Dragon Roar Palm!
Faced with Asura’s ferocious strike, Li Feng had no choice but to unleash the Dragon Roar Palm he had only just begun to master. He struck out with one palm, and it was as though a colossal dragon had lunged forward.
Boom, boom, boom…
The giant dragon soared into the air and collided with the ghostly shadows of Asura’s attack. A heaven-shaking explosion erupted. Shockwaves swept in all directions, and the spectral figures vanished without a trace.
“Slash!”
A fierce glint flashed through Li Feng’s eyes. He swung his broadsword viciously, sending a blade of energy infused with terrifying power hurtling towards Asura.
“Damn it, Asura Slash!”
Asura’s expression changed drastically. He roared and slashed downwards with his machete. A green blade of energy tore through the air, producing piercing sonic booms that assaulted the ears.
Boom!
The blades collided and shattered, energy exploding outwards.
Spurt!
Unable to dodge, Asura coughed up a mouthful of blood. His body was hurled from mid-air and crashed heavily onto the ground, staggering as he landed.
“How is this possible? This is impossible!”
Spitting out blood, Asura raised his head and stared at Li Feng in utter disbelief. He had believed he could easily kill Li Feng, yet reality had slapped him hard across the face. Even his ultimate technique, Asura Hell, had failed against Li Feng.
Li Feng looked at Asura, his expression ice-cold. “Asura, today you will undoubtedly die.”
“Hmph, Li Feng, I may not be able to beat you, but do you think I came unprepared?” Asura gave a cold laugh.
“Oh? What other preparations do you have?” Li Feng sneered.
“Open fire!” Asura gave a hidden signal.
“Asura, you wouldn’t be talking about those snipers you positioned around the abandoned factory, would you?” Li Feng laughed coldly.
“You… how did you know…” Asura stared at Li Feng in shock.
“Do you think your snipers still have any chance of survival? You used snipers when you tried to kidnap Hu Yuanyuan. Did you really think I wouldn’t be prepared?” Li Feng sneered. Zhong Shuhui and the Black Hawk team had long since set an inescapable net around the factory. Asura’s snipers had probably already been eliminated.
“You… you didn’t come alone?” Only now, hearing no gunfire, did Asura realise the truth. His face paled dramatically.
“Realising it now is too late.” Li Feng laughed coldly. He strode up to Asura and looked down at him icily. “I want to know what deep grudge exists between me, Li Feng, and your Blood Sand that you keep trying to kill me again and again.”
“We are assassins. Assassins kill for money. Li Feng, I may not be able to kill you today, but others will come for you later. Don’t get cocky. Next time you won’t be so lucky.” Asura laughed coldly. “It’s just a pity that the human bomb last time failed to finish you off.”
“Human bomb?” Li Feng’s pupils contracted. He said icily, “You mean Wang Mengying?”
“So what if I do? You were just lucky to survive.” Asura sneered, making no attempt to deny it. In his view, there was no need.
“I never imagined your Blood Sand actually possessed Phantom Spirit.” Murderous intent flashed through Li Feng’s eyes. In his opinion, something like Phantom Spirit should not exist in this world.
“Phantom Spirit? You actually know about Phantom Spirit? How could you possibly know about Phantom Spirit?” Asura stared at Li Feng in disbelief. Phantom Spirit was a closely guarded secret of the organisation. Even silver-rank assassins like him knew only fragments of it. How could Li Feng know?
Could there be a traitor in the organisation?
Asura shook his head. The organisation’s methods of control were unmatched in the world. A traitor was impossible.
“I have my own ways.” A chilling light gleamed in Li Feng’s eyes. If previously he had only wanted to destroy Blood Sand because they kept sending assassins after him, now, because of Phantom Spirit, he was determined to wipe them out completely.
Asura snorted coldly.
“How many more assassins does Blood Sand have in Tianhai City? Cai Die is one of yours, isn’t she? Where is she?” Li Feng asked gravely.
“Hmph, Li Feng, do you think I’ll tell you?” Asura sneered.
“You no longer have a choice.” Li Feng said coldly.
“Not necessarily.” Asura gave a cold smile. His figure turned into a streak of green light and shot away.
“Trying to escape?”
Li Feng laughed coldly. If Asura escaped today, killing him later would be troublesome. Without hesitation, he gave chase.
Suddenly…
Just when Li Feng thought Asura was fleeing the factory, Asura stamped heavily on the ground and shot straight towards Mu Xiuzhen.
“Despicable!”
Li Feng’s expression changed drastically. Mu Xiuzhen was merely an ordinary person. How could she possibly withstand Asura? Li Feng tried to pursue, but it was already too late.
“Mu Xiuzhen, be careful!”
Li Feng had never expected Asura to resort to such a vile trick at this moment. His face turned livid with rage.
“Heh heh, Li Feng, you’re still too green to fight me, Asura!”
Asura laughed coldly and pounced towards Mu Xiuzhen. As long as he seized her, he would still have a chance to escape today.
Mu Xiuzhen’s face turned deathly pale as she watched Asura charge at her. She had witnessed the entire battle between Li Feng and Asura, the blades of energy, the palm shadows. To her, it was like watching a wuxia drama, except even wuxia dramas were not this spectacular.
All along, Mu Xiuzhen had admired martial arts, but she had believed that even trained martial artists were only slightly stronger than ordinary people. Now she realised how wrong she had been. A sudden urge surged within her: no matter what, she had to learn these martial arts.
Watching Li Feng fight Asura had left her both worried and nervous, because she knew that if Li Feng lost, the consequences would be unthinkable.
Fortunately, Li Feng had lived up to expectations and defeated Asura. Mu Xiuzhen had breathed a sigh of relief. Yet she had never imagined that, in order to survive, Asura would target her.
Against an ordinary person, she would not be afraid. As a police officer, she could handle several at once. But against Asura, Mu Xiuzhen did not even dare to think of resisting.
It’s over. It’s all over.
Staring at Asura’s ferocious face, Mu Xiuzhen’s mind went blank.
“Courting death!”
At that moment, a feminine shout rang out, followed immediately by a flash of sword light.
“Damn it!” Asura’s expression changed drastically. He retreated swiftly, his face livid as he glared at the person who had suddenly appeared beside Mu Xiuzhen.
“Who are you?”
“You don’t need to know.” The newcomer was none other than Zhong Shuhui. She held a flexible sword and stared coldly at Asura.
“I’ll kill you!” He had not expected this woman who appeared out of nowhere to ruin his plan. Fury overwhelmed his reason; he wanted nothing more than to kill her.
“Die!” Asura roared and prepared to lunge again.
“Asura, your opponent is me.”
By then Li Feng had caught up. Without a word, he slashed at Asura’s back, a long blade of energy carrying unparalleled power. The air trembled wherever it passed.
“Not good!”
Sensing the deadly threat, Asura snapped out of his rage. In panic, he spun around and slashed defensively.
Boom!
The green blade energy was instantly torn apart and exploded into nothingness. Li Feng’s strike continued unabated and slammed into Asura’s body.
Spurt!
Asura vomited blood. His body flew through the air and crashed heavily onto the ground. His chest had been cleaved open, flesh and blood a mangled mess, blood pouring out.
As expected of a highly cultivated ancient martial artist, even with such grievous wounds Asura did not die immediately. He glared ferociously at Li Feng and snarled, “Li Feng, don’t get smug. Though you’ve killed me today, Blood Sand will never let you go. Our assassins will come for you one after another…”
“That’s no longer your concern.” Li Feng gave a cold laugh and ended Asura with a final slash.
After killing Asura, Li Feng’s face paled. He sat down hard on the ground. The effort to kill Asura had drained him greatly, especially the Dragon Roar Palm, which had consumed nearly eighty percent of his true qi. If Asura had managed to hold out for a few more moves, Li Feng might not have been his match.
“Young master, are you alright?” Zhong Shuhui hurried to his side.
“I’m fine. Have the people outside been dealt with?” Li Feng asked.
“All taken care of. More than a dozen assassins Asura had stationed outside, including three snipers, not one remains.” Zhong Shuhui nodded.
“Good.” Li Feng let out a breath of relief. With so many Blood Sand assassins eliminated, even if the organisation still wanted him dead, they would lie low for a while. He would deal with Blood Sand later.
“Mu Xiuzhen, are you alright?” Li Feng turned to her.
“I don’t need your concern.” Seeing Zhong Shuhui beside Li Feng, Mu Xiuzhen felt an inexplicable irritation. She wanted to say something to him, but the words stuck in her throat. In the end, all that came out was a cold remark.
“Today’s events were my fault for dragging you into this. Fortunately, you’re safe now.” Li Feng said with some apology. He had anticipated Blood Sand might target Xu Qing, but he had never expected them to go after Mu Xiuzhen.
“Hmph, I was just unlucky. It has nothing to do with you.” With that, Mu Xiuzhen turned and stormed off angrily.
Li Feng stared after her in bewilderment, unsure what she meant.
Western suburbs dock, Tianhai City.
A middle-aged man hurriedly boarded a cargo ship and knocked on a cabin door.
“Come in.”
A cold, clear voice answered.
The middle-aged man pushed the door open and entered.
“Any news?” The person inside was none other than Cai Die of Blood Sand. She turned and looked coldly at the man.
“Yes.” The middle-aged man nodded.
“What was the outcome?” Cai Die asked gravely.
“Asura is dead. Almost all of Blood Sand’s assassins in Tianhai City have been wiped out by Li Feng.” The man replied.
“Hmph, Asura refused to heed my warning. He deserved to die.” Cai Die snorted coldly. “Pass the order: set sail immediately.”
“Where are we headed?” the middle-aged man asked.
“To Su City, to find Tianyan.” A sharp glint flashed through Cai Die’s eyes.
