Li Feng sneered, slightly raising his left foot before swiftly kicking out.
Bang!
Before Ma Xiaoyong’s fist could land, Li Feng’s foot struck first, hitting him in the abdomen. Ma Xiaoyong let out a muffled groan, doubling over in pain, clutching his stomach.
“Damn it, I’ll kill you!” Having suffered a blow, Ma Xiaoyong was furious, his face dark with rage.
True energy surged within him, and a murderous aura radiated from his body.
Li Feng’s eyes narrowed, a flash of surprise crossing them. Ma Xiaoyong’s displayed strength far surpassed Fu Yanxiong’s, no wonder he was so arrogant.
Just as Ma Xiaoyong was about to strike with a ferocious expression, a cool voice rang out, “Stop.”
Ma Xiaoyong turned sharply, glaring at Qin Feng. “Qin Feng, you’re meddling in my affairs?”
“Ma Xiaoyong, if you don’t want to be thrown out of the Empire Hotel, go ahead and try,” Qin Feng said calmly.
“Who’d dare throw me out?” Ma Xiaoyong retorted coldly.
“Don’t believe me? Test it,” Qin Feng said, his eyes filled with disdain. Ma Xiaoyong still thought Li Feng was someone to be bullied, unaware that Qin Feng’s intervention was actually saving him.
Li Feng was a ruthless killer. Just hours ago, he had slain over a hundred people in Tianhai City. No matter how capable Ma Xiaoyong was, he couldn’t compare.
Moreover, Qin Feng had a faint suspicion that the four major families of Tianhai City might target Li Feng at this business networking event. They wouldn’t let him leave before that. If Ma Xiaoyong fought Li Feng, he’d be the one expelled.
Though Ma Xiaoyong’s fate didn’t concern Qin Feng, keeping him around could be useful. With Ma Xiaoyong charging in, dealing with Li Feng later would be easier.
Ma Xiaoyong fell silent for a moment, then gave Li Feng a cold stare. “Trash, you got lucky. But just you wait, I’ll kill you.”
“What’s that barking? Since when does the Empire Hotel keep dogs?” Li Feng smirked dismissively, casting a deep glance at Qin Feng. He didn’t believe Qin Feng’s actions were out of kindness, but what was his motive? What did stopping Ma Xiaoyong gain him?
“You…” Ma Xiaoyong roared in anger.
“Enough, Li Feng, show some restraint,” Hu Yuanyuan spoke up.
“Hu Yuanyuan, the Flower of the Northwest, married to a nobody like Li Feng,” Ma Xiaoyong said, his gaze landing on her with a strange glint.
The Flower of the Northwest was the title given to Hu Yuanyuan by the people of the northwest. Hu Wenhai was known as the King of the Northwest, and the Ma family, entrenched there for over a thousand years, made Ma Xiaoyong quite familiar with her.
“Who I marry is none of your business, Third Young Master Ma,” Hu Yuanyuan said, glancing at him with displeasure.
“Why wouldn’t it be my business? Hu Yuanyuan, I’m one of your suitors. Don’t you think marrying me would be better than this nobody Li Feng?” Ma Xiaoyong’s eyes flashed coldly. Since he couldn’t teach Li Feng a lesson directly, he’d hit him where it hurt. Hu Yuanyuan was the perfect target. He wanted to humiliate her in front of Li Feng, to show him how his wife could be toyed with.
Back in the northwest, he had long coveted the Flower of the Northwest. Not just him—many of the Ma family’s young talents admired her. Yet, she ended up with Li Feng, this nobody.
If not for Li Feng, he wouldn’t have thought of humiliating Hu Yuanyuan. She had once been his goddess. But now, how could he pass up the chance? Li Feng wanted to kill him? Fine, he’d toy with his woman and make him die of rage.
“Brother Ma’s right. Only you are worthy of Hu Yuanyuan. Her being with Li Feng is like a flower stuck in cow dung,” Fu Yanxiong said, stepping forward with a faint smile. He understood Ma Xiaoyong’s intentions and was happy to see any chance to strike at Li Feng and Hu Yuanyuan.
“Brother Ma, if you can win over Hu Yuanyuan today, you won’t have to crawl out of the Empire Hotel,” Fu Yanxiong said with a grin.
Ma Xiaoyong’s expression shifted, his eyes gleaming as he looked at Hu Yuanyuan.
Fu Yanxiong’s suggestion stirred him. Winning Hu Yuanyuan without fulfilling their bet would be perfect.
Though he hadn’t won her in the northwest, and pursuing her now as a married woman was impossible, he wasn’t after pursuit today. He just wanted something to happen with her.
He had plenty of ways to deal with women—drugs, force, anything. These were second nature to him.
The thought of possessing his former goddess thrilled Ma Xiaoyong, his heart pounding as if it might leap out.
“Fu Yanxiong,” Li Feng said coldly, his eyes flashing with murderous intent.
“What’s it, Young Master Feng?” Fu Yanxiong sneered inwardly. Li Feng, you think you’re so great? I may not be able to deal with you myself now, but I’ll make sure you suffer. You’ll see what happens when you cross me.
And Hu Yuanyuan, you wretch, let’s see if you’re still so high and mighty when Ma Xiaoyong toys with you.
“Nothing. Just don’t end up like Zheng Haoyuan,” Li Feng said calmly.
“Don’t worry, Young Master Feng. I’m no idiot like Zheng Haoyuan,” Fu Yanxiong sneered. Weren’t you so arrogant yesterday, Li Feng? Now resorting to empty threats?
“Good to know,” Li Feng said with a light hum, his gaze shifting to Ma Xiaoyong.
Ma Xiaoyong chuckled, “Li Feng, what, you gonna threaten me too?”
“Threaten you? Ma Xiaoyong, who do you think you are? Do I need to threaten you?” Li Feng sneered. “Bring whatever you’ve got. I’ll play along. Hope you can handle it.”
“Can’t handle it?” Ma Xiaoyong scoffed. “Me, not handle it? You’re too full of yourself, trash. You’ll be the one crying soon.”
Imagining humiliating Hu Yuanyuan in front of Li Feng, Ma Xiaoyong felt a rush of excitement. He looked at her with a sinister smile. “Hu Yuanyuan, I’ll give you a choice. Leave Li Feng and come to me. I might treat you well. Otherwise…”
He trailed off with a cold laugh.
“Ma Xiaoyong, who do you think you are?” Hu Yuanyuan’s face darkened with anger. Back in the northwest, she knew Ma Xiaoyong was a playboy, the most lecherous among the Ma family’s heirs, always surrounded by women and frequenting nightlife spots. She had always looked down on such people. Now, he dared target her—how could she not be furious?
“Don’t act all high and mighty with me, Hu Yuanyuan. I don’t buy it,” Ma Xiaoyong sneered, not hiding his desire as his eyes roamed her figure. “Not bad, not bad. Worthy of the Flower of the Northwest, a rare beauty. But starting tonight, you’re mine.”
Hu Yuanyuan’s gaze turned icy, a cold light flashing in her eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that. If a nobody like Li Feng can have you, so can I,” Ma Xiaoyong said with a sneer, licking his dry lips at the thought of her.
Slap!
Li Feng stepped forward, sending Ma Xiaoyong flying with a slap, then glared at him coldly. “One more word, and I’ll kill you.”
A dragon has a reverse scale—touch it, and you die.
Hu Yuanyuan was Li Feng’s reverse scale. He wouldn’t allow anyone to target her, no matter who they were.
Yesterday, it was Fu Yanxiong. Today, it was Ma Xiaoyong. Whoever targeted Hu Yuanyuan would pay a heavy price.
Stunned by the slap, Ma Xiaoyong looked up at Li Feng, but the icy killing intent in Li Feng’s eyes sent a chill through him, as if he’d fallen into an icy abyss. His body trembled, his face drained of colour.
This…
It was as if Ma Xiaoyong saw a hellish abyss in Li Feng’s eyes, as if one more word would prompt Li Feng to kill him without hesitation.
Ma Xiaoyong couldn’t understand how Li Feng harboured such chilling intent. For the first time, fear gripped him, a terror he’d never felt, not even when facing his grandfather’s wrath.
Fu Yanxiong’s expression shifted, silently cursing Ma Xiaoyong’s foolishness. Targeting Hu Yuanyuan in front of Li Feng—wasn’t that asking for death? Did he really think Li Feng was an idiot?
Even Fu Yanxiong shivered at Li Feng’s cold gaze.
“Big Brother, what are you doing?” Li Wu stepped forward, blocking Li Feng and saying coldly, “Don’t you know Ma Xiaoyong is from the Ma family? You slapped Zhu Yuanyang and offended the Zhu family. Do you want to offend the Ma family too?”
“Li Wu, didn’t you hear what Ma Xiaoyong just said?” Li Feng said calmly.
“It was just a careless remark. Your actions will only bring trouble to the family. As a Li family member, how can you be so reckless?” Li Wu said coldly.
From Li Feng’s behaviour today, he was clearly not the Li Feng Li Wu once knew. This made him wary, feeling the need to curb Li Feng’s boldness. He wanted Li Feng to know that in front of him, Li Wu, Li Feng should stay in line, whether dragon or tiger. As for Ma Xiaoyong’s harassment of Hu Yuanyuan, that wasn’t his concern.
“A careless remark, huh?” Li Feng sneered. “So, what should I do, in your opinion?”
