Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 280 - LiddRead

Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 280

Li Feng’s heart skipped a beat. He had evaded Ying Suyan’s notice, only to be caught by Feng Ling’er.

He had been cautious; how did she detect him?

“Must I invite you down?” Her voice rose again, now laced with anger.

After a thought, Li Feng opened the vent grate and jumped down.

“Feng Ling’er, long time no see.” He landed before her, grinning.

“Li Feng, it’s you…” Feng Ling’er froze.

“Yes, me. Feng Ling’er, you grow more beautiful by the day.” She was one of the few women who stirred his heart. Leaving her last time had been reluctant; seeing her now excited him.

“Why are you here?” Feng Ling’er had prepared to fight, but it was Li Feng—the man who saved her. A strange feeling had lingered since. After leaving Tianhai, she often thought of him, unsure why.

She had intended to see him this trip but suppressed the urge, deeming it improper. Yet here he was.

Her emotions defied words.

“Why am I here? We must be connected by fate.” Li Feng smiled. “Arriving at the hotel, I felt a call. I wondered what it was, but now I know—it’s you.”

Pausing, he continued, “Heaven favours me. Knowing I missed you constantly, it brought you to me. Feng Ling’er, I am thrilled. Come, let me hug you.”

He opened his arms and stepped forward.

She flashed aside. “Li Feng, no cheap tricks.”

“Not tricks; I missed you.” He smiled.

“Enough flirting. How long were you up there?” she asked.

“Not sure. I napped; who knows how long.” He would not admit tracking her.

“You expect belief?” She sneered. Napping? Did he take her for a fool?

“Yes.” He nodded.

“You…” She glared, furious. Against anyone else, she would strike, but not him.

“Alright, I followed Fu Yanxiong.” Li Feng said.

“Really?” she asked.

“Of course. Would I lie?” He nodded. She would not know he tailed her.

“What is your identity?” She half-believed. Knowing Fu Yanxiong, what was Li Feng if he followed him?

“Yanjing Li family.” He answered truthfully. Easy to verify; no need to hide.

“Yanjing Li family… You are from there.” She was shocked, suspecting complexity but not this.

“Did not peg you for a young master.” she said.

“As long as I match you.” He smiled.

Her mild reaction intrigued him. Brief surprise, then calm. Either she knew little of the Li family, or it impressed her not—like any ordinary clan.

She knew Fu Yanxiong and Ying Suyan, so ignorance was unlikely. Thus, the Li family meant little to her.

If one of the eight top families failed to awe her, who was she?

Eight families: Li, Song, Qin, Ying, Ma, Jin, Fu, Zhu. No Feng.

A first-rate family below top-tier?

Possible, but unlikely.

“Pah, who needs matching…” Her face flushed; words failed.

“Matching what?” He grinned.

“Hmph, no more talk. You bully me.” She huffed.

“Alright, no jokes. Why are you here?” Seeing her near eruption, he changed topics.

“Why tell you?” She glanced.

“Because I am Li Feng.”

“What reason is that?” She laughed angrily. What did that mean? Who was he to her?

“I can help.” He said seriously, curious about her goal—knowing it revealed Ying Suyan’s. He dared not underestimate the scheming woman.

He sensed Ying Suyan tougher than Fu Yanxiong.

“You?” She eyed him. “Can you?”

“Men never say no. Try me.” His gaze dropped to her chest; he swallowed.

“Lecher!” She shrieked, arms crossing, eyes blazing.

His stare burned; she felt exposed, her chest reacting strangely—unprecedented.

Li Feng smiled awkwardly. Her response surprised him. Not the hotel, or he might tease more. But fearing Ying Suyan’s return, he restrained.

Yet Feng Ling’er calmed faster.

“Li Feng, instead of flirting, think how to survive your crisis.” she said gravely.

“Crisis? What?” He blinked.

“You heard: Ying Suyan investigates you.” She had not planned to warn him, but his lecherous gaze prompted it—an inner voice urged protecting him.

“Let her.” He said calmly.

“Li Feng, feigning ignorance?” She fumed at his good-hearted reminder ignored.

“Feng Ling’er, I truly do not know. First time meeting Ying Suyan. Why investigate me?” He shook his head, truthful. Was it for calling her idiot?

If a vase, perhaps revenge. But Ying Suyan was no vase; unlikely over one insult.

Seeing his calm eyes, no deceit, she said, “Li Feng, you are marked by Ying Suyan. Big trouble.”

“Meaning she fancies me?” He blinked.

“Dream on. Ying Suyan fancy you? Stop daydreaming.” She rolled her eyes.

“Having you fancy me suffices.” He nodded.

“Serious talk—be serious.” She glared. Her taste that poor?

“Alright. What trouble?” He asked.

“Though a woman, as Ying heiress, Ying Suyan handles the family’s grey businesses.” she said gravely.

Li Feng paused. Grey businesses: high-risk, high-reward, between black and white. Required boldness, decisiveness.

Ying family sending a beauty to manage them? Unlikely short of talent.

It proved her exceptional ability.

“So, real trouble.” He smiled bitterly.

“Not trouble—big trouble.”

She eyed him. “Once Ying Suyan targets someone, she persists until satisfied. And now, you have another major issue.”
