“Peak Shao, what’s going on?” Song Zhiyuan hurried over. He had only stepped away to greet a few acquaintances, yet trouble had already started.
“This guy tried to steal from me,” Li Feng said coldly. If it were anything else, he might not care, but this fellow had targeted his spatial pouch. That was utterly unforgivable. Inside the pouch lay all his cultivation resources and treasures. Although the pouch carried his divine sense imprint, meaning no one could open it while his consciousness remained, if it fell into the wrong hands, a true expert might still erase his mark.
“What?” Song Zhiyuan’s expression darkened. He glared at the youth Li Feng held. “You’ve got some nerve stealing from Peak Shao. Speak. What exactly did you take?”
“I didn’t steal anything. He’s framing me,” the youth said gravely.
“Framing you? So you won’t admit it?” A cold glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes.
“I didn’t steal anything. Why should I admit to something I didn’t do?” Panic flickered in the youth’s eyes. He hadn’t expected Li Feng to react so quickly. He had been extremely careful, yet he was still caught. Still, he would never confess.
“Won’t admit it? Then you’re courting death.” Killing intent appeared in Li Feng’s gaze.
“Heh…”
A sudden scoff rang out, followed by a voice. “Li Feng, aren’t you being far too arrogant? This may be Tianhai City, but this is New Century. It’s not a place for you to throw your weight around. He accidentally bumped into you and already apologised. What more do you want? Accusing him of theft? Do you really think that just because people call you Peak Shao you can do whatever you like and that no one can touch you?”
Hearing that voice, Li Feng’s eyes narrowed.
Fu Yanxiong.
He hadn’t expected him to be here too. It seemed this thief’s attempt on his spatial pouch was very likely connected to Fu Yanxiong.
With that thought, Li Feng’s gaze turned icy. “So it’s you. I didn’t expect to see you here, Young Master Fu. What, are you planning to stick your nose into other people’s business?”
Dressed sharply in a suit, Fu Yanxiong flushed with anger at Li Feng’s words, but the freezing look in Li Feng’s eyes forced him to swallow his rage. He gave a cold snort. “I’m only speaking up because I can’t stand seeing someone being framed.”
Li Feng merely glanced at him coldly, then turned back to the youth. “Well? Have you thought it over?”
The pale-faced youth, clearly drained by wine and women, felt panic rise under Li Feng’s icy stare. Yet with so many eyes on him, he forced himself to stay defiant. “You can’t just bully people like this. Who do you think I am? Why would I steal from you? Clearly you…”
“So you still won’t admit it.” Li Feng narrowed his eyes, his tone deceptively calm.
Yet everyone present heard the glacial killing intent beneath those calm words.
Song Zhiyuan’s expression shifted. In all the time he had spent with Li Feng recently, he had never seen him this furious, not even when facing the four great families at the Imperial Hotel.
What on earth had the youth stolen to enrage Li Feng so completely?
Whatever it was, Li Feng’s anger was terrifying. With his status, power, and methods, anyone who offended him never ended well.
“Are you going to hand it over yourself, or shall I take it from you?” Li Feng stared at the youth, his voice utterly flat, yet his fury had reached its peak. “I’ll give you three seconds.”
“Li Feng, you’re being far too overbearing. Do you even know where you are?” Fu Yanxiong could not resist interjecting.
Li Feng turned his head. Cold light blazed in his eyes. “Fu Yanxiong, if you don’t want to die, shut your mouth.”
“You…” Fu Yanxiong’s face turned crimson with rage, but he swallowed the rest of his words. He could see Li Feng was truly enraged. He had personally experienced Li Feng’s methods before. If he provoked him further, Li Feng might strike again. With his own skill no match for Li Feng, he would only humiliate himself in front of everyone.
“Hmph.” Fu Yanxiong snorted and fell silent.
The youth’s face drained of what little colour remained. Even Fu Yanxiong dared not provoke Li Feng further. He was doomed.
Regret flooded him. If he had known, he would never have let his fingers wander. But…
At that moment, every gaze in the hall turned to Li Feng. They wanted to know who this man was that even Fu Yanxiong feared to cross.
Some recognised him now. They had seen photographs but never the man in person. Realisation dawned, and fear flickered in their eyes.
Song Zhiyuan watched Li Feng, a sharp glint in his own gaze. Li Feng’s methods were endless and terrifying. Yet someone had still dared to provoke him. Truly tired of living.
“Hand it over or not?” Li Feng asked coldly.
Terror filled the youth’s eyes. He turned desperately to Fu Yanxiong. “Young Master Fu, please help me!”
Fu Yanxiong merely snorted and turned his head away, refusing to even glance at him.
The youth paled completely. In that instant he understood. Fu Yanxiong had used him as a pawn and abandoned him without hesitation.
He couldn’t understand why Li Feng was making such a fuss over one small cloth pouch. Was this really someone who belonged in New Century? So stingy over a little trinket?
“Three.”
Li Feng began counting, his icy gaze fixed on the youth.
The youth’s face turned ashen.
“Two,” Li Feng said coldly.
The youth shuddered, his face the colour of dirt. He opened his mouth to speak but found no words. Li Feng’s stare was too terrifying, like standing naked in a frozen wasteland.
“One.” Li Feng’s voice rang out once more, utterly frigid. “Very well. Since you won’t do as I say, I’ll show you the price of offending me.”
Crack!
Li Feng’s grip tightened. The youth’s wrist shattered with an audible snap.
“Ahhh…”
The youth let out a blood-curdling scream, writhing in agony.
“Hmph. You refuse the easy way and choose the hard way.” Li Feng snorted. He reached into the youth’s clothes, retrieved his spatial pouch, then kicked him flying with brutal force.
“Peak Shao, that’s what he stole?” Song Zhiyuan stared incredulously at the small cloth pouch. Li Feng had crippled the youth’s hand over this?
“Correct.” Li Feng tucked the pouch away. This pouch was his most precious possession. If they weren’t in New Century, he would have slapped the thief dead on the spot. No one touched what was his.
Song Zhiyuan’s eyes held confusion. With Li Feng’s status, why would he care so deeply about a little cloth pouch?
Unseen in the crowd, a pair of eyes caught sight of the spatial pouch. A sharp glint flashed within them.
“Peak Shao, aren’t your methods a little too cruel?” Fu Yanxiong’s pupils contracted as he watched the youth’s wrist being crushed.
“Cruel?” Li Feng gave a disdainful laugh and turned to him. “Young Master Fu thinks I’m cruel? Then tell me, what would you suggest I do?”
“Hmph.” Fu Yanxiong snorted. “Peak Shao, this is New Century. Behaviour like yours will get you thrown out.”
“Thrown out? So Young Master Fu intends to have me expelled on New Century’s behalf?” Li Feng’s eyes narrowed.
“I don’t have that authority, but someone does.” Fu Yanxiong smiled coldly.
“Oh? And who might that be?” A sharp glint appeared in Li Feng’s eyes.
“Me.”
A voice sounded from the side. Everyone turned to see a man in his early thirties walking out from the inner hall, a slightly younger man following behind him.
“I didn’t expect to see you here, Young Master Wu.” Li Feng’s eyes narrowed. He had clashed with this same Wu-shao only this afternoon. Meeting again now truly was a narrow road for enemies.
“I didn’t expect to see you either, Li Feng. Is a place like New Century somewhere you should be? Get out.” Wu-shao stared at Li Feng coldly, excitement flickering in his eyes. He had come tonight specifically to deal with Li Feng. That Li Feng had walked right in was a gift from heaven.
As for Li Feng’s background? Eldest young master of the top-tier Li family? In Wu-shao’s view, that was worthless. Although the Wu family was merely first-rate, its true strength rivalled the so-called top-tier clans. And he, Wu-shao, was certainly no eunuch like Li Feng could compare to.
“What did you say?” Li Feng’s pupils contracted. Icy killing intent surged in his eyes.
“I told you to get out. Didn’t you hear me?” Wu-shao’s gaze turned frigid.
