Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 244

“I…”

Fu Yanxiong wanted to say he had a way, but facing Li Feng, he swallowed the rest of his words.

He did have a plan, but he couldn’t reveal it in front of Li Feng. If he were to say anything, it would only be to Hu Yuanyuan alone.

“Looks like Mr. Fu doesn’t have a solution either,” Li Feng said, feigning disappointment. “I heard you suggest changing Fengyuan Group to Yuanyuan Group, and I thought you had a way to convince our vice president. Turns out it was just talk. Aren’t you letting President Hu down?”

Seeing Fu Yanxiong’s sour expression, Li Feng continued, “Mr. Fu, you didn’t hear from our employees that President Hu dislikes the name Fengyuan Group and then say that to impress her, did you?”

“Nonsense!” Li Feng’s words hit too close to home, making Fu Yanxiong’s face change as he hurriedly said, “Who do you think I am? I wouldn’t do something like that.”

He turned to Hu Yuanyuan, saying, “Hu Yuanyuan, I…”

“Heh, Mr. Fu, no need for so many explanations. We’re all adults here,” Li Feng interrupted with a smile. “I’m sure President Hu understands your intentions. But, Mr. Fu, you got one thing wrong.”

“What’s that?” Fu Yanxiong didn’t want to engage, but to maintain his gentlemanly image in front of Hu Yuanyuan, he responded despite his growing irritation.

“You said changing Fengyuan Group to Yuanyuan Group is the right move,” Li Feng said calmly.

“Why not? Isn’t Fengyuan Group built single-handedly by Hu Yuanyuan? Yuanyuan Group would be more fitting,” Fu Yanxiong said coldly, glaring at Li Feng. “Besides, big decisions like this aren’t for a small employee like you to meddle in.”

“When the nation prospers or falls, every citizen has a duty. When the company prospers or falls, every employee has a responsibility. Haven’t you heard that saying, Mr. Fu?” Li Feng smiled, but a cold glint flickered in his eyes if one looked closely.

“Ridiculous.”

“Ridiculous? Does a company have to be named after someone?” Li Feng chuckled, looking at Fu Yanxiong. “By the way, Mr. Fu, do you have your own company?”

Seeing Fu Yanxiong stay silent, Li Feng pressed on, “Mr. Fu, you look distinguished. Surely you have your own company. I thought you were some big shot, but are you just a playboy like our vice president?”

“Who says I don’t have a company?” Fu Yanxiong glared coldly at Li Feng. “You’re just a lowly employee. If it weren’t for President Hu being here, you wouldn’t even get the chance to speak to me.”

“Wow, Mr. Fu is that impressive?” Li Feng exclaimed exaggeratedly, then rubbed his head as if thinking. “Yanxiong Group? Yanxiong Enterprises? Yanxiong Corporation? Never heard of them. Could your company be obscure? No way, someone as grand as you wouldn’t let their company stay unknown.”

Suddenly, he snapped his fingers. “Oh, I remember! In Japan, there’s a Dog Bear Group. Mr. Fu, is that your company? Dog Bear, Yanxiong—close enough. Why didn’t you say so? You made me think so hard.”

“What did you say?” Fu Yanxiong’s eyes flashed with a chilling killing intent.

“Mr. Fu, don’t get worked up. I know you think Yanxiong isn’t catchy and want to change it to Dog Bear. It’s not uncommon these days. Parents can’t always pick names we love. But Fu Dog Bear—it’s got a nice ring to it,” Li Feng said with a grin.

“You’re courting death!” Fu Yanxiong exploded, his eyes blazing with cold fury. Without thinking, he grabbed a teacup from the table and hurled it at Li Feng.

Li Feng caught it effortlessly, looking at Fu Yanxiong coldly. “Mr. Fu, this is Fengyuan Group, not your Dog Bear Group. Throw things around, and I won’t be polite.”

“Hmph, you little punk, you think I’m scared of you?” Fu Yanxiong stood, advancing toward Li Feng.

“Mr. Fu, don’t do anything rash. President Hu is right here,” Li Feng said quickly.

“Hmph.”

Fu Yanxiong snorted, turning to Hu Yuanyuan. “Hu Yuanyuan, is this your company? A place where anyone can act so brazenly?”

He was growing dissatisfied with her. As the head of Fengyuan Group, how could she tolerate an employee acting so recklessly?

“Have you had enough?” Hu Yuanyuan said sharply to Li Feng. “Don’t you know Mr. Fu is our guest?”

Li Feng mentally gave her a thumbs-up. Her words showed she wasn’t ready to reveal his identity, letting him continue humiliating Fu Yanxiong.

Suggesting to rename Fengyuan Group to Yuanyuan Group revealed Fu Yanxiong’s sinister intentions. Li Feng wasn’t about to let him off easily.

Not to mention, he and Fu Yanxiong had irreconcilable grudges.

Leaving aside the Tianguan and Zheng Haoyuan incidents, Li Feng was almost certain the attempt on his life by Zheng Xiaoyang was linked to Fu Yanxiong. Even if Zheng Xiaoyang wasn’t directly sent by him, it stemmed from Zheng Haoyuan’s incident, making Fu Yanxiong the root cause.

Li Feng had planned to settle the score at the business networking event tomorrow night, but running into Fu Yanxiong here, he wouldn’t miss the chance.

Plus, Fu Yanxiong was a potential romantic rival.

When he entered, Li Feng had been thinking about how to deal with him—beat him up or kill him?

He shook his head. Fu Yanxiong’s status made those options impractical. Realizing Fu Yanxiong didn’t recognize him, Li Feng devised a plan.

The first step was underway, and with Hu Yuanyuan’s cooperation, the rest would be easier.

“Mr. Fu is here for important business, of course,” Hu Yuanyuan said, turning to Fu Yanxiong. “Isn’t that right?”

“Of course. Why else would I be here?” Fu Yanxiong’s gaze fell on Li Feng. “But, President Hu, please have this person leave. Our discussion isn’t for a low-level employee like him to hear.”

“Fu Dog Bear—oh, sorry, Mr. Fu, you’re wrong again,” Li Feng said with a smile, standing up. “You don’t know my position here. At Fengyuan Group, there’s nothing I can’t know.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Fu Yanxiong scoffed. “Are you the general manager or something?”

“General manager? That’s nothing,” Li Feng said, standing with a smile. “Even the general manager answers to me. Only President Hu can manage me. Even Vice President Li Feng doesn’t faze me. If you make me leave, President Hu will tell me what you said and let me decide.”

“I didn’t know Fengyuan Group had someone like you,” Fu Yanxiong sneered. He’d thoroughly investigated the company before coming and had files on all its executives. This man wasn’t one, yet he spoke so arrogantly, as if he controlled the entire company.

“That’s your ignorance,” Li Feng said with a cold laugh.

“Then let’s hear who you are,” Fu Yanxiong said coldly. Without this man’s interference, he might have swayed Hu Yuanyuan by now. For someone ruining his plans, he wouldn’t be merciful. He was already planning to have him beaten or even make him disappear from Tianhai City after leaving.

“Want to know who I am?” Li Feng said, walking around the desk to stand behind Hu Yuanyuan, placing his hands on her shoulders and grinning at Fu Yanxiong. “I’m President Hu’s closest secretary.”

“Let go!” Fu Yanxiong roared, eyes blazing with fury at seeing Li Feng’s hands on Hu Yuanyuan. In his mind, she was his future woman, and he wouldn’t tolerate another man touching her.

“Let go? What’s it to you, Mr. Fu?” Li Feng feigned surprise, then leaned down to Hu Yuanyuan. “President Hu, is there something wrong with this Mr. Fu? Even Li Feng can’t control our relationship. What right does he have?”

Under the desk, Hu Yuanyuan pinched Li Feng’s leg hard, as if scolding him.

Fu Yanxiong was livid, wanting to chop off Li Feng’s hands. Barely restraining himself, he glared at Li Feng. “Don’t you know you’re courting death?”

“Courting death?” Li Feng laughed as if hearing the funniest thing. Looking at Fu Yanxiong like he was an idiot, he said, “President Hu and I are mutually in love. How is that courting death? Besides, President Hu has no objections. What’s your problem, Fu Yanxiong?”

Li Feng sneered inwardly. Fu Yanxiong’s reaction confirmed his lingering intentions toward Hu Yuanyuan. For that alone, Li Feng was determined to thoroughly humiliate him today.

“What’s Hu Yuanyuan’s status, and what’s yours? You think you’re worthy of her?” Fu Yanxiong saw Li Feng’s hands on her shoulders, and with no objection from her, he cursed her inwardly as shameless. He’d thought her noble, but she was entangled with a subordinate.

Yet, amid his anger, he saw an opportunity.
