Liu Shijie’s expression darkened, his gaze cold as he stared at Li Feng. He hadn’t expected Li Feng to be so brazen, showing him such disrespect. Even Song Zhiyuan and Zhu Yuanyang wouldn’t speak to him this way. How dare Li Feng?
People called Li Feng a nobody. Was he not just a nobody but also a fool? Did he think being the young master of the Li family, one of the eight top families, gave him the right to act recklessly?
A scornful sneer flashed in Liu Shijie’s eyes. Li Feng was challenging the authority of Tianhai City’s four major families. If he didn’t teach him a lesson, where would their face be?
“Guards, escort Li Feng out,” Liu Shijie said coldly, glaring at Li Feng.
Soon, two security guards from the Imperial Hotel approached.
“Mr. Li, please.”
Seeing this, everyone turned to watch Li Feng, curious about his next move. Zhu Yuanyang, in particular, smirked coldly.
Li Feng had been so arrogant, and she longed to see him taught a harsh lesson. But this was the Imperial Hotel, the venue of the Tianhai City Business Association. Even she didn’t dare cause a scene here.
Now, seeing Li Feng offend Liu Shijie, she couldn’t wait for him to be thrown out. If Li Feng was expelled from the Imperial Hotel, his reputation would be ruined. Already known as a nobody, he’d now be labeled a troublemaker too.
Song Zhiyuan’s expression grew serious. Humiliating Xu Shaohua and offending Zhu Yuanyang was something he was happy to see, but crossing Liu Shijie was, in his view, not worth it. The Liu family, where Liu Shijie belonged, was a host of the Business Association, backed by the four major families of Tianhai City and a mysterious force. Offending them would make it nearly impossible to operate in Tianhai City.
Was Li Feng impulsive? Unintentional? Or deliberate?
Questions swirled in Song Zhiyuan’s mind. If this were the old Li Feng, he wouldn’t have entertained such thoughts. But he knew the current Li Feng was no nobody. According to Uncle Ning’s assessment, Li Feng was a formidable figure.
Such a person wouldn’t act recklessly, so Song Zhiyuan suspected Li Feng had a purpose.
Hu Yuanyuan was equally puzzled. If Li Feng were just causing trouble and didn’t want to attend the Business Association, he wouldn’t have gone to such lengths. Though Han Wei had started the conflict, everything that followed seemed like Li Feng deliberately stirring things up. That’s why she was confused.
But Hu Yuanyuan stayed silent, trusting Li Feng would handle it.
“Shut up!” A cold snort rang out. Everyone turned to see Liu Shichao approaching from the other side. He walked up to the two security guards and slapped them both.
“You two have some guts, trying to throw out Young Master Feng?” Liu Shichao sneered, then approached Li Feng with a beaming smile. “Young Master Feng, sorry about this. Don’t stoop to their level. They don’t know who you are.”
“For Young Master Liu’s sake, I’ll let them off this time,” Li Feng said, a glint in his eyes.
He’d noticed Liu Shichao lurking earlier, thinking he wouldn’t dare show himself. But his appearance now made Li Feng see him in a new light.
Still, it didn’t lessen the killing intent in Li Feng’s heart. He wouldn’t go easy on those who betrayed him.
“Thank Young Master Feng!” Liu Shichao snorted at the guards.
The two guards glanced between Liu Shichao and Liu Shijie, unsure what to do.
“Big brother, what are you doing?” Liu Shijie roared, furious. He hadn’t expected Liu Shichao to interfere at this moment. If it weren’t a public setting, he might’ve slapped him.
He had no fondness for his older brother, a domineering, playboy who’d disgraced the Liu family.
“Second brother, don’t you know Young Master Feng is an honored guest of this Business Association? You’re making a mistake,” Liu Shichao said to Liu Shijie, his tone earnest.
“Him? An honored guest?” Liu Shijie sneered. He knew Liu Shichao had been cozying up to Li Feng recently, calling him a crony. Now, he was likely stepping in for his friend.
“Of course. Young Master Feng is the vice president of Fengyuan Group, an honored guest of this Business Association,” Liu Shichao nodded without hesitation.
“The representative of Fengyuan Group is President Hu. Li Feng, this nobody, must’ve sneaked into the Imperial Hotel. The Liu family didn’t invite him,” Liu Shijie sneered.
“Young Master Liu, you’re mistaken. While Li Feng is the vice president of Fengyuan Group, he’s also its chairman, with absolute decision-making power. I’m just accompanying him today,” Hu Yuanyuan said.
Liu Shijie’s expression shifted, his gaze falling on Hu Yuanyuan with confusion. Why was she defending Li Feng? He didn’t believe a nobody like Li Feng had decision-making power at Fengyuan Group.
At the same time, Liu Shijie felt a surge of anger. Li Feng disrespected him, Liu Shichao disrespected him, and now Hu Yuanyuan was doing the same. Did they think they had him cornered?
With a cold snort, Liu Shijie said, “Fengyuan Group? What kind of company is that? Are they even qualified for the Business Association? There must be a mistake. President Hu, Li Feng, it’s time for you to leave. The Imperial Hotel doesn’t welcome you.”
Hu Yuanyuan’s expression changed.
“Haha, so they sneaked in to cause trouble,” Zhu Yuanyang sneered, her gaze on Li Feng. “Li Feng, be careful when you leave the Imperial Hotel. Don’t get hit by a car.”
“Thanks for the warning, Miss Pig. Tianhai City is far from Jinling. Be careful not to fall into the Yangtze River on your way back,” Li Feng replied with a smile, unfazed. He knew he’d thoroughly offended her, and with her personality, she’d likely want him dead. But he didn’t care. Tianhai City was Zhu family territory, and to grow here, conflict with them was inevitable. Early or late, it made no difference to him.
Zhu Yuanyang’s expression darkened, her gaze icy.
Ignoring her, Li Feng stepped up to Liu Shijie, staring coldly. “Liu Number Two, what did you just say? Say it again if you dare.”
“I said you’re not qualified to be at the Imperial Hotel or the Business Association,” Liu Shijie sneered. “What, Li Feng, you think you can touch me?”
“Touch you? Liu Shijie, you underestimate me. Trash like you isn’t worth my hands,” Li Feng scoffed. “You want me to leave? Fine, I’ll go. But don’t regret it.”
“Regret?” Liu Shijie smirked dismissively.
Li Feng gave him a strange smile, one that sent a shiver of unease through Liu Shijie.
Turning to Hu Yuanyuan, Li Feng said, “Yuanyuan, let’s go. This Business Association isn’t worth attending.”
Hu Yuanyuan was stunned, unsure of Li Feng’s intentions. Was he really leaving? But seeing him wink at her, she nodded quickly.
“Young Master Liu, do you think I’m qualified for the Business Association?” Song Zhiyuan suddenly asked.
“Young Master Song, if you’re not qualified, who is?” Liu Shijie replied, caught off guard.
“Is that so? But if even Young Master Feng isn’t qualified, I don’t think I, Song Zhiyuan, am either. Farewell,” Song Zhiyuan said, not waiting for a response. He walked to Li Feng’s side. “Young Master Feng, how about we find a place to have a good drink tonight?”
“Sure,” Li Feng nodded, taking Hu Yuanyuan’s hand and heading out.
Song Zhiyuan quickly followed.
Liu Shijie was dumbfounded. Li Feng’s participation didn’t matter much to him, but Song Zhiyuan was different—he represented the Song family. His absence would be hard to explain.
“Young Master Song, Li Feng’s just a nobody…” Liu Shijie stepped forward.
“Shut up. Young Master Feng is my good friend. Insult him again, and I’ll ruin you,” Song Zhiyuan turned, glaring coldly at Liu Shijie. “Liu Shijie, you’re just the second son of the Liu family, yet you dare raise your voice at Young Master Feng. You don’t even know how to spell ‘death.’”
Liu Shijie froze. Song Zhiyuan called Li Feng a friend? That was unthinkable. Even more shocking, he was turning against him for Li Feng.
“Young Master Feng, you can’t leave!” Liu Shichao hurriedly blocked Li Feng. “Liu Shijie’s ignorant. Don’t stoop to his level. My father wants to meet you today.”
“What?” Liu Shijie’s face changed. Liu Dongjian wanted to meet Li Feng? Why didn’t he know?
“Big brother, why would Father meet him?” Liu Shijie asked Liu Shichao.
“Second brother, if you don’t believe me, ask Father yourself,” Liu Shichao said coldly.
“Impossible,” Liu Shijie said, incredulous.
“I can confirm Liu Shichao’s telling the truth,” a young man stepped out from the crowd, looking at Liu Shijie. “If I were you, I’d ask Young Master Feng to stay. If your father blames you, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Seeing this young man, Liu Shijie’s expression shifted completely. If he had doubts about Liu Shichao’s words, this young man’s statement erased them.
In an instant, Liu Shijie’s face turned grim.
