Wild Cat’s wrist, his gun falling to the ground.

“You…” Wild Cat reacted, staring at Li Feng in shock.

“Raising a gun against me? You never had a chance. Wondering why I didn’t kill you outright?” Li Feng approached, sneering. “Because I want to take your heads with my blade. Aren’t you the Du Clan’s Four Diamonds? Let’s see if your heads are made of diamond.”

“I’ll fight you to the death!” Wild Cat roared, charging at Li Feng.

“Idiot.” Li Feng kicked out.

Bang!

Wild Cat grunted, flying back and crashing heavily to the ground.

“Wild Cat? Hmph, let’s see if you have nine lives like a cat.” Li Feng sneered, slashing out a blade aura toward him.

“Ah…”

With a scream, Wild Cat’s arm was severed by the aura.

“The Four Diamonds—Wild Leopard, Wild Wolf, Wild Fox, Wild Cat. Didn’t expect you to be the weakest. But you’re all beasts, and killing you feels good.” Li Feng sneered.

“Li Feng, if you’ve got the guts, kill me!” Wild Cat clutched his severed arm, roaring in pain.

“Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish. Don’t worry, Du Wu will join you soon.” A sharp glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes as he raised his blade.

Pfft!

With a soft sound, Wild Cat’s head flew off.

“Wild Leopard, you’re next.” After killing Wild Cat, Li Feng turned to Wild Leopard, his eyes brimming with cold killing intent.

“Li… Li Feng…” Wild Leopard licked his dry lips, staring at Li Feng in fear. As the Du Clan’s second strongest, ever since Li Feng severed his arm, a seed of fear had taken root in his heart.

This fear wasn’t just of Li Feng’s strength but also his cunning. He’d played them all effortlessly.

Seeing his brothers fall one by one, Wild Leopard felt on the verge of collapse.

“What, got any last words?” Li Feng sneered.

“I…” Wild Leopard tried to speak, but Li Feng’s icy gaze was like a bucket of cold water, chilling his heart.

Wild Leopard had been fearless because of Du Wu’s backing, believing him invincible. But now, with Wild Wolf and Wild Cat dead and Du Wu unable to protect him, fear and dread consumed him. He didn’t want to die. At just over forty, he had a long life ahead.

Li Feng’s lips curled into a cold smile. Wild Leopard was a disappointment. Wild Wolf and Wild Cat had faced death bravely, but the head of the Four Diamonds was a coward.

Tap, tap, tap…

Footsteps approached. Wild Leopard turned to see waves of Du Clan members arriving—the reinforcements Wild Cat had called.

“Li Feng, the Du Clan’s reinforcements are here. You can’t kill me.” Wild Leopard was overjoyed, running toward them without a second thought.

“Idiot.” Li Feng sneered, his figure flashing to block Wild Leopard’s path. “Wild Leopard, if you fought me, I might’ve respected you. But now, you’re just a coward.”

“You…” Wild Leopard glared, his eyes murderous enough to kill Li Feng a thousand times over.

“I said you’d die today. You think that rabble can save you? Will I give you the chance? Hmph, I’ll kill you now.” Li Feng snorted, slowly raising his blade.

“Ah, Li Feng, I’ll fight you!” Wild Leopard roared in fury, his true energy surging, pouring into his arm. Gripping his machete, he stomped the ground, charging at Li Feng.

“Go to hell!”

In that moment, under the threat of death, Wild Leopard unleashed his peak strength. His ferocious slash carried unmatched momentum, as if to cleave everything apart.

Li Feng’s eyes flickered, his expression calm as he watched the incoming strike. As it descended, he shifted slightly, the blade grazing past his ear.

Crack!

The slash struck the ground, splitting it with a massive fissure.

At that moment, Li Feng clenched his fist. Dodging Wild Leopard’s wild strike, he tapped the ground, appearing behind him like a phantom. His fist, infused with true energy, slammed into Wild Leopard’s back.

Bang!

A muffled thud. Wild Leopard’s sneer froze, his eyes wide with horror. Blood sprayed from his mouth, mixed with fragments of shattered organs.

“Li Feng, you… you’re ruthless…”

“Ruthless?”

Li Feng smirked dismissively, not sparing Wild Leopard’s body a glance. His gaze fell on Zheng Xiaoyang and Du Wu in the distance, a cold smile curling his lips. “Zheng Xiaoyang, Du Wu, you’re next.”
