One arm?
Fu Yanxiong’s pupils constricted, his face darkening.
He hadn’t expected Li Feng to be so ruthless, demanding one of his arms. Other options he might have considered, but losing an arm? That was unthinkable.
“Fu Dog-Bear, leaving an arm behind is your only choice now,” Li Feng said coldly, staring at him. “This is the price you pay for what you’ve done.”
“Li Feng, are you declaring war on the Fu family?” Fu Yanxiong glared back, his voice icy. He hadn’t anticipated Li Feng’s demands would escalate so harshly, fueling his rage.
“Declaring war?” Li Feng sneered, his eyes filled with disdain. “Can you, Fu Dog-Bear, represent the Fu family? Are you the Fu family head or its future heir? If I’m not mistaken, you’re just the third of the Fu family’s Five Heroes, nothing more. You’re not even the leader among them. What gives you the right to speak for the Fu family?”
“Besides, I never said I was declaring war on the Fu family. I’m only declaring war on you, Fu Dog-Bear,” Li Feng continued with a cold laugh. “You want those chemical machines? Let me tell you, I’d rather sell them as scrap than give them to you. Give up that dream.”
Fu Yanxiong’s expression grew colder. “Li Feng, you’re arrogant, but let me warn you—your arrogance might bring you a fatal disaster.”
“Still trying to threaten me at this point?” Li Feng sneered.
“Li Feng, your skills may be better than mine, but in Tianhai City, there are plenty who can kill you. If you dare touch a hair on my head, I guarantee you’ll die miserably,” Fu Yanxiong retorted.
“Is that so?” Li Feng sneered, his figure flashing as he appeared before Fu Yanxiong.
A glint of silver passed.
“Ah, you…” Fu Yanxiong stared furiously at Li Feng as his hair fell to the ground. If looks could kill, Li Feng would’ve been devoured alive.
“I’ve touched thousands of your hairs. What can you do about it?” Li Feng said, a mocking smile in his eyes as he looked at the now-bald Fu Yanxiong. “You should thank me, Fu Dog-Bear. I gave you a free haircut.”
“Li Feng, I’ll kill you!” Fu Yanxiong roared, charging at him.
Li Feng sneered, lifting his leg for a swift kick.
Bang!
Fu Yanxiong was sent crashing to the ground. Li Feng stepped forward, planting a foot on his chest, looking down coldly. “Want to kill me? Fu Yanxiong, use your brain. Are you my match right now?”
“Let me go! Release me!” Fu Yanxiong struggled, but Li Feng’s foot was like a mountain, pinning him down.
Li Feng looked down with a cold smile. “Fu Dog-Bear, you think I’d let you go? Hmph, I gave you three choices, and you didn’t cherish any of them. Don’t blame me for being merciless.”
Slap!
Li Feng delivered a fierce slap to Fu Yanxiong’s face. “This is for sending Inspector Xu to frame Fengyuan Group for smuggling.”
Slap!
“This is for sending Zheng Haoyuan to target Yuanyuan and the others.”
Slap!
“This is for threatening Yuanyuan earlier.”
Slap!
“This is because I just don’t like you.”
Slap!
“And this…”
Slap!
Looking at Fu Yanxiong, whose face was now swollen like a pig’s, Li Feng rubbed his wrist. “Enough for today. Get lost.” With that, he kicked Fu Yanxiong’s nearly 200-pound body toward the door.
Fu Yanxiong scrambled to his feet, glaring at Li Feng with venom in his eyes. “Li Feng, I’ll make you pay tenfold for today.” He opened the door and stormed out.
Li Feng sneered. He wasn’t one to fear threats.
“Li Feng, we’ve thoroughly offended him today,” Hu Yuanyuan said, approaching him.
“Offended? He deserved it,” Li Feng replied, pulling her into his arms by the waist. “That despicable scum dared to threaten you. If we weren’t in Fengyuan Group, I’d have killed him.”
“You’re one to talk. You’re the one who misled him,” Hu Yuanyuan said, rolling her eyes. If she weren’t involved, she might’ve believed Li Feng’s act.
“If he weren’t so despicable, how could he have been misled? But it’s good—we’ve seen his true face,” Li Feng said calmly.
“But he’s still from the Fu family,” Hu Yuanyuan said, worried. Just as Fu Yanxiong couldn’t represent the Fu family, Li Feng couldn’t represent the Li family. Humiliating Fu Yanxiong like this would surely provoke his wrath and retaliation.
“The Fu family? So what?” Li Feng’s eyes glinted coldly. Once he reached the Xiantian realm, he wouldn’t care about a mere Fu family. Besides, it wasn’t certain the Fu family’s Xiantian experts would get involved. As long as they didn’t, he was confident he could handle it.
“Besides, Fu Yanxiong is no saint,” Li Feng said, thinking of Zheng Xiaoyang. He had almost asked Fu Yanxiong if Zheng Xiaoyang’s attempt to kill him was connected, but he held back. Investigating Zheng Xiaoyang’s death would be difficult to trace to him in the short term. Asking now would only expose the connection, and with his current strength, he wasn’t ready to stir up more trouble.
“Indeed, Fu Yanxiong went too far this time. I never thought he was like this,” Hu Yuanyuan said, a cold glint in her eyes.
“His character doesn’t matter. What matters is finding out why he’s so desperate for those chemical machines,” Li Feng said gravely.
“You’re right. Fu Yanxiong’s scheming for those machines can’t be for a simple reason,” Hu Yuanyuan nodded.
“I feel he’s planning something big behind the scenes. With those machines in our hands, we have the upper hand,” Li Feng said.
“But if Fu Yanxiong really wants them, he could buy them from France. Why fixate on ours?” Hu Yuanyuan asked, puzzled.
“Maybe he doesn’t want to go the long way, or maybe he doesn’t have time. It took months for Sun Xipeng to order and deliver those machines to Tianhai City,” Li Feng said thoughtfully.
“Time? If it’s about time, Fu Yanxiong will make a move soon. We need to keep a close eye on those machines,” Hu Yuanyuan said after a moment’s thought.
“Let him come. I’ll deal with it. Next time, I won’t let Fu Yanxiong off so easily,” Li Feng said, a cold glint in his eyes.
“By the way, when did you get back?” Hu Yuanyuan asked.
“Today. I came to see you as soon as I arrived, to check if my darling missed me,” Li Feng said with a cheeky grin. “So, babe, did you miss me?”
“Ugh, who missed you?” Hu Yuanyuan blushed, playfully hitting him.
“Really didn’t miss me?” Li Feng turned her around, pulling her close by the waist, pressing her curves against him.
“No,” Hu Yuanyuan said, lowering her head, avoiding his gaze, her heart racing in his embrace.
“Fine, I missed you so much, and you didn’t miss me? Let’s see how I punish you,” Li Feng teased, leaning down to kiss her deeply.
“Mmph…”
Hu Yuanyuan was startled but soon melted into the kiss, responding instinctively.
After a long kiss, Li Feng released her lips, licking his own with a satisfied grin. “So sweet. I want more.”
Hu Yuanyuan rolled her eyes, pushing him away gently. “Don’t push your luck. Look where we are.”
“Right, right, let’s continue at home,” Li Feng said quickly.
Hu Yuanyuan glared at him. “Li Feng, you’re back just in time. Tomorrow’s the business networking event. Don’t forget to come with me.”
Li Feng rarely handled company matters, and she worried he’d skip it.
“The business networking event? Even if you didn’t mention it, I wouldn’t miss it,” Li Feng said, his playful demeanor fading. “Yuanyuan, this event isn’t good news for our company. It might even be a disaster.”
“What do you mean?” Hu Yuanyuan’s expression grew serious. She knew Li Feng wouldn’t say this without reason.
Li Feng shared the information and suspicions he had. “This networking event isn’t just for Tianhai City’s top hundred companies. The special guests are different from previous years. Not to mention others, we’ll see Fu Yanxiong there tomorrow night.”
Hu Yuanyuan was stunned. She hadn’t expected such undercurrents at the event. She’d thought it would elevate Fengyuan Group, but now it seemed like wishful thinking.
“Should we still go?” Hu Yuanyuan hesitated, not wanting her hard-built company to be at others’ mercy.
“Go? Of course we’re going,” Li Feng said, a sharp glint in his eyes. “This event may be a disaster, but disasters also bring opportunities. It might be the chance for Fengyuan Group to soar.”
“But…” Hu Yuanyuan was still worried.
“Yuanyuan, you’re Tianhai City’s iron lady. Where’s your confidence? Whatever comes, we’ll handle it,” Li Feng said with a smile, his eyes gleaming. “Besides, skipping the event isn’t necessarily good for us. And I want to see what’s behind this networking event and what forces back Tianhai City’s four major families.”
