The old man, enraged by Liu Shichao’s words, waved his hand and slapped him.
Slap!
Liu Shichao was sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground.
“Liu Shichao, I’m only calling you Young Master Liu out of respect for the Liu family. Don’t push your luck. Do you think a spoiled brat like you can threaten me? Believe it or not, I’ll kill you right now,” the old man said, glaring coldly at Liu Shichao.
“Kill me? Haha, old man, go ahead and try,” Liu Shichao sneered. From the moment the old man made him call Zhong Shuhui, he knew the old man’s goal was to target Li Feng.
But was Li Feng so easy to deal with? Even if he was, would Liu Shichao help this old man against Li Feng? That was impossible. His life was in Li Feng’s hands. Going against him would be suicide.
If he didn’t help, he’d die. If he helped, he’d die. He might as well die now.
Others might not know Li Feng’s methods, but he did. Falling into Li Feng’s hands was a fate worse than death.
“You think I don’t dare?” The old man’s gaze grew colder, surprised by Liu Shichao’s reaction. According to his intelligence, Liu Shichao was a cowardly, self-indulgent playboy. This defiance was unexpected. Could the intelligence be wrong?
But whether Liu Shichao matched the intelligence or not, in the old man’s view, if he didn’t want to die, he had no choice but to comply.
“Hmph, go ahead and kill me,” Liu Shichao said coldly, staring at the old man. He was terrified of death, but if death was inevitable either way, there was nothing to fear.
“Liu Shichao, don’t you want to be the Liu family’s heir? If you cooperate, I can make that happen,” the old man said gravely. He hadn’t expected Liu Shichao to be so stubborn at this moment, but he couldn’t kill him now. He had set up an elaborate plan, and killing Liu Shichao would ruin it. He didn’t have time to start over.
“You, an old man who won’t even reveal his identity, want to help me become the Liu family’s heir? Why should I trust you?” Liu Shichao sneered. If the old man had attacked, he might have begged for mercy, but it was clear the old man didn’t want to kill him. Though a playboy, Liu Shichao wasn’t a fool. Knowing the old man needed him, he grew bold.
“Hmph, you have no choice,” the old man snorted, glaring at Liu Shichao. “You think you can act fearless because I won’t kill you? The business association meeting in Tianhai City is the day after tomorrow. If I keep you locked up here and you don’t show up, what will your father, Liu Dongjian, think of you? Do you think you’ll still have a chance to be the Liu family’s heir? Will your brother, Liu Shijie, let you off?”
Liu Shichao’s expression changed. “What do you want?”
“I told you, just cooperate,” the old man said with a smile.
“Deal with Zhong Shuhui?” Liu Shichao asked tentatively.
“No, that’s just the first step,” the old man replied.
Liu Shichao took a deep breath. “I can cooperate, but I have one condition.”
“You’re in no position to negotiate,” the old man said coldly.
“Then we’ll both go down,” Liu Shichao sneered. The Liu family heirship was important, but his life was more so.
“You…” The old man, never having been threatened like this, was livid, itching to slap Liu Shichao again.
“Fine, I’ll agree to one condition,” the old man said, suppressing his anger. “What’s your condition?”
A cold glint flashed in Liu Shichao’s eyes. “I want you to kill someone.”
—
Qin Keqing, pulling a suitcase, walked toward the crew-only passage at the airport. Her white-and-blue scarf and navy-blue flight attendant uniform made her strikingly beautiful. With a model-like figure, she looked even more captivating in her uniform.
Along the way, Qin Keqing’s stunning figure, neat hairstyle, elegant blue beret, refined smile, and the intellectual allure of a flight attendant drew many eyes.
“My luck’s pretty good,” Li Feng said, spotting Qin Keqing as he entered the airport with Bu Meng, a spark of joy in his heart.
“Young Master Feng, what luck?” Bu Meng asked, puzzled.
“You wouldn’t understand,” Li Feng said, walking toward Qin Keqing. Since he’d run into her again, he had to at least say hello.
As he approached, his eyes roamed over her curvaceous figure, her slender legs wrapped in black stockings, and her glossy high heels, making her even more enchanting.
“Miss Qin, what a coincidence. I didn’t expect to meet you here,” Li Feng said as Qin Keqing entered the crew passage.
Her expression changed at the sound of his voice. “Li Feng, what are you doing here?” she asked, turning to see him, disbelief on her face.
“Why can’t I be here? Miss Qin, I didn’t expect to run into you again on my way back to Tianhai City. We must be fated,” Li Feng said with a smile.
“Fated with you?” Qin Keqing glared at him, annoyed.
“Heh,” Li Feng chuckled. “I ran into you when I came to Yongzhou, and now again on my way back. If that’s not fate, what is?”
“Li Feng, I don’t have time to chat. I have to work,” Qin Keqing said, unwilling to continue. She didn’t want her colleagues to overhear and misunderstand.
“Work? That’s great, Miss Qin. I’ll get to enjoy your service soon,” Li Feng said, eyeing her lips with a suggestive tone.
“You…” Qin Keqing shot him a glare, reminded of the wicked look in his eyes that day at Tian Shang Ren Jian.
Li Feng smirked, turning to leave with Bu Meng.
“Young Master Feng, who’s this Miss Qin?” Bu Meng asked.
“My woman,” Li Feng said casually. Even if Qin Keqing didn’t admit it, in his eyes, she was his.
Bu Meng nodded, understanding. No wonder Li Feng’s eyes had been so eager. He had to admire his boss’s taste—Qin Keqing was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.
After checking in, Li Feng and Bu Meng were led to first class by a flight attendant.
The first-class cabin featured reclining bed-chairs, ample space, gourmet meals designed by chefs, and fine wines, making passengers feel as comfortable as at home.
Li Feng lounged in his seat, scanning the cabin for Qin Keqing but was disappointed to find she wasn’t among the first-class attendants.
He beckoned to a flight attendant. “Sir, how can I help you?” she asked with a smile.
“Is there a flight attendant named Qin Keqing on this flight?” Li Feng asked.
“Do you mean our chief purser?” the attendant asked.
“Chief purser? Qin Keqing’s already a chief purser?” Li Feng was surprised but not entirely shocked.
“Yes,” the attendant nodded.
“Can you call her over?” Li Feng asked.
“Please wait a moment, sir,” the attendant said, hurrying off.
Soon, Qin Keqing appeared, led by the attendant.
“Miss Qin…” Li Feng smiled at her.
“What do you need, sir?” Qin Keqing asked, a hint of helplessness in her eyes. When the attendant had come for her, she’d guessed it was Li Feng. As chief purser, she was still a flight attendant, obligated to ensure passenger satisfaction, so she couldn’t refuse.
“Nothing,” Li Feng said, shaking his head. “I just wanted to see you. I must say, you look stunning in that uniform.”
“Li Feng, what do you want?” Qin Keqing asked, dismissing the other attendant and lowering her voice.
“What do you think?” Li Feng said with a smile.
“Li Feng, I’m not interested in playing emotional games with a rich kid like you. What happened last time was my fault, but I had no choice,” Qin Keqing said with a bitter smile. She’d tried to avoid him, but it seemed she couldn’t escape.
“No choice? What do you mean?” Li Feng looked at her, confused.
With no one else nearby, Qin Keqing whispered, “Li Feng, that day at Tian Shang Ren Jian, I was forced to do it. I’m sorry, and I beg you to let me go. Stop bothering me.”
“Forced? Was it Sun Xipeng who forced you that day?” Li Feng asked gravely. That day at Tian Shang Ren Jian, he’d been inexplicably caught up, arrested, and ended up in the papers, ruining his reputation. It was one reason he was now entangled with Qin Keqing.
“Sun Xipeng?” Qin Keqing shook her head. “It wasn’t him.”
“Not Sun Xipeng?” Li Feng was stunned. He’d always thought Sun Xipeng was behind it, but now Qin Keqing was saying otherwise, leaving him confused. If not Sun Xipeng, who was targeting him?
“No, it had nothing to do with Sun Xipeng. I just used his name,” Qin Keqing nodded.
“Then tell me who made you do it and why,” Li Feng asked, his voice low and serious.
