“Feng Shao, do you want to act immediately?” Zhong Shuhui’s eyes flashed sharply. When she handed over the file, she had anticipated for Li Feng’s reaction. Not just him, even she was furious upon seeing it.
“No, we hold off for now.” Li Feng shook his head, a glint in his eyes.
Zhong Shuhui looked at him, puzzled.
“Zhong Shuhui, you cannot hand this file to the National Security Bureau.” Li Feng said gravely.
“To the National Security Bureau?” She was stunned. What did he mean? Would they care about this?
“Today, Fo Zhu came.” Li Feng did not explain further, but trusted she would understand.
Her eyes flashed, “I see.”
Li Feng turned to Tian Lang, “Dark Tiger is injured. Tian Lang, you handle Feng Yuan Group’s security now. Those few employees there need dealing with.”
“Feng Shao, rest assured. I will handle it cleanly.” Tian Lang accepted the order and left.
“Young Master, I heard Li Wu produced a family command today?” Zhong Shuhui asked once only she and Li Feng remained in the storage room.
“It was the Elders’ Council command. Li Wu’s family command lacks the patriarch’s signature.” Li Feng replied.
“Young Master may not know, but the family’s Elders’ Council is nearly controlled by Li Wu’s line. He is eager to move against you.” Zhong Shuhui’s eyes chilled.
“The Elders’ Council controlled? How?” Li Feng was stunned. Though unfamiliar with the Li family Elders’ Council, as one of the eight top families, how could it be controlled? Did Li Wu and his father have such power? What was Patriarch Li Chuanwei doing?
“Young Master, you never cared about family matters. How would you know it is now in peril? Otherwise, after your last attack, Madam would have come to Tianhai City.” Zhong Shuhui said.
“No wonder Li Wu got the Elders’ Council command so easily.” Cold light flashed in Li Feng’s eyes.
“Tearing the command foiled Li Wu’s plan, but slapped the Elders’ Council. In future, not just Li Wu, but the Council might act against you.” Zhong Shuhui worried.
“Zhong Shuhui, my father the patriarch is not that incompetent, is he?” Li Feng was stunned, then asked, confused. Li Chuanwei was the patriarch, after all.
“Young Master, you are not patriarch. How do you know his competence? Without his secret protection these years, you would have died many times.” Zhong Shuhui said gravely.
“Protection? I feel none. Zhong Shuhui, are you joking?” Li Feng shook his head, disbelieving. Since rebirth, he felt no protection.
“Young Master, I do not know details, but you will learn later.” Zhong Shuhui said.
“Really?” Li Feng’s gaze flickered.
“With Li Wu’s character, if he wants you dead, today would not be just the command.” Zhong Shuhui said.
Li Feng nodded, “I understand. So far, I see no move from him. Wang Mengying might have been his, but now it seems another. Unless that journalist was his.”
Li Feng recalled the journalist and subordinate caught before the press conference. Hiding a gun in a camera, likely assassins. Were they Li Wu’s killers?
“Young Master, Li Wu’s target is clear. We can lure the snake from its hole.” Zhong Shuhui’s eyes flashed.
“Lure the snake?” Li Feng’s eyes lit up.
While Li Feng and Zhong Shuhui planned, in a cafe near Tianfu Tower, Li Wu sat opposite a middle-aged man across a tea table.
At Feng Yuan Group, Li Wu’s Elders’ Council command failed to subdue Li Feng, and after the press conference, Li Feng mocked him. Li Wu’s face was twisted.
Opposite sat a burly man in his forties.
“Fourth Master, I called you to Tianhai City to eliminate someone.” Li Wu said.
“Who?” the man asked.
“Li Feng.” Li Wu said coldly.
The man was surprised. Li Wu summoned him from afar just for Li Feng? Who was this man to earn such hatred?
“Not from your Li family?” the man asked, eyes sharp.
“Yes, from the Li family. Fourth Master, you would not refuse because he is Li family?” Li Wu stared gravely.
“Take money, eliminate disaster. As long as the price is right, no target is beyond us. But I need his full details.” the man smiled.
“His photo.” Li Wu handed one, saying, “Li Feng is skilled. Ordinary men are no match. Sending them is suicide.”
“It’s him.” The man eyed the photo, eyes flashing.
“Fourth Master knows him?” Li Wu was stunned.
“Yes, I accept.” the man nodded.
Li Wu eyed him deeply. He knew the man’s identity well. No reason to know Li Feng unless someone wanted him dead.
But that was irrelevant. Killing Li Feng was all.
“Fourth Master, one million deposit. The rest on success.” Li Wu placed a cheque on the table, pushed it over.
The man glanced, “Wait for good news.” He rose and left.
Watching the door close, Li Wu’s twisted face grew darker. He muttered, “Li Feng, I underestimated you. But this is just beginning. We will see who kills whom.”
Feng Yuan Group, president’s office.
“Tired today?” Li Feng entered, saw Hu Yuanyuan resting in her chair, and smiled.
“Li Feng, you came. What was that earlier? Like a bomb.” Hu Yuanyuan sat up, asked.
“A small accident, resolved. Yuanyuan, agency issue settled?” Li Feng sat opposite.
“Not so fast.” Her gaze fell on him, “Li Feng, be honest. What is between you and Xu Qing?”
“What could there be? Yesterday, Xu Qing dragged me as a shield.” Li Feng said lightly, “Yuanyuan, you do not believe Wang Mengying?”
He knew he would tell Hu Yuanyuan about Xu Qing eventually, but not now.
“Really? Wang Mengying might not lie. With a beauty like Xu Qing, you would not be tempted?” Hu Yuanyuan disbelieved. No cat resists fish, no man fidelity, especially Li Feng.
“Everyone appreciates beauty, I am tempted, but temptation is not action.” Li Feng smiled, gazing at her, “Besides, believe a dead man’s words? He was used to take my life.”
“What?” Hu Yuanyuan paled. Only now she noticed Li Feng’s pallor, blood on his chest, dusty clothes.
“Li. Feng, are you alright? What happened?” Her heart raced.
“A clown.” Li Feng avoided details, scanned the office, “Yuanyuan, where is Elder Lu?”
“Elder Lu said a fly came, he went to shoo it.” Hu Yuanyuan was puzzled. Flies in this weather?
“Fly? Damn.” Cold killing intent flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. As suspected, someone targeted Hu Yuanyuan. Who?
“Li Feng, you mean…?” Hu Yuanyuan realised, face changed.
“Relax. Elder Lu handles it. No issue.” Li Feng smiled. If even an innate realm expert like Elder Lu failed, they could only wait for death.
“Kid, you think highly of me.” As Li Feng spoke, a voice sounded.
Turning, Li Feng saw Elder Lu had appeared in the office, unnoticed.
Was this innate realm prowess? He was far behind.
“Elder Lu, the fly?” Li Feng asked gravely.
“Fly shooed, of course. I never kill.” Elder Lu sat on the sofa, drank tea, then spoke.
Li Feng frowned, unexpected method.
“What, unhappy I shooed the fly?” Elder Lu turned, asked coldly.
“No, I support whatever Elder Lu does. Just worry the fly returns.” Li Feng shook his head quickly.
“Your problem. Solve your own flies. You attracted them.” Elder Lu pulled something from his body, tossed to Li Feng, “From the fly. Useful to you.”
Li Feng caught it, face changed, eyes blazing cold killing intent, “Them again.”
